PRIDE desperately tries to clean up the latest mess without involving Jonah, but the group may not be able to handle it without help.

  • Bilingual Dialogue:
    • Molly and her cousin Graciela speak Spanish in some scenes.
    • Robert and Tina have a hushed conversation in Japanese after she destroys the box to save him.
  • Can't Kill You, Still Need You: Normally, PRIDE wouldn't be that concerned with Victor dying, but Jonah says he's still needed, and is in fact more important than every other member.
  • Cat Fight: Defied. Jonah notes that he'd very much like to see Tina and Leslie go at it, but sadly they don't have the time.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Literal example: when arriving at the Steins' mansion, Geoffrey makes a show of bringing his gun with him. When Dale grabs the revolver Janet used to shoot Victor, Geoffrey manages to sneak up on Dale and put his gun to Dale's head.
  • *Click* Hello: Geoffrey, holding a gun, pulls this on Dale.
  • Dramatic Drop: In flashback, Amy drops her cup when Alex tells her someone's hacked her laptop.
  • Everyone Can See It: In a flashback, Amy aks when Alex is going to work up the nerve to ask out Nico, saying that she figured out Alex liked Nico when the they were eleven.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: Janet pours herself a glass of scotch after taking Chase upstairs. Chase says he'll take one himself; Janet seems about to say no, then thinks about it before deciding "screw it" and pouring her underage son a glass.
  • Mythology Gag: "Tsunami", the episode title, is also the name of the Marvel Comics imprint that originally published Runaways.
  • Noodle Incident: Geoffrey says that the last time they got a "tsunami" message, they found the Hernandezes "in pieces".
  • Not That Kind of Doctor: The Yorkeses are bioengineers, not surgeons.
Catherine: You went to medical school.
    Stacey: Yeah, in the nineties.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Dale, the goofy one, grabs a gun as soon their kids are mentioned as targets.
  • Open Heart Dentistry: The PRIDE refuses to bring Victor to a hospital, since the gun Janet shot him with is registered to the Minorus. They instead enlist the Yorkeses (bioengineers) to perform emergency surgery on him in his lab using household supplies. Despite lacking most of what they need, the Yorkes are able to close Victor's wound, but the amount of blood loss he's suffered means that he'll die without proper supplies.
  • Papa Wolf: After Jonah threatens PRIDE with killing their children, the parents begin arguing on who will go in the box. Dale grabs Janet's gun and tells everyone to stop arguing and make a decision, saying that he draws the line when Gert and Molly are threatened.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Inverted, Robert gives one to himself as he explains why he's the one who should be sacrificed.
  • Reliably Unreliable Guns: When Dale drops the revolver, it fires. Justified, since he had already cocked it.
  • The Reveal: The file Alex was trying to decrypt turns out to be the original blackmail video that forced all the PRIDE members to work for Jonah.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: All the efforts the kids went through to steal the files of their parents from Wizard and decrypt them are negated when Chase destroys the laptop.
  • Shout-Out: When Janet suggests picking the sacrifice with a show of hands, Dale tells her this isn't Survivor.
  • Take Me Instead: Robert attempts to sacrifice himself in lieu of Janet, because he blames himself for being unable to protect Amy.
Robert: I couldn't protect Amy. And Janet saves her child, and for that, she needs to die?! Yes...this is the honorable thing to do.
  • Title Drop: "Tsunami" is the PRIDE's code for an emergency.
  • Travelling at the Speed of Plot: Dale, Stacey, and Leslie show up so fast at the Steins' workshop/basement that you'd think they teleported. The scene prior to Leslie's arrival has her overhearing Karolina leaving a message at Nico's voicemail.
  • What Are Records?: When Molly opens the locker her parents left her a key for, she finds a VHS tape inside, and has no idea what it is.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: The reaction from the entire group when Chase breaks Alex's laptop destroying the only proof they have of Pride's activities.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Jonah says that if Victor dies, he'll not only kill the rest of PRIDE, but also their children. Then, when they're still wavering, Jonah says either Janet will be the sacrifice, or Chase will.
