“Dearest Mamo-chan, I know this might sound really random but have you ever been to a Candy Land? What's that? A place like that doesn't exist? Wrong! It totally does! Anyways, things are getting a little crazy over here. Help me Mamo-chan!”
Usagi Tsukino

Chibi Chibi shows up with delicious desserts and a beautiful doll. Curious as to where she obtained such valuable trinkets, Usagi secretly follows her around Juuban alongside her girl friends and idol friends to solve the mystery of the nouveau petit estranger.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • Age-Appropriate Angst: Luna (and everyone else) criticize Usagi for believing in a make believe World of Sweets. Minako would also bring up how she's too old to be playing hide and seek with Chibi Chibi.
  • All for Nothing: Chibi Chibi spends the entire episode carrying around a porcelain doll that turns out to be incredibly valuable. After healing Sailor Antique, Sailor Moon applauds Chibs Squared for taking good care of the doll throughout the fight... at which point she gleefully tosses it on the floor, much to the abject horror of Sailor Moon and the Starlights.
  • Angry Guard Dog: Played for Laughs. The pit bull that Chibi Chibi befriends immediately chases after Usagi and the girls.
  • Bait-and-Switch:
    • The episode's beginning tricks us into thinking that Usagi is sensing something in a dramatic fashion. It then cuts to her smelling some nearby pizza which leaves her hungry.
    • Sailor Antique uses his final trick of summoning a white horse to attack. It's actually a toy horse on a single wheel.
  • Bare-Handed Blade Block: Sailor Moon does this when Sailor Antique attacks her with his sword.
  • Big Fancy House: Mr. Kiriyama lives in a wonderous but lonely mansion filled with lots of fancy, but expensive, antiques.
  • Call-Back:
    • Just like Moon and Mars in their first adventure, Aluminum Siren wants to formally greet the enemy only to be chastised by Lead Crow.
    • Sailor Antique's power-up pose brings to mind Sailor Chibi Moon's prayer pose when she does Twinkle Yell.
  • Cassandra Truth: After explaining how Chibi Chibi has tons of sweets on her, Usagi leads Ikuko to the living room only to find that the little girl vamoosed.
  • Continuity Nod: After Luna makes fun of Usagi for not recognizing her own daughter, Usagi brings up how she's just as guilty with how she handled Diana.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Usagi chases after her "little sister" into heavy traffic without considering how she herself would evade the passing cars.
  • Don't Try This at Home: After Chibi Chibi survives walking through traffic, Luna and Artemis appear with warning signs and tell the kids at home to use the crosswalk and follow traffic rules.
  • Driving Question: While alone in her room, Usagi genuinely wonders who is Chibi Chibi and what her damage is. Luna is curious over whether she's Usagi's child or Chibi-Usa's child.
  • Friendly Tickle Torture: Chibi Chibi uses a feather to tickle Sailor Antique's belly so he can stop his sword attack on Moon.
  • Hero of Another Story: Rei and Makoto are shown to have been hanging out together just before they bump into Usagi. The same applied to Ami, Minako and Artemis doing their own stuff.
  • Honest Corporate Executive: Mr. Kiriyama seems to be this type. He's described as the head honcho of a major conglomerate who's had a major influence in Japan's economy. Despite his wealth and power, there's nothing to suggest that he uses questionable methods to maintain himself and he's quite courteous to Chibi Chibi and the teen guests.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: After boasting that the Sailor Guardians will never defeat him, a chandelier falls on Sailor Antique's head.
  • Mass "Oh, Crap!":
    • Usagi, Rei and Makoto are scared silly when Chibi Chibi falls off a large wall. She turns out okay thanks to her Parasol Parachute.
    • The Inners and Three Lights briefly panic when Rei almost wrecks an incredibly expensive piece of modern art.
  • Money to Throw Away: Kiriyama is so rich that he doesn't mind his little guest destroying his priceless antiques. It does help that she's a little girl who doesn't know any better.
  • Never My Fault: As the Inners are being chased by that big bull dog, Minako states the obvious by exclaiming it doesn't like them to which Rei angrily responds with "WHO DID YOU SAY IT DOESN'T LIKE?!"
  • Offscreen Teleportation: After Double Chibs turns a corner, Usagi and Luna run after her only to find that she disappeared. Bun Head even questions the possibility of her being an esper.
  • Oh, Crap!: Artemis blubbers like a madman when he sees the nouveau petit estranger walk into heavy traffic.
  • Pose of Supplication: Usagi greets her mother with a traditional bow with the hopes of earning whatever treats she brought from the store.
  • Pragmatic Adaptation: In the original version, Sailor Moon chastises the Sailor Animamates for interfering with an old man's loving heart towards small children... In Viz, she just refers to Kiriyama as a kind old gentleman.
  • Priceless Ming Vase:
    • Everything in Kiriyama's house is valued between a thousand to a couple million yen. Even the doll Chibi Chibi has been carrying is worth ten million.
    • As Sailor Antique, he weaponizes this by tossing random antiques in his living room expecting Sailor Moon to catch them.
  • Secret-Keeper: Minako and Rei openly bring up Double Chibs being Chibs' daughter which is overhead by Seiya. Minako tries to brush it off as an inside joke between them.
  • Seen It All: Usagi announcing her belief that Chibi Chibi's getting her candy from a World of Sweets doesn't even illicit a response from Minako, in contrast to Seiya who is visibly weirded out.
  • Self-Deprecation: Sailor Antique and his horse-themed attack are all blatant shots at the previous season for how unpopular it was, especially due to a certain creepy horse.
  • Shout-Out: In the Viz Dub, after escaping death via car collision, Usagi questions how that frog does it.
  • Skewed Priorities: Once Aluminum Siren and Lead Crow get ready to attack Mr. Kiriyama, Siren's worried... because they didn't introduce themselves first.
Siren: Is it okay? We haven't even introduced ourselves!
Crow: That is not what we need to worry about!
  • Sugar Bowl: Usagi theorizes that Chibi Chibi found herself a World of Sweets which is how she always ends up with so much treats.
  • Stupidest Thing I've Ever Heard: Yaten outright calls Usagi's idea of a World of Sweets to be the stupidest thing he's ever heard of.
  • Touché: Usagi defends herself from Luna making fun of her for not recognizing Chibi Chibi by mentioning how she didn't recognize Diana. Luna sheepishly admits defeat.
  • Wing Ding Eyes: Usagi's eyes turn into ninja stars as she looks at Chibi Chibi's dessert table.
  • Worth It: While Yaten thinks of the big mystery as weird and dumb, Seiya admits that he had fun and Taiki enjoyed seeing the valuable art.
  • You Remind Me of X: The heroes openly discuss who Chibi Chibi takes after: Usagi or Chibi-Usa.
    • After Chibi Chibi gifts her a snack, Usagi commends her for being nothing like her daughter Chibi-Usa. But after seeing her being respectful to the passing civilians and returning some lost money, Rei and Minako believe her to be like Chibi-Usa.
    • During the noisy chase, Makoto brings up how Chibi Chibi befriending a scary pit bull is similar to Usagi befriending anyone without fear or prejudice. Kiriyama throws his two cents by pointing out how the two share the same warm energy.
