• Affectionate Gesture to the Head: When Grace is coughing thanks to some strong pot, Roman affectionately cups her head.
• Big Brother Instinct: Despite their bitter enmity, Ewan declines to partake in a vote of no confidence against Logan.
• Damned by Faint Praise: All Rava can come up with on a deeply shitty Thanksgiving is thanks that she’s not in a refugee camp.
• The Dog Bites Back: When Tom tries to mock Willa for her "next step" with Connor, she shuts him up telling him at least only one member of the family is fucking her.
• Even Evil Has Standards: While they’re both Republicans, Kendall and Roman balk at Logan doing “all the news”, because that would make him a dictator.
• Facial Dialogue: Ewan doesn’t tell Logan that Kendall is trying to sway him on the vote of no confidence, but coming up again because he forgot his stick lets him know that Kendall at least tried to talk to Ewan, and Ken is hanging his head in fear anyway.
• Fall Guy: Not wanting to do it himself, Tom tells Greg to go in on Thanksgiving and shred the documents on cruises.
• Foreshadowing: While shredding the cruise documents, Greg goes out of his way to save a few of them. This becomes important in the following two seasons.
• Jerkass Has a Point: Logan’s not well and making bad choices, and the boys are right in that, but they’re also trying to oust him because they’ve got used to power.
• Kick the Dog: Logan yells at Rava for doing what’s best for her clearly autistic son, and brains the boy with a can of cranberries.
• Obnoxious In-Laws: Shiv doesn’t want to spend any holidays with Tom’s parents, even if at worse they’re passive aggressive and not nearly as bad as her family.
• Pet the Dog: Despite being an asshole during the episode, Logan is nice to Willa when he talks about the medals he owns.
• Sad Clown: Marcia says they’re eating “family style” at Thanksgiving, and Roman snarks it’s almost like they’re an actual family.
• You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: Rava says it to Kendall after they’ve both got yelled at like children for leaving Iverson in the other room, and he just takes his father’s abuse.
