Ahsoka tries to convince a stubborn Farnus to help her broker a ceasefire between the Republic and the Imperium. Mace Windu and Obi-Wan's fight against Samael is joined by an Inquisitorial agent named Hecate, who proves to be more than their match. As the battle at the Basilica of Salvation intensifies, Obi-Wan is forced to call for a retreat while Mace falls to the Dark Side in his desperation to defeat Samael.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • Broken Pedestal: Mace Windu becomes this to the rest of the Jedi after falling to the Dark Side and physically lashing out at a wounded Obi-Wan for ordering a tactical retreat.
  • The Bus Came Back:
    • Commissar Jane Leerose makes her return in Part 4 after last being physically seen in Episode 12 during the second season.
    • Alouicious Cynder, the Tempestor Prime who saved Lazarus's life in Episode 22, also returns in Part 4 where he is seen with Leerose's battlegroup as they arrive to the besieged Basilica of Salvation to reinforce the Imperial defenders.
  • Call-Back: During the siege on the Basilica of Salvation in this episode, Obi-Wan notes in his internal narration that he hasn't been this exhausted or worn out by a single battle since the Battle of Geonosis.
  • Cassandra Truth: Due to coming from the Imperium's Schizo Tech society, Farnus is incredulous and refuses to believe Ahsoka when she claims the Republic doesn't use pen and paper anymore in response to his request for her message to Saint Lazarus to be written on parchment rather than a datapad.
  • Combat Compliment: Mace Windu and Samael Whyler exchange these during their duel in part 3; Samael's is more genuine while Mace's is more backhanded.
Samael: Damn, you're a strong witch, I'll give you that much!
Mace: And you are a braver liar than most, to come back here.
  • Drop Pod: Around the end of Part 4, the Tempered Hands Chapter finally make their official debut by landing around the Basilica of Salvation in drop pods deployed from their Battle Barge. They are seen from afar by Obi-Wan, who initially thinks that the Battle Barge is carrying out an Orbital Bombardment with oversized bullets due to how fast the drop pods are crashing down.
  • Facepalm: Ahsoka does this in Part 1 after she asks a clone trooper for some pen and paper in response to Farnus refusing to accept a datapad, only for the clone to inform her that the last time anyone on Axum used parchment was long before the Clone Army was even decanted.
  • Floating Head Syndrome: The episode thumbnail cover art for Part 1 has Farnus's giant disembodied head taking up the center with the smaller disembodied heads of Ahsoka, Fixer, Nerva, Bofin, a 332nd Company clone trooper, and a female commissar floating above Farnus's head.
  • Give My Regards in the Next World: Mace Windu to Samael Whyler in Part 4 when the former has the latter impaled on his lightsaber. Mace believes that his opponent is finished and says this.
Mace: Now die, you defeated savage—and tell your god I will send many more after you before I am done!
  • Healing Vat: In Part 1, it's revealed to Farnus that Ahsoka and her clone troopers placed a comatose Nerva into one of these after recovering her and Farnus from the battlefield. The treatment itself is actually doing little-to-nothing to help Nerva get out of her coma because the damage she's suffering from is caused by her malfunctioning cybernetics which the Republic lacks the technological knowledge on how to repair.
  • Hold Your Hippogriffs: While fighting Hecate in Part 3, Obi-Wan is taken off-guard by her enhanced strength and describes her as "kick[ing] like a Herglic striking droid."
  • I Can't Believe I'm Saying This: Ahsoka says this in Episode 42 Part 1 to Rex and the other clone troopers guarding Farnus, especially since she had sworn to never let her guard down around an Imperial after what happened with the Electro-Priest.
Ahsoka: Everyone...I can't believe I'm saying this, but leave. Everyone but me, Farnus here, and the skull.
  • Multi-Part Episode: This episode is broken up into four parts which are each released separately.
  • Origins Episode: Part 2 serves as one for Hecate, an Inquisitorial agent who had first been introduced earlier in Episode 37. A good portion of the episode is spent explaining her whole backstory prior to joining the Inquisition and establishes that she was a failed Eversor Assassin.
  • The Reveal:
    • Part 2 reveals that Hecate used to be an Eversor Assassin in training until she failed and was nearly euthanized until Samael intervened and recruited her.
    • Samael is confirmed to be Tahr Whyler's brother and also possesses Warp abilities.
  • That's an Order!: Mace in Part 4 when he sees that Obi-Wan has begun a Tactical Withdrawal from the Basilica of Salvation and tries to countermand him, warning the nearby Jedi and clone troopers that he is giving them a direct order to not retreat. Much to his rage, the other Jedi refuse to obey him since he's visibly under the Dark Side's influence and the clone troopers are silently encouraged to ignore him as well.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Obi-Wan, while accepting that Hecate is dangerous, doesn't think she will be anywhere near as dangerous as some of his opponents like Asajj Ventress. He quickly changes his mind after fighting her in Part 3, and she almost kills him, with the Jedi Master only being saved by luck and some very quick thinking.
  • Viler New Villain: Discussed in part 3. During his POV segment, Mace Windu comes to believe this about Samael when mentally comparing him to Saphran, noting that Saphran was at least an honest man who was just doing his duty as a soldier whereas Samael is a despicable spy who constantly lies and manipulates everyone as well as shows a willingness to murder seemingly innocent civilians like Jenova and Kombirr. This is actually subverted in the story itself as Samael is in practice more of an Affably Evil Anti-Villain (not to mention that Mace is unaware Jenova is a Genestealer Magus).
  • Wham Episode: This episode sees Mace Windu fall to the Dark Side as well as lose his eye, hand, and lightsaber to Samael.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: Ahsoka more or less has this reaction when Farnus insists on the cease-fire terms he is to present being written down with pen and paper (which is rarely seen in the Republic outside of museums) instead of the digital version on the datapad (which could be dangerous Xenotech in both his eyes and that of his commanders) that Ahsoka initially gives him.
