"Have you ever thought about what makes a Pure Heart? To me a Pure Heart is something that comes from the love and friendship you feel towards others. It gives me the strength to overcome anything. And remember, even if you return to the future, our hearts will always stay connected. Bye Chibi-usa, please take care!”
Usagi Tsukino

(CWi Episode: "Tough Kindness")

Chibi-Usa receives a letter from her mom asking her to come home. This prompts the Sailor Guardians to throw a goodbye party for her. After she leaves, however, one last Daimon has emerged from the rubble of Mugen Academy.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • Anger Born of Worry: Once Rei finishes yelling at Usagi for making a deal out of her calling her bunny backpack gift a puppy, she gives her a band-aid to treat her fingers.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: For all their fighting, arguing and name calling, the scene where Usagi gives her final farewell to Chibi-Usa shows how much they truly care for each other.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Chibi Moon shows up to distract the Rangy before she can reap Sailor Moon's Pure Heart.
  • Book Ends: How fitting that the last Daimon of the season would fuse with the same oven machine used to bring her sisters to life.
  • But Now I Must Go: Now that her training in the past has been complete, Chibi-usa is called by her mother to return home.
  • Call-Back: Rei's gift for Chibi-Usa is a cassette of songs she wrote and sang herself.
  • Cartoon Creature: Rei mistakes Usagi's bunny backpack for a puppy.
  • Close-Call Haircut: Jupiter's ponytail gets burned after dodging a heat attack from Rangy.
  • Comically Missing the Point: While out on the veranda looking at the full moon, Usagi tells Mamoru that she's cold and would like him to "warm her up". To her dismay, Mamoru misinterprets it as going inside to make her hot chocolate.
  • Continuity Nod: After Usagi tells her friends about her future self's letter, Minako worries if she forgot to include the kanji (if it was written by a 5-year-old in the Viz dub).
  • Convenience Store Gift Shopping: Mamoru gifts Chibi-Usa a rose instead of a more original idea.
  • Foregone Conclusion: Anyone who's read the manga is more than aware that Chibi-Usa would not be leaving anytime soon.
  • Friendship Moment: Chibi-usa is amazed to see that for all their bickering and name-calling, Usagi and Rei still cherish each other as true friends.
  • I Choose to Stay: Ultimately, Chibi-usa decides to stay in the present and her parents are accepting of her decision.
  • Innocently Insensitive: The Inners initially believe that it would be best for Chibi-Usa to return to the future now that the Death Busters have been dealt with and so she can spend time with her parents again. But they push her to accept this even though she hasn't decided when she wants to go back, which in turn makes it feel like they want her gone from their lives.
  • It Was with You All Along: With Tuxedo Mask's help, Sailor Moon gets the confidence to use Moon Spiral Heart Attack to destroy Rangy.
  • Last Of Her Kind: Hidden within the ruins of Mugen Academy and under the remains of the Daimon eggs, the Daimon that would be Rangy is brought to life by a flash of lightning.
  • Running Away to Cry: Chibi-Usa runs away from the park in order to cry over how much she'd miss everyone if she was forced to leave.
  • Security Blanket: Seeing it's master tear up over her fear of having to leave everyone, Luna-P hovers next to Chibi-Usa so she can hug it.
  • Single-Task Robot: Played With regarding Rangy. She's more of a genetic cyborg instead of a flat-out robot but she has the single-minded goal of collecting Pure Hearts by any means necessary.
  • Super Power Lottery: Rangy is exceptionally dangerous because she has more than one quirk at her disposal. Such as Advanced Intelligence, Super-Speed, Heat Wave, Extendable Arms and Electrical Wiring.
  • Surprise Party: The Inner girls decide to hold a going away party for Chibi-usa for her upcoming departure.
  • Teen Genius: Ami's ingenuity knows no bounds as her gift for Chibi-usa is a videos game featuring all of them as characters.
  • Trying Not to Cry: Both Usagi and Chibi-Usa do their best not to cry for the latter's leaving. But they end up crying when the moment finally arrives.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: When Ami brings up her gift for Chibi-Usa, Minako assumes that it's another study program.
