After Robin stubs his toe and declares it one of his super-weaknesses, Starfire is confused because she thought that true heroes are invincible, and has to be explained that every superhero has their own weaknesses and she needs to identify her own in order to be the best heroine she can be.

Tropes:

  • Achilles' Power Cord: Kalzar’s weakness.
  • Brick Joke: The first Kryptonite Factor example Starfire is told about is the titular case with Superman, who's shown in an Imagine Spot sipping tea in the Fortress of Solitude before a giant Kryptonite meteor crashes through the roof and lands on top of him. At the end of the episode, as the Titans are leaving the mountain to go back home, another Kryptonite meteor randomly crashes down onto Robin.
  • The Chew Toy: This episode shows Robin getting hurt even more than usual.
  • Cone of Shame: This is apparently Beast Boy’s weakness.
  • Continuity Nod: One of Robin's weaknesses, which is mentioned by Beast Boy, is spicy food. This was previously shown in "The Spice Game" and "The Avogodo."
  • Cut the Juice: The fortune-telling machine's own weakness turns out to be its power cord, and it's defeated when Robin trips over his untied shoelaces and accidentally knocks the plug out.
  • Dramatic Spotlight: One shines on Starfire as she worries about never finding her weakness and, in her mind, never becoming a true hero.
  • Face Your Fears: After the fortune teller magically summons the Kryptonite Factor of the other Titans out of spite when Starfire disagrees with its claim that her friends are her greatest weakness, Starfire rallies the team to overcome their fears and weaponize their own weaknesses to defeat the fortune teller.
  • Fortune Teller: In order to learn what Starfire's super-weakness must be, the Titans go on an adventure to a carnival-style robot fortune-teller with actual psychic powers, located on the top of a mountain.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: Cyborg’s tub of ice cream has Mr. Freeze on the front.
  • Heartbreak and Ice Cream: Cyborg eats ice cream out of the tub as he watches Steel Magnolias and cries.
  • Hurt Foot Hop: Robin does this after stubbing his toe.
  • Humongous Mecha: Kalzar turns into this and begins fighting the Titans with their own weaknesses.
  • Instant Ice: Just Add Cold!: Robin turns into a giant ice cube on the group’s journey up the mountain.
  • Kryptonite Factor: The entire episode focuses on this, noting the weaknesses of famous characters like Green Lantern and Mr. Mxyzptlk while also trying to discover what Starfire's own Kryptonite is.
  • Laborious Laces: One of Robin’s weaknesses that Kalzar uses to take him down.
  • Medium Blending: When Raven tells Starfire what she’ll need to do to get to Kalzar, realistic pictures are shown.
  • Ocular Gushers: The way Cyborg weaponizes his weakness against Kalzar is by blasting him with his tears.
  • Potty Emergency: Beast Boy hops around with his legs crossed, telling Star he needs to go to the bathroom. When she lets him, he turns into a dog and goes to find a spot to lift his leg.
  • The Power of Friendship: After going on a journey to a carnival fortune-telling machine atop a mountain, Starfire is aghast to learn that her own weakness is her friends; she had been constantly yelling at them to hurry up during the entire trip because they kept getting distracted with building snowmen and potty breaks, and according the the machine, it's just the latest case of them holding her back. However, when the machine then turns into a giant robot and summons the other Titans' weaknesses, she motivates the other Titans to overcome their own weaknesses and they take it down together.
  • The Quest: The Titans go on a quest to help Starfire figure out what her weakness is by meeting Kalzar the Weakness Wizard.
  • Rage Breaking Point: Beast Boy’s potty break is the distraction that finally sets off Starfire. She’s so full of rage that she even gets a Twitchy Eye.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Cyborg’s weakness is the movie Steel Magnolias.
    • Kalzar the Weakness Wizard is very similar to Zoltar from Big.
  • Super Mode: Starfire goes Super Saiyan when Kalzar won’t stop insulting her friends, showing him that the love she has for her friends is actually her greatest strength.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: According to them, Beast Boy's weakness is the Cone of Shame, Raven's is packing peanuts, and Cyborg's is getting overly emotional at Steel Magnolias. Robin's list is downright absurd, with more mundane weaknesses than he has actual strengths, such as minor injuries, bright colors, and untied shoelaces.
