First appearance of Agent Bishop

This episode provides examples of

  • Drives Like Crazy: Michelangelo flies the Triceraton spaceship so recklessly, the Triceraton pilot they took hostage begs for mercy.
Leo: Now pilot this ship or we'll let Mikey here fly it again!
Triceraton Pilot: No, no! I'll fly it!
  • Floating Continent: Beijing, China, thanks to the Triceratons.
  • Foreshadowing: Shredder tells Karai they will wait to see what opportunities arise from the Triceraton invasion, foreshadowing his secret agenda he will take on for the season. The events of the invasion and the Triceratons curb-stomping Earth's defenders likely play a part in convincing Shredder that he needs to find a way off the planet before the Utroms return for him.
  • I Heard That: Mike uses his Sci-fi knowhow to sneak their hijacked spaceship into a Triceraton Hover Shuttle freighter.
Mike: This is a standard sci-fi spaceship infiltration technique. Watch the master at work, Raphie boy.
(Mike maneuvers the ship behind a freighter and then moves above it, then descends very slowly and touches down on top of the freighter gently and the freighter with its stowaway enters the Homeworld)
Raph: (whispering) I don't believe this! Mikey's actually pulling it off!
Leo: (whispering) See? He's not completely useless.
    Mike: I Heard That!
  • I Know Mortal Kombat: Mikey pilots the Triceraton ship surprisingly well due to his hours of experience playing 'Space Destructors'
  • Making a Splash: Justice Force member Tsunami has this power set.
  • Nuke 'em: All countries possessing nuclear armaments fire their entire available stock in a last ditch effort to attack the Triceratons, but it fails.
  • Pineapple Surprise: In one of the less family-friendly (and most awesome) moments of the Space Invaders arc, Michelangelo does this to a Triceraton soldier.
  • Propaganda Piece: The last-episode recap takes the form of one, with clear inspiration from World War II-era propaganda.
"…and our boys will be home for horn-sharpening day!"
  • We Wait: Shredder acknowledges the gravity of the situation when the Earth's last effort to fight off the Triceratons fails, but decides to wait and see what arises.
  • The Worf Effect: The Justice Force get their asses kicked when they try to take out the Triceraton fleet.
    • Zerg Rush: The Triceratons win through overwhelming numbers.
