George gets his glasses stolen at the Health Club and needs a new pair. Kramer recommends his optometrist friend Dwayne, who will give George a 30% discount if he mentions Kramer. While at the optometrist office Elaine gets bitten by a dog and has to go to the hospital. George decides to chase after the dog owner but stops when he thinks he sees Jerry's girlfriend Amy kissing Jerry's cousin Jeffrey. Jerry then tries to get Amy to admit that she kissed Jeffrey. George mentions Kramer's name but doesn't get any discount. Elaine starts developing symptoms of rabies and tries to find out the identity of the dog's owner.
Tropes:
- Artistic License – Medicine: Elaine hurries to get a rabid shot after she begins displaying symptoms, and recovers. In real life, the vaccine is only effective before symptoms begin showing; once they begin, it’s considered “too late,” so she wouldn’t have been cured. Of course that’s assuming she really did contract rabies to begin with…
- Blind Without 'Em: George loses his glasses and mistakes such as thinking an onion is an apple, and thinking a random female cop and a a horse were Jerry's cousin and girlfriend.
- Brick Joke: Cousin Jeffrey is mentioned to look like a horse. At the end of the episode, George sees Jeffrey and Amy kissing again, but when he puts on his glasses, he sees that it was just a mounted policewoman kissing a horse on the forehead.
- Captain Obvious: When Kramer learns that Elaine is worried that she might have rabies, he aloofly states the painfully obvious and she snaps at him in kind, which is only heightened by the dog bite.Kramer: Oh that's fatal, you don't want that!
Elaine: I know I don't want it! I don't need you to tell me what I don't want, you stupid, hipster DOOFUS! - Recovered Addict: Dwayne the optometrist used to be addicted to sugar, before Kramer helped him. At the end of the episode however he's eating a candy bar.
