“Dearest Mamo-chan, the School Festival Day is here. My class is running a cafe. Our featured food item is a special cake that Makoto made! The delicious smell must have lured Seiya and the others back to school. But they're acting kinda strange. Is something bad going to happen us?!
Usagi Tsukino

Juuban High is holding it's school festival and the girls have set up a maid cafe. Among their guests include the Three Lights who are closing in on the scent of their sought-after princess, Sailor Lead Crow who is preparing a final attack against the school after learning Sailor Moon's identity thanks to her fallen rival, and a long-awaited visitor that changes everything.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • Accidental Pervert: Playfully discussed. Usagi jokes that Seiya can come off as a creep for trying to spy on her at night.
  • Badass in Distress: Usagi is rendered unconcious after her Star Seed is exposed and comes close to being stuck in a black hole forever were it not for Chibi Chibi and Princess Kakyuu.
  • Best Friend: Lead Crow openly calls Aluminum Siren her best friend.
  • Big Damn Heroes: With the combined efforts of Chibi Chibi and Princess Kakyuu, Usagi's Star Seed is preserved and the black hole is neutralized.
  • The Cameo: Sonako Ijuuin can be seen during the school festival.
  • Chekhov's Boomerang: Aluminum Siren was the only one who knew of Sailor Moon's identity and took that information with her to her grave. But it turns out that she wrote that secret in her diary which was found by her precious partner Lead Crow. It's also implied that she also wrote the identities of the Starlights in the same diary based on Crow's reaction to them.
  • Cliffhanger: The black hole is neutralized after Chibi Chibi uses the incense burner to summon Princess Kakyuu who also restores Usagi's Star Seed. Naturally, everyone is surprised and relieved to see the two princesses floating in mid-air.
  • Continuity Nod: Yaten converses with Taiki on how he too noticed the princess' scent on Chibi Chibi.
  • Cosplay Café: Usagi and her girl classmates dress up as French maids and attend to their guests via cafe service.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: The Inner Guardians are easily overpowered by Lead Crow's Whip of Dominance.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Involving an actual black hole. After Lead Crow gets caught in the miniature black hole she was using to threaten the Senshi, she struggles to break free. When she realizes it's no good, the moment she apologizes to Siren's memory for failing her is the exact moment the darkness finally overcomes her.
  • Flat "What": Seiya says this after Makoto reveals that she just ran out of her delicious cake.
  • The Gadfly: When Usagi tries out the maid uniform, she mentions the waist feels loose. After Makoto obliviously reveals she used Minako as the model, the look on Usagi's face shows she knew exactly what she was doing when everyone gives Minako a side eye.
Minako: You're trying to provoke me, aren't you?
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Minako is a tad annoyed over everyone in their class fawning over Usagi in her maid outfit.
  • Hoist by Her Own Petard: Courtesy of Nyanko's interference, Lead Crow's black hole ends up being broken which swallows her whole.
  • Implied Death Threat: After Crow boasts that she found a True Star Seed, Galaxia makes it clear that this is her final chance.
  • Internal Reveal: Tin Nyanko learns of Sailor Moon's Secret Identity and how she holds a true Star Seed.
  • No Body Left Behind: Lead Crow is swallowed whole by the black hole.
  • No Honor Among Thieves: Tin Nyanko sabotages Lead Crow's gambit by having her fall victim to her black hole while she can steal the Silver Crystal and present it to Galaxia.
  • An Offer You Can't Refuse: Lead Crow's ultimate gambit involves threatening to plunge all of Juuban High, including the festival attendees, into a black hole unless Sailor Moon surrenders her Star Seed. And given the circumstances, she accepts Lead Crow's demand.
  • Power of the Void: Lead Crow pulls out a black hole that's been compartmentalized in a red crystal tube. By breaking it, she can unleash the hole to absorb all of Juuban High if she wanted to.
  • School Festival: The theme of the episode in which Usagi, Minako and Makoto take part in a maid cafe theme.
  • Scary Shiny Glasses: Yaten and Taiki get these when they try to intimidate Chibi Chibi for her incense burner.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: After Usagi and Chibi Chibi end up sucked into the black hole, Tin Nyanko tries to leave for the day.
  • Taking You with Me: Lead Crow knows she's got nothing to lose at this point, and is willing to threaten the Senshi with a black hole and take them and God only knows how many civilians with her if she fails. She fails anyway thanks to Tin Nyanko, and the only one who dies is Lead Crow.
  • Talking to the Dead: While holding onto an old photo of her and her precious rival, Lead Crow asks Aluminum Siren to watch over her as she obtains a true Star Seed.
  • Wham Episode: Usagi's Star Seed is exposed to the enemy and Princess Kakyuu makes her grand entrance.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: None of the heroes approve of Yaten and Taiki's cold approach to Chibi Chibi. Rei in particular takes great offense to Yaten accusing Usagi of bewitching Seiya.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Discussed. Yaten criticizes Makoto for thinking that women and children should be exempt from being hurt by guys like him. He says this while preparing to strike at Makoto.
  • You Are Fat: After Usagi comments that her maid costume feels "loose", Makoto explains that she used Minako as the sewing dummy, hence the looseness.
