Following the events of Merry Christmas Mordecai, Mordecai tries to make things right for what he did at the Christmas party and a street saxophonist may have the solution.
Tropes
- The Bus Came Back: Mordecai's mom makes an appearance and finally gives him the right advice for his situation.
- Call-Back: Mordecai's song from Butt Dial makes an appearance in the worst possible moment (apologizing to CJ for what happened at the Christmas party and assuring her that he and Margaret aren't getting back together).
- Earn Your Happy Ending: CJ does forgive Mordecai, however he had to really go through a lot to get to even be able to talk to her. He even ends up on the hospital after several construction workers beat him up for stealing the scissor lift.
- Jerkass Has a Point: Rigby warns Mordecai not to listen to Sad Sax because he gives "the worst advice in the world", citing an example of when Mordecai was failing sculpture back in art school, and Sad Sax gave him the wrong idea to make a sculpture of his instructor's "human form". Of course, Mordecai doesn't believe Rigby until it's too late as Sad Sax's romantic strategies continue to fail.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Mordecai tries to get Eileen to agree with him that what he did was wrong, but she shakes her head no and runs off.
- The Unreveal: We never do find out why Margaret was calling Mordecai. It could have been to apologize to Mordecai and try to talk to CJ about what happened (since they did show Margaret and Mordecai in the park apologizing), but that's left to fan speculation.
