Summary: As the tournament continues, both Team Bowser and Team Sonic square off against strong opponents; Bowser in particular re-encounters a reincarnated Mewtwo and old enemy Ganondorf. At the same time, Liz decides to forge her own destiny.

- A Day in the Limelight: The remake is this for Liz, as her backstory is revealed and more focus is put on her motivations.
- Barbarian Tribe: The Moon Stone Tribe, a pack of wild Charizards whose sole purpose is to grow stronger. Liz is not only a member of this tribe, she is the heiress of it all.
- Black-Tie Infiltration: It's revealed that the BS Society's appearance at Bowser's house party in the previous episode was this.
- Chekhov's Gun: In the middle of the battle between Team Bowser and Team Ganon, Link tosses a bomb up into the air. When it lands, it explodes on both Meta Knight and Peach, KO'ing them both.
- Critical Status Buff: Lucario's Aura grants him more strength as he takes more damage, which allows him to defeat Bowser.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: If Link's word is anything to go by, Lucario single-handedly defeated all three of Team Falcon's members (we eventually see Falcon still buried in the ground after his beating). And this is before we learn that they belong to Team Ganon.
- Eaten Alive: How Sonic KO's Nana in the original episode: by throwing her into the mouth of a Bulborb on the Distant Planet stage. Averted in the remake, where he simply K.Os her traditionally.
- Energy Absorption: How Mario achieves his "Ice Mario" abilities: by absorbing the coldness of the Ice Climbers' attacks and channeling it through his body.
- Growling Gut: Liz's stomach growls in the midst of being questioned by Captain Falcon, scaring him in the process.
- Implied Death Threat: When Ganondorf arrives, he threatens Pit's life in order to coerce Bowser into coming quietly.
Ganondorf: (as the camera cuts to Pit) It's in your best interest to come with me in peace... or do you want another body piled on your conscience?
- Power Copying: Mario discovers that, by absorbing certain aspects of an enemy attack, he can take in the energy and acquire its power.
- Take Over the World: Pit seems concerned that this is the Moon Stone Tribe's intention, noting that they've claimed a startling amount of territory in less than a week.
- Tangled Family Tree: The Moon Stone Tribe are made up of inbreeds.
- That Man Is Dead: Uttered by Lucario, after Bowser recognizes him as a reincarnated Mewtwo.
Lucario: Mewtwo is dead. You killed him. I am Lucario!
- Worthy Opponent: Bowser considers Lucario to be this after witnessing his true strength.
- Would Hit a Girl / Would Hurt a Child: Sonic has no qualms punching out Nana and attempting to hit Squirtle, appalling both Popo and Ike.
