Recap / Runescape Elemental Workshop II

Go To

In the exam center at the Varrock Digsite, there is a beaten book with a scroll in it. The scroll contains directions to the key to the next level of the Elemental Workshop, and the book, which is the Book of the Elemental Helm, contains the secrets to priming Elemental Metal and infusing it with Mind power.

The book also tells the story of how this was discovered. A metallurgist named Vitruvius discovered how to prime the ore using a further series of elemental techniques, and his apprentice accidentally discovered the process of infusing the metal with Mind energy in the process of trying to animate some of it for a prank. Unfortunately, the apprentice drew his entire consciousness into the metal, which reduced his body to an Empty Shell. Vitruvius was unable to retrieve his wayward apprentice, who he afterwards in his notes referred to as 'Idiot'.

With the knowledge contained in the book, you too can prime an elemental bar and turn it into Mind metal (you won't accidentally infuse yourself into the metal, unlike the apprentice), after you fix up the equipment necessary. First, the bar must be dipped in lava (Fire), pressed by a crusher (Earth), then quenched in a water tank (Water), and finally cooled down by a fan (Air). The bar is then primed, and on the third level of the workshop, there's a machine that will extract Mind energy from you (which will temporarily drain your magic level). You can then use the Beaten Book to create a Mind Helm.

Congratulations, quest complete!
