"If I can't have it, NO ONE CAN!"

Original air date: 9/11/2010 (produced in 2009) note

SpongeBob orders a Krabby Kiddie Meal with Patrick, and Mr. Krabs gives them both a toy, which SpongeBob insists they share. But Patrick has other plans.

"Yours, Mine and Mine" contains examples of:

  • An Aesop:
    • Sharing is hard at first, but it's important to understand what it is.
    • You shouldn't even let sharing a simple thing get in the way of your friendship.
  • All Take and No Give: Patrick's idea of what "sharing" means — SpongeBob paying for his stuff while he keeps them all to himself.
  • Apple of Discord: Patty Pal. Even Mr. Krabs was upset it caused SpongeBob and Patrick to brawl each other.
  • Artistic License – Biology: The toy Patrick eats has straws as limbs in which in real life would be a choking hazard, yet he didn't suffer this.
  • Big "NO!": By SpongeBob when Patrick eats the toy, which immediately summons Mr. Krabs over to resolve the feud.
  • Book Ends: The episode begins at the Krusty Krab as SpongeBob and Patrick receive Patty Pal which soon ignites their argument, and ends at the Krusty Krab where Patrick eats Patty Pal, Mr. Krabs punishes the two for fighting, and ends the feud by giving them each another toy.
  • Death Glare: Both SpongeBob and Patrick give each other this as Mr. Krabs calls them out. Mr. Krabs then gives one to SpongeBob and Patrick himself after punishing them and asking if giving each of them another toy would resolve their feud.
  • Dissension Remorse: SpongeBob and Patrick immediately stop their brawl over Patty Pal when Mr. Krabs punishes them for feuding and gives each of them another toy to even it out.
  • Everyone Has Standards: As greedy as Krabs is, even he is appalled by the duo's petty fight, letting a toy get in the way of their friendship.
  • Feud Episode: Between SpongeBob and Patrick.
  • Gone Horribly Right: SpongeBob introducing the concept of sharing goes to Patrick's head and eventually refuses to share himself.
  • High-Pressure Emotion: SpongeBob's body rips apart to the sound of a steam engine whistle in frustration with Patrick refusing to share Patty Pal.
  • Hypocritical Humor: When Patrick decides the money is "all on him this time", he takes SpongeBob's wallet and says, "Have you learned nothing about sharing?".
  • If I Can't Have You…: Patrick eats the toy so SpongeBob can't have it.
  • Jerkass Ball: Patrick's pettiness has been taken to extreme lengths here for the sake of the episode. He even learns nothing by the end of the episode.
  • Karma Houdini: Patrick gets no fitting punishments for his selfishness. However, Mr. Krabs does punish them both for fighting over Patty Pal.
  • Kids' Meal Toy: An In-Universe example; SpongeBob buys Patrick a Krabby Kiddie meal (that the latter agreed to share with the former but didn't) and Patrick demands a refund when he finds there's no toy. Mr. Krabs, not wanting to lose any money, inserts some straw limbs and pickle eyes on a Krabby Patty and calls it a Krabby Patty-shaped toy. SpongeBob falls in love with it, naming it "Patty Pal." The whole plot of the episode is Patrick being stingy and selfish by not sharing the toy with SpongeBob, which devastates the latter and causes conflict throughout the episode.
  • Never My Fault:
Patrick: SpongeBob wouldn't let me play with it!
SpongeBob: All because you had it all night!
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Mr. Krabs calls out SpongeBob and Patrick for fighting over Patty Pal.
Mr. Krabs: [immediately runs over following SpongeBob's Big "NO!"] Avast, there, laddies! What's all this ruckerus about now?!
SpongeBob: It's our Krabby Patty toy, Mr. Krabs, and Patrick ate it, so that I couldn't play with it!
Patrick: SpongeBob won't let me play with it!
SpongeBob: Only because you hogged it all night!
    Patrick: I did not!
    SpongeBob: Did too!
    Patrick: Nuh-uh!
    SpongeBob: Oh, you toy eater!
    Patrick: Tattletale!
Mr. Krabs: Whoa, whoa, whoa there, now! Settle down! All this brawling is over a toy?! You two shouldn't let a little trinket get between youse! You should be ashamed of yourselves. If I gave each of ya another toy, would that make you happy?!
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Mr. Krabs becomes one in the end when he resolves SpongeBob and Patrick's argument by giving them each a new Patty Pal.
  • Shout-Out: The title is a parody of Yours, Mine, and Ours.
  • Spoiled Brat: When Mr. Krabs manufactures a Patty Pal toy for Patrick and SpongeBob to share, Patrick goes out of his way to keep the toy for himself. Patrick has always been a Manchild and has had selfish tendencies before, but here, those traits are taken up to eleven, to the point of being a whiny jerk who complains when he doesn't get his way. He even goes as far as to eat the toy, screaming if he can't have it, no one does. It is that moment Mr. Krabs is summoned, punishes the two for fighting over the toy, and immediately resolves the feud.
  • Take a Third Option: How the argument is resolved. Patrick's lack of sharing leads to SpongeBob not being able to play with Patty Pal, resulting in a huge conflict. When Mr. Krabs arrives and hears of this, he punishes the two for their brawl and gives them each a Patty Pal to stop the feud.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: SpongeBob pays for Patrick's meal when Patrick couldn't afford it, yet Patrick does not repay SpongeBob in any way.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Mr. Krabs felt this way toward SpongeBob and Patrick, realizing the toy caused them to fight.

Original air date: 9/11/2010 (produced in 2009) note

Mr. Krabs takes SpongeBob to a cheapskate convention to prove how miserly Mr. Krabs truly is in front of the rest of the other crabs.

"Kracked Krabs" contains examples of:

  • Alliterative Title: Kracked Krabs.
  • Ambiguously Brown: Many of the crabs at the cheapskate convention can be heard talking in Middle Eastern and Yiddish accents.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Mr. Krabs' video has him scamming the customers into paying a dollar per footstep, Beuford's video has him scanning a grocery three times because it's "three times the flavor", and Dwight's video has him tie used toilet paper onto a clean roll.
  • Bad Liar: SpongeBob is shocked when he has to "lie" for Mr. Krabs, when he is told to "exaggerate" a speech for him to increase popularity to win. He ends up lying Mr. Krabs is generous, resulting in him disqualified.
  • Breather Episode: This episode takes a breather from two straight intense episode segments, instead focusing on a relaxing plotline where SpongeBob goes to a convention with Mr. Krabs.
  • Coin-on-a-String Trick: Mr. Krabs and the other crabs do this when tipping the bell boys at the hotel.
  • Cranium Compartment: SpongeBob literally "peels" his brain by ripping the top of his head apart, revealing the brain underneath.
  • Description Cut: Right when Mr. Krabs notes SpongeBob not lend anyone money, it cuts to him lending money to one of the crabs before he's caught.
  • Exact Words: In Beuford Barganbottom's video, he scans a grocery three times, because the label reads "Three times the flavor".
  • "Everybody Laughs" Ending: The episode ends with Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob sharing a happy and hearty laugh after he pinches his arm off as thanks for helping him win.
  • Gale-Force Sound: When summoning SpongeBob to his office over the intercom, Mr. Krabs screams his name so loud, it blows his face back and his facial features come flying out.
  • Hammerspace: Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob manages to squeeze into an envelope, resulting in it being very heavy when they go to the convention. One of the nominees also manages to stuff himself into one of Mr. Krabs' suitcases.
  • Kick the Dog: Mr. Krabs making customers pay in order to move one step.
  • Schmuck Bait: In Mr. Krabs' video, he tricks customers into thinking he is selling free krabby patties, then when they enter he charges them a dollar per footstep taken.
  • Secret Handshake: The Cheapskate one is done by Mr. Krabs and another attendee.
  • Stealing from the Hotel: Exaggerated; Spongebob helps Mr. Krabs not only steal stuff like towels and toiletries, but furniture and walls. While they get caught, trying to go home with the entire hotel room ends up winning Krabs the Cheapest Krab Award.
  • Rule of Three: Three crabs (Mr. Krabs included) have been nominated for Cheapest Krab.

"SPONGEBOB!"

Mr. Krabs' screams so loud over the intercom that it knocks SpongeBob's facial features right out of him.

How well does it match the trope?
