Enchanted Forest

Original air date: 1/10/2022 (produced in 2021)

Charlie and Pim get a surprise request from the princess of their town's local enchanted forest to help her smile for her portrait, eventually accompanied by a strange fellow called Mip after he rescues the two from a witch who was about to cook them. He also just so happens to be also seeking out the princess so that he can give her a gift, and thus the three set out on an adventure to the castle. On their journey, Charlie finds himself going on an epic fantasy quest across the enchanted forest and receiving the fame and fortune that comes with it with Pim and Mip accompanying him, the former finding himself overwhelmed with jealousy at Charlie getting to have so much fun.

In Memoriam Gag: Doctor Terence Nimbulon II (1958-2012)

Enchanted Forest contains examples of...

  • Accidental Hero: Both Charlie and Pim accidentally killed Mip, not knowing he was a stalker who planned to kill the princess for blocking and avoiding him.
  • Brick Joke: It turns out that the headache potion that Mip gave Charlie was either poisonous or had allergenic ingredients, given that Charlie's shown to be literally green around the gills at the end of the episode.
  • Character Death: Mip is knocked backward after his own "gift" is thrown into him and is impaled on a spear.
  • Darker and Edgier: Downplayed. The episode has a few serious elements to its plot, like the conflict between Pim and Charlie, but is still heavier on straight-up comedy than A Silly Halloween Special, which was almost entirely Horror Comedy. There's also the revelation that Mip was actually the princess's stalker, and his "gift" turned out to be an IED that he was trying to use to murder her with, and he was even trying to pin the blame on Pim.
  • Evil All Along: Mip. It turns out that he was the princess's stalker, and that his gift was actually an IED meant to kill the princess.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Charlie hogging all the adventuring with Mip for himself and leaving Pim by the wayside - which is especially galling to him since he'd wanted to go questing in the Enchanted Forest since childhood, while Charlie was adamant about not going into one in the beginning - leaves him to be so consumed by jealousy that he turns into a shriveled, Gollum-like creature who tries and takes Mip's gift so he can deliver it to the princess himself. Luckily, he snaps out of it when Mip is killed.
  • Irony: Mip made a bomb to kill the princess but he was the only victim of it.
  • Karmic Death: Mip was killed by his own bomb, as Pim accidentally threw it at him and he fell backward onto a spear.
  • Near-Villain Victory: Mip's gift turns out to be an IED that nearly kills Pim, Charlie, and the princess if it weren't for her throwing it out the window at the last second.
  • Shown Their Work: In a rather messed up example, the "gift" Mip wanted delivered to The Princess is a nearly-accurate recreation of one of the Unabomber's explosives.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Stating the Simple Solution: Pim, Charlie, and Mip come across a tree with a thorn in its side, hurting it. Pim proposes it's a riddle and tries to figure out what it means. Charlie suggests just pulling the thorn out.
  • Ultra Super Death Gore Fest Chainsawer 3000: Alan and Glep are shown playing a violent fighting game with claymation figures, with Alan performing a super move that causes his character to gun down Glep's character with a minigun.
  • Wham Line: The Princess reveals why she needed help smiling once she finds out the package is from Mip.
Princess: He was the entire reason I wasn't able to smile for my portrait. He's my stalker!
  • Wham Shot: The princess nervously opens Mip's "gift" box only to find an IED just about to go off. Good thing she chucks it out the window in the nick of time.
    Pim: JESUS CHRIST!
Charlie: OH MY GOD, THAT WAS A BOMB THE WHOLE TIME?!
