The guys celebrate their first Christmas in space and decide to tell some stories.

  • Skip's Story: The crew visit a snow planet but give themselves 10 minutes to enjoy themselves due to the day and night cycle affecting the inhabitants and turning them into yetis when the sun goes down.
  • Benson's 1st Story: The crew are celebrating the holiday when a caroler in rock garb offer to sing "The 12 Days Of Christmas" for them. However his rendition turns out to be very chaotic.
  • Mordecai and Rigby's Story: Mordecai and Rigby forget to get Pops present and are sent by Benson to find one despite it being Christmas Eve. They manage to find one mall still open but it depicts choices that they could make and the two have to keep themselves focused to achieve their task before the mall closes.
  • Benson's 2nd Story: Annoyed that the crew don't find handbells cool. Benson tells another story where he accidentally summons Krampus after he gets fed up with Rigby. When he tries to call him off, Krampus attacks the crew in response for wasting his time.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Art Shift: The Elevator in the Theoretical Mall goes through several floors/dimensions and its occupants go through several art shifts in the process; 1st dimension: everyone is one dimensional lines. 2nd dimension: everyone looks normal, but are actually flat, 3rd dimension: everyone is rounded and 3D; 4th dimension: everyone looks more realistic.
  • Asteroid Thicket: Benson’s first story is set in a Christmas-themed asteroid field.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Mordecai and Rigby end up creating tons of different versions of themselves because of how easily distracted they are by everything in the mall.
  • Bait-and-Switch: In Benson's 2nd story it seems like Benson is going to tell Rigby he's fired for setting the snack shack on fire and being snarky with him. But instead of telling him "You're fired!" he says "You're...BAD! YOU'RE A BAD BOY, AND YOU HAVE BEEN ALL YEAR!" So he decides to teach Rigby a lesson by giving an email to Krampus to scare him straight, which of course backfires when he learns that he's actually REAL!
  • Bigfoot, Sasquatch, and Yeti: The Celsian monsters resemble yetis.
  • Chaos of the Bells: Benson, Mordecai, Rigby, and Pops play this song, with hand bells of course, to defeat Krampus using the power of Christmas cheer.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The t-shirt cannon Rigby gives Skips for Christmas is what he uses to shoot cookies into the Christmas caroler’s mouth to defeat him.
  • Christmas Carolers: In Benson’s first story, the crew gets attacked by an electric guitar-playing Christmas caroler.
  • Deus ex Machina: As the park crew are surrounded and outnumbered by the Celsian snow monsters, they are rescued by "Ludlow the Laser-Nosed Reindeer".
  • Dreaming of a White Christmas: At the beginning of Benson’s Christmas caroler story, Mordecai mentions how nice it would be to have snow. Then when the caroler is given cookies, he and his twelve days of Christmas Mooks all explode into white snow that covers the house.
  • Everyone Hates Fruit Cakes: The evil monster Krampus ends up being made out of fruit cakes.
  • Expy: Ludlow the Laser-Nosed Reindeer is based on Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, in which Benson even points out that he is a "laser-nosed Rudolph rip-off."
  • Feathered Fiend: The group gets attacked by the birds summoned by the space Christmas caroler singing “The Twelve Days of Christmas”.
Rigby: Why does this song have so many birds?!
  • Here We Go Again!: After Mordecai and Rigby get the typewriter for Pops and escape their clones by leaving them in the imploding Theoretical Mall, Pops wonders if he should set up his new typewriter in the kitchen or his room and a duplicate of himself is created saying “We could do both, theoretically!”.
  • Human Snowman: When the Celsian monsters are playing with Skips, they turn him into one.
  • Improvised Weapon: The crew throws their Christmas gifts at the snow monsters when they’re surrounded.
Benson: There’s only one thing we can do: use your presents as weapons!
  • Insane Troll Logic: Averted. In Benson's Second Story, when it seems like Benson is going to fire Rigby, he instead calls him a bad boy, because he would have to be insane to fire him considering Rigby has nowhere to go, and Benson needs Rigby as part of the crew.
  • It's the Best Whatever, Ever!: At the end of Skips’ story, the group says “Best Christmas ever!”
  • Killer Rabbit: Celsian snow monsters are cute little munchkins by day, but turn into Abominable Snowman-like monsters by night.
  • The Krampus: The antagonist in Benson's second story.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: Krampus says a series of basket puns while he’s capturing the park crew, which they do not appreciate.
Krampus: A tisket, a tasket, I’ll put this green chunk-a-dunk in my basket!
Muscle Man: Stop! These puns are terrible!
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Benson points out that story telling is usually a Halloween thing.
  • Let There Be Snow: In Skips’ story, the group goes to the planet Celsius so they can have a white Christmas.
  • The Mall: Mordecai and Rigby’s story having them visit the “Theoretical Mall”.
  • Me's a Crowd: The third story involves Mordecai and Rigby visiting a mall in the fifth dimension that shows them all possible outcomes. Whichever choice they don't take ends up becoming a duplicate that did and soon ends up filling the entire mall with multiple versions of themselves.
  • Monochromatic Eyes: Krampus has blank white eyes.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: The Christmas caroler grows four extra arms for his “hand bell breakdown”.
  • Musical Assassin: The guitar playing caroler who terrorizes the park crew with a rendition of "The Twelve Days of Christmas".
  • Near-Miss Groin Attack: The ten drummers drumming hit a gong that produces a sound wave so strong that it knocks Benson and his drum set backwards. One of the cymbals gets shot like a blade into the wall right between his legs.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Benson took it personally by sending an email to Krampus just to scare Rigby only to figure it out that he was real!
  • One-Word Vocabulary: The only thing the snow monsters say is “Merry Christmas”.
  • Pin-Pulling Teeth: The Krampus uses his teeth to pull the pin on an ornament grenade.
  • Pre-Asskicking One-Liner: Parodied by Rigby right before he shoots Pops in the face with a t-shirt cannon.
    Rigby: Safe-tee not guaranteed.
  • Real After All: When the Krampus ends up being real and finds out they don’t actually want him to kidnap Rigby, the monster then sets his sights on Benson.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: The Celsian snow monsters get glowing red eyes after they transform once the sun goes down.
  • Run or Die: Several
    • The crew have to run for it when the sun goes down on Celsian as nightfall turns the inhabitants to monsters.
    • Mordecai and Rigby find themselves having to do this once they get the typewriter in the mall as, soon as it's announced that it will be closing, erases the building in the process.
  • Running Gag: Everyone but Benson thinks handbells are lame.
  • Santabomination: At the end of the episode, the crew is visited by the tentacled, three-eyed Space Santa who has hand bells for hands.
  • Sarcastic Clapping: Benson does this when Mordecai and Rigby are done telling their story.
  • Scare 'Em Straight: Not believing the monster’s actually real, Benson emails the Krampus to try to scare Rigby into behaving.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Three-Point Landing: Krampus does one after Pops shoots down his sleigh.
  • True Meaning of Christmas: When Rigby gets upset that Mordecai and Eileen are using the presents he gave them to fight off the monsters, Mordecai tells him that the real meaning of Christmas isn’t gifts, it’s spending time with friends. This revelation makes Ludlow the Laser-Nosed Reindeer appear, who shoots the monsters with his laser and reduces them to piles of ash.
  • Vignette Episode: Similar to the show’s Halloween episodes, this episode consists of four different Christmas-themed stories.
