Recap / Teen Titans Go S 3 E 49 Snuggle Time

Go To

Original airdate: September 22nd, 2016

When yet another crime alert interrupts their relaxation (specifically, snuggling with kittens and drinking hot chocolate with tiny marshmallows), The Titans decide to become villains and do whatever they want.

Tropes:

  • Bald of Evil / Beard of Evil: Robin's appearance as Dick Gravestone utilizes both.
  • Being Good Sucks: The Titans complain about being heroes stopping villains and why they want to become villains.
  • Bound and Gagged: During the "Crime Time" montage, Robin is shown lowering a tied up and gagged Batgirl into a vat of acid labeled "Joker Jelly".
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • When the Titans use the ray gun to blow up things instead of merely threatening to do so for a ransom, the H.I.V.E. Five is shocked that they would do that.
    • When the Titans are sharing ideas for evil plots, Raven suggests buying out politicians and corrupting the government over time, not unlike the current political climate in the US. The other Titans and their henchmen (minus one who claps) veto the idea.
  • Evil Feels Good: The motive for the Titans wanting to become villains.
  • Evil Laugh: The Titans (as the Legion of Doom) do this whenever committing evil acts.
  • Faceā€“Heel Turn: The Titans full stop. They actually become surprisingly more effective at it than they are at being heroes, with The Cyborg noting that everything he found annoying about Robin makes him excellent as Dick Gravestone.
  • Hourglass Plot: The episode starts with the Titans' Snuggle Time getting interrupted by the H.I.V.E. Five, and ends with the H.I.V.E. Five's Snuggle Time getting interrupted by the Titans' Legion of Doom.
  • Spell My Name with a "The": Cyborg's title as a villain is "The Cyborg".
  • Spikes of Villainy: Cyborg and Starfire's villainous personas both wears spiked gauntlets and shoulder pads, with "The Cyborg" also having a mohawk of metal spikes.
  • The Unapologetic: When Raven apologizes for raising her hand, Robin reminds her that villains never apologize. Instead, she knocks Robin off so she can speak from the podium.
  • Villains Act, Heroes React: Robin points out that when villains call, it's the heroes' job to answer that call which is what he and the other Titans are tired of doing.
