Sofia and James are going to ride in the flying derby championship race for the Flying Crown against the Junior Knights Academy. But when James sprains his wrist, the only person who can take his place is Prince Hugo, who has no desire to do any team plays and is more interested in being the first to cross the finish line.

- While stuck-up and aloof, Electra is less than pleased when Hugo quits because he doesn't know the first thing about being a good teammate.
- While Axel does bully Hugo into living up to their family's legacy, he is worried when his younger brother and Sofia try the flying slingshot, which the announcer says is a dangerous team play.
- Family Eye Resemblance: Axel and King Garrick have the exact same eyes. Subverted with Hugo, whose eyes are the same color but noticeably bigger.
- Freudian Excuse: Being bullied by his older brother would explain why Hugo himself was such a bully in "Just One of the Princes".

- Karma Houdini Warranty: While Sofia didn't intend to do so, she got back at Hugo for making her fall off Minimus in "Just One of the Princes" by throwing him around the race track into the haystacks and the fountain.
- Leeroy Jenkins: Sofia lampshades that Hugo is bigger than her, which is why she suggests he sling her, but Hugo wants to cross the finish line so badly that he insists she sling him instead. It doesn't go the way he hopes, and Sofia is only strong enough to fling him out of the saddle.
- Rebuilt Pedestal: While it's unknown if Amber's crush on Hugo is restored, she becomes friends with him again now that he's friends with Sofia at the end.
- This Is Going to Suck: The crowd's reaction when Sofia and Hugo try the flying slingshot and the announcer says that it's a dangerous teamplay.
