Rule of life: when on Saturn, always take a selfie afterward.
Written by: Joe Purdy

Jet and the gang, whilst hula hooping, wonder what causes Saturn's ring to stay up. They travel there and learn about Saturn's rings.

  • Affectionate Gesture to the Head: Jet gives one to Mindy towards the end of the episode.
  • Art Shift: When Face 9000 shows how gravity keeps Saturn's rings up, it's animated in 2D.
  • Bizarre Taste in Food: Carrot is busy making tomato and liver butter.
  • Captain's Log: Sean records a few Astronaut Logs, like that he should rethink planets, and that hula hooping is fun.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Celery had enough foresight to pack the kids' hoops so they could hula hoop on Saturn.
  • Failures on Ice: Sean continually slips while on a chunk of ice that helps make up one of Saturn's rings.
  • Mondegreen Gag: Sean tries to tell Jet and the others about the rings of Saturn at the beginning, but Jet states that he misheard "ice cream sundae", "Cincinnati" or "sauteed sausages".
  • Note to Self: Sean records one of these. "Work on balancing on ice in a low gravity outer space situation."
  • Pun: "You rang me up with some ring questions" courtesy of Face 9000.
  • Questioning Title?: One that gets answered in the episode.
  • Rule of Three: It takes Sean three (3) tries to tell the others about Saturn's rings, but the third time, Mindy takes credit for the idea.
  • Wink "Ding!": Sydney winks audibly when she tells Mindy that she'll bring back pictures of Saturn.

Sunspot's Night Out

*animal Ode to Joy intensifies*
Written by: Joe Purdy

Sunspot goes missing in the neighborhood suddenly, so it's up to Team Propulsion to track him down. They learn about how they can use the North Star to find him.

  • Cat Concerto: Sunspot participates in a neighborhood animal choir with some alley cats and Mitchell's dog Cody. They howl "Ode to Joy".
  • Eating Pet Food: Cody goes missing and Mitchell leaves a trail of dog treats for him to find. Jet and the gang stumble upon the trail while trying to find Sunspot, who's also missing. Jet almost eats a dog treat, but his friends warn him not to.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Mr. Peterson makes an early appearance. He is shown turning off his car alarm. However, he would make his official debut in the very next episode, "The Grandest Canyon".
  • Fun with Acronyms: Discussed. Jet thinks that "Operation Find Sunspot" is an acronym and asks what it stands for. However, it's not an acronym.
  • Malaproper: Mindy calls a constellation a "consternation".
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: The Propulsions note how uncharacteristic it is for Sunspot to miss dinner.
  • Pocket Dial: This trope is referenced when Face 9000 appears out of nowhere, and Jet wonders if he pocket-dialed him.
  • Public Domain Soundtrack: "Ode to Joy" in this case.
  • Say My Name: The whole gang shouts "MITCHELL!" when they run into Mitchell.
  • Tears of Joy: Surprisingly enough, Mitchell is shown wiping happy tears when he sees Cody perform in the animal choir.
  • Tropey, Come Home: Sunspot goes missing in the neighborhood, and the gang tracks him using the North Star. Mitchell's dog Cody also went missing. Turns out, they were both performing in an animal choir.
  • Two Lines, No Waiting: While the main characters search for Sunspot, Mitchell looks for Cody, who has also gone missing. Sunspot and Cody were actually missing for the same reason — they were both involved in an animal choir.
