Tropes
- Bad "Bad Acting": Mordecai and Rigby act pretty badly on their cameo at Carter And Briggs, who deliver their lines in a nervous and deadpan manner, and in Mordecai's case cough in the middle of his line, to the apparent annoyance of it's protagonists. Also Rigby breaks character when slammed on the car hood as his character's being arrested to remark how that actually hurt.
- The Cameo: Margaret, Eileen, and Thomas only appear at the end as part of the watch party.
- Loony Fan: The final round of the donut-spinning contest has the duo go against two Carter and Briggs superfans, who own a replica of the cop car used on the show and even copy their looks. They resort to cheating to try and win and they were even willing to kill Mordecai and Rigby in the process.
- Product Placement: In-Universe. Benson makes Mordecai and Rigby wear "The Park" t-shirts when they go on the show, to their annoyance.
- Shout-Out: Carter and Briggs is a rather thinly-veiled reference to Miami Vice.

- Spiking the Camera: In-Universe. While Mordecai and Rigby are on the show, they keep looking at the camera.
