"Sister Act" provides examples of:

  • Cool Big Sis: At the end of the episode, Tommy sees Angelica as a big sister to him and his friends because she bosses them around a lot, and bossing people around is a job for big sisters.
  • Rule of Three: Angelica hires three of the babies to be her younger sibling. First Tommy, then Kimi, then Chuckie. Unfortunately, none of them work out for her. Tommy because he was unable to help her win the tickets she needed to buy a Cynthia beach house, Kimi because she pushed her off the swing, and Chuckie because he couldn't keep anyone other than her off the slide.
  • Shout-Out: This episode's title is a reference to the 1992 film of the same name.
  • Siblings Wanted: This episode has Angelica feeling left out now that she's the only one in her family without a younger sibling, as well as express a desire to have one of her own.

"Spike's Nightscare" provides examples of:

  • Animals See in Monochrome: Spike's dream sequences are shown in black and white.
  • Continuity Nod: Spike's nightmare in this episode involves him being chased by the Turkey from "The Turkey Who Came To Dinner".
  • Dream Episode: The babies try to cheer up Spike when he appears to be having a nightmare.
  • Malaproper:
    • The babies mispronounce "nightmare" as "nightscare", hence this episode's title.
    • Phil and Lil mispronounce bottle as "bobble".
  • Match Cut: To help Spike when he has a nightmare, Angelica turns on a flashlight and places it in front of him. The screen transitons from the flashlight to the sun in Spike's dream.
  • Pet the Dog: A half-literal example; when the babies try to help out Spike when he has a nightmare, Angelica decides to help as well, without any real hesitation. She even compliments Tommy when it appears to work.
Angelica: Gotta hand it to you, Pickles. You sure do know your dog!
  • Senior Sleep-Cycle: When Phil and Lil get one of their bottles to give to Spike, Lou can be seen sleeping at a table in the background.

"Cuddle Bunny" provides examples of:

  • Birthday Episode: The episode takes place on Edwin Carmichael's birthday.
  • Call-Back: When Tommy finds out from Susie that Cuddle Bunny's a piñata, he brings up Angelica's birthday party, which indeed had a piñata.
  • Child Prodigy: Edwin's birthday party is filled with intellectual party games, such as a chess tournament, a poetry reading, and a trigonometry triathlon. Two of the presents that Edwin receives are a spore farm kit and a laser (the latter of which he builds with his friends).
  • Imagine Spot: Kimi has one where she and her friends are in "Cuddle Bunny Land," a magical land where Cuddle Bunny is a living creature.
  • Malaproper: The babies mispronounce "piñata" as "peanutter".
  • Mistaken for Dog: Stu gets a donkey piñata for Edwin's birthday partynote , which Kimi mistakes for a rabbit, naming him "Cuddle Bunny".
  • Mourning an Object: When Cuddle Bunny is inevitably smashed, the babies gather around him and cry while funeral music plays. Fortunately for them, Stu is able to fix him.
  • Noodle Incident: When Susie tells the babies that Cuddle Bunny's a piñata, Tommy asks Chuckie if he remembers what happened at Angelica's birthday party. Chuckie tells him he does, as on that day, Angelica popped Polly Poodles, his balloon animal.
  • Pink Girl, Blue Boy: After Edwin opens a present that housed a spore farm kit, Phil takes the blue ribbon that was used to decorate it and puts it in his hair to pretend to be Lil, who wears a pink ribbon in her hair.
