Kane finds the "key" to the Interior Hangar. The Tech Marines will love inspecting this beast.

Kane and Morris have made it through the Air Defense Trenches and arrived in the Hangar Perimeter. Viper Squad is just down a hallway, but in your path is a Strogg Gunner who is upset with your intrusion. In a cutscene, the Gunner launches a grenade towards Kane, who backpedals to escape the blast. Then he and Morris fight the defensive Gunner, who holds along with his Guard minions.

After clearing the hallway, Kane and Morris meet Viper Squad at last. The Interior Hangar is interfering with communications, so Morris stays behind to relay communications so that an attack on the Hangar may commence. Corporal Mahler issues Kane a Shotgun suitable for tight quarters.

Before Kane and Viper Squad can break into the Interior Hangar, a reinforced glass panel needs to be circumvented, so Kane is ordered to scout around for a way inside. He finds a Strogg jet engine that he lowers onto a test bed in front of the glass; the engine is fired, melting the glass like ice. Now the group may proceed into the Hangar proper.

In summary, the Strogg Gunners are introduced and Kane receives his first Shotgun. This is also the first time Kane has both a Tech Marine and a Medic to mend his armor and health, respectively.
