Recap / Teen Titans Go S 4 E 34 Ones and Zeroes

Go To

The Titans build an AI robot so it can create a pizza that's never been made before.

  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: What this episode centers around, with Robin saying that it's inevitable for AI to betray their creators.
  • Always Close: Lampshaded and invoked by Cyborg when the Teen Titans make their escape near the end of the episode.
  • Chekhov's Gag: Cyborg warns Beast Boy not to enter "2" when programming the robot using 0 and 1. When it comes time to destroy the fortress constructed by the robot gone rogue at episodes' end, guess which number they launch at the core?
  • Episode Tagline: "Hello!"
  • Exact Words: The robot is only commanded to "create a pizza that's never been made before", meaning that it's going to make every pizza that's never been made before, which will take an eternity in human time.
  • I Warned You: Robin is the one person not on board with the robot plan because the the robot he once built went berserk.
  • Mundane Made Awesome: The programming part, which becomes a synthy song sequence, "Binary Code", with the Titans wearing Cool Shades and Cyborg jamming on a keytar.
  • Noodle Incident: Apparently, Robin once made a robotic copy of himself that went rogue and destroyed civilization, though everything was rebuilt afterwards.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Turing Test: The Titans make sure the robot passes the test.
  • Verbal Tic: The robot begins or ends each of its lines with a "Hello!"
  • What Could Possibly Go Wrong?: More like "What's the worst that could happen?" by the point the pizza making robot has already went haywire. Cut to dystopia with robot drones flying around, and the robot now a fortress vaguely resembling the Death Star.
