JD has to deal with a member of the board as a patient, Turk has to deal with Carla's mother (who doesn't like unmarried sex and bursts in on them with a brandished cane), and Eliot opens up to a patient who happens to be a psychiatrist.
- And I Must Scream: Eliot's patient is a psychiatrist whose mouth has been wired shut (and also is wearing a neck brace). She repeatedly treats him as her personal psychiatrist; he finally gives in.
- Embarrassing First Name: Jordan greets Dr. Cox as "Perry," something he tells J.D. to immediately forget.
- Entitled Bastard: Jordan is this in spades. A rich donor to the hospital who demands special treatment.
- Evil Gloating: Kelso gloats to Cox that he's about to be fired.
- Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: From Cox's perspective, this is how he keeps his job.
- Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: Jordan convinces the board to keep Cox on staff, because she has the money to make it happen.
