Go To

The fourteenth episode of the first season of Rugrats (2021).

The Pickles family try to make Tommy's first Chanukah special when they find out that it falls on Christmas Eve. In addition, they try to celebrate Las Posadas with Betty and her family with a nativity pageant. However, Angelica mistakes the Baby Jesus prop for a Christmas present and takes a liking to it, which results in the pageant's cancellation unless she and the babies can make things right.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Ambiguously Bi: Graham, the male hippie who appears in the pilot episode, seems to be attracted to Lou at first (especially since he's one of the people that Angelica accidentally sets her grandfather up with through the Silver Beagles app), but in this episode, he has a rather flirtatious exchange with Betty's aunt, Esperanza.
  • Christmas Episode: This serves as this for the 2021 series, combining it with Hanukkah Episode, as Tommy's first Chanukah takes place on Christmas Eve, and Didi tries to make sure both are special for him while at the same time, celebrating Las Posadas for Betty.
  • Extra-Long Episode: As with "The Werewoof Hunter" before it, this episode is 22 minutes in length.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Angelica. When she overhears from the adults that the Baby Jesus prop that she has mistaken for a Christmas Present and has taken a liking to has gone missing and that the nativity pageant can't go on without it, she worries that she'll be on the naughty list unless she can make things right, so she sends the babies to return the Baby Jesus. When Tommy tries to do so, he gets attacked by a goat. When Angelica sees this, she proves that she cares for her baby cousin by scaring off the goat, then telling Tommy that she owes him for getting him into her mess because he's been such a good cousin to her.
  • Mall Santa: The babies go to the mall to see Santa at the beginning of this episode.
  • Mistaken for Toilet: Lil mistakes the stand for the Pickles family's Christmas tree for a potty chair.
  • Silver Fox: Graham seems to really hit it off with Esperanza.
  • Special Edition Title: This episode's title sequence has the babies dressed in their Christmas attire.
  • Worth It: Angelica scares Chuckie with a tale of giant flying zombie deers, causing him to go hide in a closet. She then comments to her Cynthia doll that if Santa is watching, they may as well kiss the Glitterglamper Van goodbye. "But it was totally worth it."
