Jen finds herself stuck at Blonsky's retreat for the day.

Tropes:

  • Ambiguously Human: It's unclear if Saracen really is a vampire (since Loki and The Stinger of Eternals confirm vampires exist, and he's with a superhuman support group), or if he's just a delusional guy with Renfield's Syndrome (since he's seen out in the sunlight and doesn't display anything beyond obsession with blood). However, at one point his voice briefly becomes deep and echo-ey, which Jen notices.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: The support group wants Porcupine to take off his suit as part of his rehabilitation. When he does, they immediately recoil because his atrocious body odor from staying in it for so long is released. Emil even asks for him to put it back on until they can get it washed.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Josh and Jen hit it off immediately, and he seems to be the only person she's dated who likes her as Jen. He turns out to be working for whatever entity is trying to get a sample of She-Hulk's blood. In addition to that, he copies her phone's data and takes a creepy picture of her while she's sleeping.
  • Blatant Lies: Alejandro insists he isn't a matador despite the costume and sword.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Jen actually invokes a second "Previously on…" to reintroduce the Wrecker, who is staying at Blonsky's retreat.
  • Breather Episode: Subverted. The episode is fairly light and focuses on Jen getting over Josh ghosting her with the help of Blonsky's colorful and encouraging support group... but then the very end reveals Josh is actually one of the guys threatening She-Hulk through Intelligencia.
  • Brick Joke: When Porcupine finally takes off his suit, he is told to keep it on until he gets it cleaned. During the end credits it is revealed that Porcupine is taking his suit to a laundromat where the attendant also finds his suit smelly.
  • Cell Phones Are Useless: Blonsky's retreat has no cell coverage, or even an internet connection so she can use Wi-Fi. This is deliberate; no outside world distractions while healing.
  • Company Cross References: One scene has Jen watching The Great Muppet Caper, which is also available on Disney+.
  • Distinction Without a Difference: As Jen explains why she keeps checking her phone for a text from Josh, Porcupine asks if they "made love". Jen protests, saying she slept with him.
  • Eskimos Aren't Real: When Porcupine remarks, "Spanish is a language, not a nationality," El Aguila is appalled that he's apparently never heard of or forgotten the existence of Spain. Or even realizing that most, if not all, languages are named after the original nationality that spoke them.
  • Funetik Aksent: Minor example. When El Águila says Jen's name, the subtitles render it as "Hennifer".
  • Good-Times Montage: The episode opens with Jen going on a few dates with Josh. They eventually sleep together, and things go south from there when he seems to ghost her after that.
  • Heel–Face Turn:
    • Wrecker seems to have turned himself around from when he and the Wrecking Crew first attacked Jen and seems genuinely remorseful for his actions.
    • The episode overall cements Blonsky's own turn, as it turns out he was genuine in his desire to open a meditation retreat and offer counseling to other superhumans.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: Despite their fighting, Man-Bull and El Águila are inseparable. Blonsky repeatedly calls their relationship a codependency, and they're unhappy when he makes them sit apart.
  • Hypocritical Humor: While the group wants Porcupine to take off his suit, when he finally does, they insist he keeps it on as he presumably hasn’t washed it for a while.
  • I Always Wanted to Say That: When Man-Bull is asked to help push Jen's car out of the driveway, he quips, "I'm a Man-Bull, not a mechanical bull!" El Águila asks how long he's been waiting to use that line.
  • Ice-Cream Koan: Blonsky tries to wax philosophical about Jen's broken car, but Jen isn't having any of it.
Blonsky: Think of this totally knackered Prius Prime as your teacher.
Jen: Uhm... That was nothing. You just said nothing to a very straightforward question.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: Jen knocks back a shot of vodka before her first date with Josh.
  • Insistent Terminology: El Águila insists he is not a matador. He's a swashbuckler. Unfortunately, his colorful clothing, accent, and sword remind everyone else in the support group of a matador, and one of them even snarks that "swashbuckler" is not a job. Only made all the more humorous when he admits to working as a matador in his youth.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: Man-Bull makes a "mechanical bull" pun to protest having to help push Jen's car. Those around him aren't impressed at his wordplay.
Man-Bull: Do I look like a mechanic? My name is "Man-Bull" not "Mechanical-Bull"!
Alejandro: Wooow... How long have you been waiting to say that?
Jen: Yeah. That felt very forced.
  • Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane: Saracen claims that he is a vampire, though everyone acts like he's just delusional. Loki (2021) and The Stinger to Eternals confirmed that vampires exist in the MCU, and the fact that he is a part of Blonky's group implies that he is in some way superhuman, but he is seen outside in broad daylight just fine and he doesn't exhibit any other vampire characteristics other than a supposed bloodlust.
  • Monsters Anonymous: Jen engages with one while trapped at Blonsky's retreat. The group itself consists of former criminals and minor villains trying to reform. After reluctantly joining their session while looking for cellular signal, they help her realize that Josh didn't view their relationship the same way she did and that she should forget about him. This leads her to removing him from her phone.
  • Nice Guy: All the other superhumans at Blonsky's retreat are quite friendly and genuinely seem like good people who are just working through various issues.
  • Noodle Incident:
    • Among the scenes in the beginning, Jen is shown attending a meeting concerning a client whose "insurance policy covers acts of God", which she tunes out of in favor of texting with Josh.
    • And Man-Bull explains his backstory with a brief, "Weird science experiment, don't ask."
  • Not Staying for Breakfast: Jen awakens to an empty after her night with Josh. She and Nikki think it is just a mundane romantic thing, and the support group says he doesn't deserve her time if he ditches her like that. As it tuns out, Josh had a more sinister reason to flee in the middle of the night.
  • The Oner: The sequence of Jen getting ready for her first date with Josh is presented as one continuous shot, with her doing various things around the apartment before he arrives. Interestingly, she takes the time to close her bedroom door before changing, because she knows that the camera is watching.
  • Out of Focus: Nikki only appears in one scene in the episode.
  • Pet the Dog: While most of the members of the group are former super villains, they help Jen get through her sadness and insecurity when Josh doesn’t respond to any of her texts.
  • Portmanteau: The name of Blonsky's support group, Abomaste, is a combination of "Abomination" and "Namaste".
  • The Power of Friendship: Jen heals from Josh ghosting her with the support of Blonsky's support group, who help work through her feelings, say that she is great as both personas, and express solidarity with her. They also offer to beat him up on her behalf, but Wrecker reins that one in by saying that Jen deserves their support more than their violence.
  • Product Placement: Everyone is clear that Jen's car is a Prius (a Prius Prime, to be precise).
  • The Reveal: The reason Josh didn’t call Jen is shown at the end of episode, when it is revealed that not only is he in league with the people who want Jen’s blood, he's also one of the posters on The Intelligencia board, under the name "Hulk_King".
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons:
    • Saracen suggests Josh was just getting close to Jen in order to get her blood, but as it's established that Saracen believes he's a vampire and has a strange obsession with blood, everyone at the retreat thinks the notion is crazy. Turns out that's the exact reason Josh was trying to get close to Jen, although it seems he's not exactly interested in drinking it...
    • The other guys want to beat Josh up for ghosting Jen at first. Turns out they should have beaten him up not because he ghosted her but because he's willingly involved in a nefarious scheme.
  • Sudden Downer Ending: The episode is a funny one with a heartwarming conclusion. Then the last minute abruptly reveals that Josh is in cahoots with whoever wants Jen's blood.
  • Visible Odor: In the end credits, there's an illustration of Porcupine at a dry cleaner to get his suit cleaned, as he earlier promised. The suit he's handing to the wincing attendant has wisps of green emanating from it.
  • Wham Shot: After sorting out her issues with Josh, a flashback shows that Josh copied her cell phone, got a sample of her blood, reveals himself to be allied with HulkKing, AND took a voyeuristic photo of her sleeping naked.
