This episode provides examples of:

• Bittersweet Ending: The Skeletal Circle is defeated and Shuggazoom City is saved, but Chiro is heartbroken over the truth about Ma & Pa Sheenko, almost severely damaging his trust in others if not for the Monkey Team reassuring him. Even worse, Valeena and Skele-Mandarin escape with Skeleton King's skull and are planning to somehow resurrect him.
• Can't Kill You, Still Need You: Skele-Mandarin could've easily taken the skull and left Valeena at the mercy of her parents and the Hyperforce for how she treated him, but he doesn't for this reason, as he explains to her at the end.
  Valeena: You rescued me, monkey. Why?
  Skele-Mandarin: You know more about the skull than you let on, Witch. It seems its power lies beyond even me.
• Luke, I Am Your Father: Ma & Pa Sheenko are Valeena's parents.
• Religion of Evil: The Skeletal Circle, a secret group of Shuggazoom citizens who worship Skeleton King.
• The Reveal: The Leaders of the Skeletal Circle are none other than Ma & Pa Sheenko, and Valeena is their daughter.
• Wham Line: We get a couple, both delivered by Valeena.
  • We learn another huge bombshell about Ma & Pa Sheenko when she confronts them for stealing Skeleton King's skull.
    Valeena: Mother! Father! How could you steal his glory for your own!?
    Skele-Mandarin: What?! They're your parents?!
  • She then drops the biggest one at the end of the episode, after she and Skele-Mandarin steal back the Skeleton King's skull.
    Skele-Mandarin: (looking at the image the skull is projecting) What is it?
    Valeena: The first piece of a puzzle, Mandarin. A puzzle that will lead to the resurrection of Skeleton King!
• Wham Shot: The Leaders of the Skeletal Circle removing their hoods, revealing them to be Ma & Pa Sheenko.
