“Come on! It's just not fair that I'm the only one has to be a Sailor Guardian again! Hurry up and bring back the others! And exactly who are Ail and En? Are they connected to these evil monsters? Oh, I feel like my brain's gonna explode! I am Sailor Moon! In the Name of the Moon, I'll punish you!”
Usagi Tsukino

(DiC Episode: "So You Want To Be In Pictures")

While she may continue her old job as the champion of love and justice, Usagi is driven to ensure that her old friends won't have to fight again like her. But fate has other plans when all four of them, plus Naru, are called to attend a TV audition which turns out to be a trap by the Makaiju Aliens.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • Amnesiac Lover: After Usagi fails to cuddle with Mamoru in public, she realizes that he too has lost his memories.
  • Badass Normal: Rei and Makoto use their original powers (Paper Talisman and physical violence respectively) to take on Minotauron.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Luna restores the memories of the other girls to go help Sailor Moon, who is in trouble against Minotouron.
  • The Cameo: Mikan Shiratori from Season 1 appears as a victim of En's energy absorption.
  • Character Development: In the past, Usagi constantly relied on her friends or others to save her and do the heavy lifting when it came to fighting monsters. In the present, she's willing to carry that burden by herself if it ensures that her friends will get to live their lives in peace.
  • Combination Attack: Mars and Venus use Fire Soul and Crescent Beam to destroy Minatouron.
  • Contrived Coincidence: The four Inner Guardians were all called in for potential auditions for an upcoming TV drama. And of course, the monster of the episode just so happens to be there too.
  • Dub Name Change: Minotouron is just "Minotaur" in the DIC version.
  • Designated Victim: Naru once again falls victim to another energy stealing scheme. She even mentions her doomed role to Usagi before going to the audition.
Naru: You know how I seem to have a knack for getting involved in strange situations? I'm worried this might be another one of those...
  • Did I Just Say That Out Loud?: Rei openly expresses disappointment at Sailor Moon's lackluster performance and believes she needs to save her. She would then question why she said that out loud.
  • Give Him a Normal Life: Artemis and Usagi are unwilling to return the memories of the Sailor Guardians because they don't want to spoil their current peaceful lives.
  • Godzilla Threshold: After Minotouron has Sailor Moon overpowered, Luna has no choice but to restore the memories of the other Guardians to go help her.
  • Have We Met?: Rei openly asks the girls if they met after their first introduction.
  • He's Back!: Well, They're back. After reincarnating and having their prior memories erased, Sailor Moon and the Sailor Guardians are all back in action.
  • Horn Attack: Minotouran can extend her horns to large lengths which can cause great damage and also steal energy from potential victims.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: Usagi offers to support Naru at her audition so she can get a shot at being a famous actress in the new TV drama.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: While trying to prove to the cats that she's capable of handling the evil forces on her own, Usagi ends up hitting her face with the ball she threw.
  • Loves the Sound of Screaming: Ail shamelessly admits to enjoy hearing the screams of women.
  • Love Triangle: Usagi gets a rival in Natsumi Ginga when she reveals that she's hopelessly infatuated with Mamoru.
  • Magical Eye: En uses her special eyes to attack the TV producers which renders them unconscious.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • Sailor Moon gets this when she realizes that her Moon Stick was lost in the final battle.
    • Luna does this after Minako catches her talking in front of them.
  • Our Minotaurs Are Different: The Cardian Minotauron resembles an alien woman with long horns that can extend and sap out energy.
  • The Reveal: Mamoru is shown to have a job at the Shibata TV station.
  • Ruins for Ruins' Sake: The TV set resembles a bunch of ruins with an outer space backdrop. It helps that the Cardian is based on the monster of Greek mythology.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Rather then drag out the energy absorption process from the main girls with Ail, En decides to venture out in her human form to steal energy on her own.
  • Skewed Priorities: Both Usagi and Natsumi forget their personal missions in order to spend time with Mamoru at his day job.
  • Status Quo Is God: Despite her best efforts, Luna ultimately returns the memories of the Inner Guardians so they can help Sailor Moon.
  • Villain Ball: Ail and En could have drained the TV producers of their energy to support their tree. But they'd rather wait to take the energy from the Inner Guardians.
  • What Is This Feeling?: The Inner girls gain a sense of familiarity when they introduce themselves in front of the TV station.
  • Wrong Assumption: Sailor Moon initially believed that the Minotauron was a regular girl who was turned into a monster.
