What is this?, the next Ice Age?
This episode provides examples of:
- Afraid of Their Own Strength: Nova tells Chiro that since her incident with Mandarin, she's trying to control her anger, otherwise she could hurt her loved ones as Sparx pointed.
- An Aesop: There's a place and time where it's ok to express anger.
- Angst Nuke: Nova, when captured by the ice queen who froze solid the rest of the Hyperforce and Shuggazoom, becomes so angry that her body temperature melts all the snow and the ice queen and she glows like a supernova.
- An Ice Person: The Hyperforce discovers that the snow weather was caused by an evil ice queen who froze all citizens of Shuggazoom alive.
- Berserk Button: Nova hates cold and snow and it makes her furious to the point that her body temperature increases and can melt the snow.
- Braving the Blizzard: The Hyperforce do this to find the underground source of the blizzard.
- Burning with Anger: Nova does this literally when exposed to the cold.
- Flashback: Nova has one of her in a training season at the time when Mandarin was team leader, and he intentionally lowered the temperature to make Nova suffer for his amusement. However, it literally explodes in his face.
- Human Popsicle: The people of Shuggazoom become this when frozen by the ice monsters.
- Morality Pet: Antauri calms Nova down telling her to not allow her anger to control her. Chiro also becomes this when Nova's anger thaws all Shuggazoom, and he almost collapses from the heat, causing Nova to snap out of it.
- No Sympathy: Chiro rightfully feels that Mandarin deserved the explosion for trying to freeze Nova. Also Nova is more ashamed of having lost her temper and almost destroying the Super Robot than for any harm she could have caused to Mandarin.
- Oh, Crap!: Sparx, Gibson and Otto have this when the former accidentally hits Nova in the face with a big snowball, thus making her angry. Mandarin also had this when he sees Nova's heat about to literally explode in his face.
- Pet the Dog: When underground, looking for the source of the snowstorm, Sparx apologizes to Nova for accidentally throwing a big snowball at her face.
- Silent Antagonist: The ice queen is this, as she never speaks and only is heard screaming.
- Snowball Fight: Sparx and Otto have this at the beginning of the episode, where the former accidentally hits Nova in the face with a big snowball which makes her angry.
- The "Be Careful!" Speech: Antauri gives one to Nova when she's starting to get angry at the cold.Antauri: Calm down Nova, don't let you anger to get the best of you.(Nova gets even angrier)Nova: (calming down, sadly) Yeah, I remember.
