- Foreshadowing: Sarge's hesitation to win completely is the first hint that he just simply cannot exist without an enemy to fight.
- Self-Serving Memory: Sarge, of course, remembers "deleting the Blues" a bit differently than what really happened. In his version, Simmons also increased his pay, turned into a motorcycle, and Sarge shot Grif and rode off on moto-Simmons.
