Piece of Cake

Angelica becomes a superstar after she eats a cake.

"Dil Saver" provides examples of:

  • Aesop Amnesia: While it may be justified due to Tommy's young age, Tommy should have known better than to wish for something bad to happen to someone who knocked over his block tower (a member of his family, no less).
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: After Dil knocks down a tower of blocks the other babies built, Tommy wishes Dil would go away. Following some trickery from Angelica and a photo of Dil being used as a background for Stu's computer, Tommy believes that Dil is trapped in the computer, and is desperate to get him out.
  • Big Brother Instinct: While Tommy does wish for Dil to go away after Dil knocks over his block tower, when Angelica tricks him into thinking Dil is trapped in the computer, he is desperate to get him out.
  • Comically Missing the Point:
    • After the babies tape a diaper onto Stu's computer, they think Dil might still be cold, since they heard Stu say that his computer freezes up sometimes.
    • When Chuckie thinks that Dil may be hungry, he tells Tommy that he heard that computers have menus. Chuckie later says he thinks there's a button to help Dil chew, and when Tommy presses a button that says "Delete", he thinks it says "Dil eat."
    • When Tommy worries about how he's going to get Dil out of Stu's computer, Chuckie says that Dil could probably crawl out, since he heard somebody say computers have Windows.
    • When Stu's computer asks Tommy, "Do you want to send?" Tommy tells the computer to send Dil back to him.
  • The Diaper Change: Lulu changes Dil's diaper as Stu shows Lou the baby montior and computer in his office.
  • It's Been Done: When Lou comes into Stu's office, Stu tells him about the baby monitor and the scanner for his computer. Given Stu's hit-or-miss track record when it comes to his inventions, Lou tells him that he finally invented two good things. Stu tells Lou that he didn't invent either of those.
  • Malaproper:
    • Angelica mispronounces "Gullible" as "Gulliver".
    • Angelica and the babies mispronounce "Computer" as "Compooper".
  • Possession Presumes Guilt: When Angelica sees the state of Stu's computer thanks to the babies (having fallen on the floor and having diaper rash cream, a diaper, Dil's pajamas, and a splattered banana on its screen), she says, "Those babies are in so much trouble!" Stu then goes into his office, and since Angelica is the only one near the computer (since the babies are all now in Dil's bedroom), he thinks Angelica was the one who messed up his computer and shouts at her.
  • Punny Title: This episode's title has a double meaning; not only is Tommy desperate to save Dil when he believes he is trapped in the computer, but this title also refers to "screensaver", which is used when a computer goes into sleep mode to prevent screen burns.
  • Rimshot: One plays after this exchange:
Angelica: (referring to Dil) He's not on TV. He's trapped inside the compooper!
Phil: How do you get in there?
Angelica: I bet Tommy knows. It was his fault!
Tommy: Was not! Nobody gets disappeareded just cause' somebody wishes it.
Phil: Yeah, Angelica. You're still here!
  • Say My Name: This episode ends with Stu shouting "ANGELICA!" after he finds her next to his computer, which has fallen on the floor and has diaper rash cream, a diaper, Dil's pajamas, and a splattered banana on its screen.
  • Toilet Humor:
    • Dil can be heard farting as Lulu changes his diaper.
    • At one point, when Tommy asks Dil how to get him out of the computer, Dil shouts "Pee-pee!" over the baby monitor. Phil then asks, "Pee-pee? Now? Okay!", but Lil says that she thinks that Dil is referring to the letter P.
    • When the babies decide to change Dil's diaper, Phil says that he can have his dirty one. Chuckie then says he thinks Dil wants a clean one better.
  • We Want Our Jerk Back!: When the computer prints out a photo of Dil, it does nothing. Tommy tries to get the photo to act like Dil's bratty self to make sure Dil's all right, but to no avail.
  • Wearing It All Wrong: Lulu puts new clothes on Dil, including socks on his hands.

"Cooking With Phil and Lil" provides examples of:

  • Growling Gut: Kimi's stomach grumbles when she smells Didi's pie.
  • Human Ladder: Phil, Lil, and Kimi all form one to get Didi's pie, only to accidentally toss it into the air and ruin it.

"Piece of Cake" provides examples of:

  • All Just a Dream: Much of this episode's events are revealed to be a dream of Angelica's.
  • Assembly Line Fast-Forward: When Angelica Angelica acquires Granny Ginger Snap's Multinational Corporation, she has a factory that produces merchandise of her. When Angelica speeds up production, it overloads the machines and overloads the factory with merchandise.
  • It's All About Me: When Angelica acquires Granny Ginger Snap's Multinational Corporation, Angelica wants all the merchandise produced in the factory to feature her.
  • Sinister Sweet Tooth: Angelica eats an entire cake by herself, then she eats the babies' cookies and a ton of sweets at Granny Ginger Snap's Sweet Shop. Granny Ginger Snap says she hasn't met anyone with a sweet tooth like hers since her.
  • Sore Loser: When Susie loses the talent show to Angelica, she walks away cryingnote
