Summary: With Peach and Meta Knight off to Skyworld, Bowser, Wario and Lucario head to Saffron City and reunite with Liz. Things get complicated when Red, Liz's former Trainer, appears.

This episode contains tropes of:

  • Accidental Pervert: Played for Laughs. As Liz prepares to change out of her armor, she accuses Bowser being a peeping tom and chases him out. Bowser hastily apologizes... then remembers Liz is technically always naked, and calls her out.
  • Armored Dragons: Liz wears a custom suit of armor in her exhibition battles.
  • Farts on Fire: How Liz & Wario manage to dispatch Red and his team. Liz even dubs the attack "Windbreaker."
  • Mythology Gag: Several to the Pokemon series:
    • Saffron City's "Sabrina League" is named after Sabrina, the city's Psychic-Type Gym Leader in the Kanto Pokemon games.
    • Saffron City's "Emeraudefest" in honor of the Sky King is a reference to Pokemon Emerald, where Rayquaza acts as the main Legendary.
    • Between the white armor and the stage name, Liz's title of "Lady Reshiram" is a blatant Shout-Out to one of the Legendary dragons from Pokémon Black and White.
    • The tongue twister that Lucario has Liz recite is the exact same one in the Pokemon anime that Meowth observed in the classes for him to completely speak English.
    • When Wario is about to use the "Windbreaker" attack, he proclaims "Have a rotten day!", which is his original incarnation's Character Catchphrase in games like Wario World.
    • After Red suffers the effects of Liz and Wario's "Windbreaker" attack, he literally says "Red blacked out!" before fainting himself.
  • Power Stable: Wario is revealed to be the Manager for Liz, taking a cut of the profits from her victories.
  • Red Baron: Liz chooses the stage name "Lady Reshiram" when participating in Sabrina League exhibitions.
  • Series Continuity Error: Pit expresses shock and outrage at the existence of Meta Knight's Halberd, claiming that Meta Knight isn't licensed to fly something like that without registering it first. However, Pit had previously seen the Halberd back in Episode 3, where it was used as a stage for Meta Knight's battle with Toon Link. Granted, it wasn't being used as a vehicle for air travel, but Pit still should've recognized it.
  • Set Bonus: On their own, each of Red's Pokémon is incredibly powerful. But working as a team is the only way they can pull off Triple Finish, their Final Smash.
  • Ship Tease: Between Bowser and Liz, where after Liz is able to speak English, Bowser thinks to himself about when did she get so "cute."
  • A Storm Is Coming: A looming thunderstorm heralds the arrival of Sky King Rayquaza.
  • Switch to English: Throughout the series, Liz had been speaking in "animal tongue:" she had been taking English lessons from Bowser ever since they met. Lucario finally gets her to speak proper English after using a simple tongue twister.
  • World of Funny Animals: While Saffron City has made appearances in past episodes and filler moments, this is the first episode to reveal that all of its citizens are Pokemon.
