As a sudden and unexplained technical issues starts causing gadgets and tech around Skylands to start malfunction, Sprocket is tasked to join the team as an honorary member, not only because of her powers in the tech area, but also because Spyro is absent due to his conflicting thoughts on Eon after the last episode. However, Sprocket's expertise in the subject puts her in complications with Jet-Vac, who becomes more and more insecure about being the leader with her there.
This episode provides examples of:
- An Aesop: Just because someone is better than you at something doesn't mean they are there to replace you.
- Breather Episode: Focuses on Jet-Vac and Sprocket before the season finale.
- The Cavalry: Fisticuffs and Bomb Shell prove to be too much for the team (not helped by Jet-Vac and Sprocket's weapons not working). But just when they are about to be overwhelmed by them, Spyro appears and helps them take the villains down in an instant.
- Innocently Insensitive: Sprocket is only joining the team to help them, but her taking charge of them on occasion and fixing the malfunctioning tech boosts Jet-Vac’s insecurities about being the leader of the team, and starts feeling that she would be better off leading the team.
- Plot Armor: Bomb Shell at one point gains Super-Speed and places a bomb next to every team member, but all the bombs do is go into smoke and makes the team cough instead of actually exploding and properlly taking them out. This ends up being used against Bomb Shell, as Stealth Elf is fast enough to take her bomb to him, which takes him out.
- Police Are Useless: Despite there being workers at Cloudcracker Prison, it is apparent that they rely on the Skylanders to do all the heavy lifting if the inmates were presented with the chance to escape, as one of them immediately calls Eon when the gates at the prison starts opening and closing and not a single guard is present to assist the Skylanders when they arrive at the scene.
- Stock Scream: Twice. Once when a prison guard is calling Eon, and once when the Skylanders fight the inmates.
- Villain Team-Up: Fisticuffs and Bomb Shell join forces and use the malfunctioning portals to do evil.
