Italian Title: L'ospite inattesa

Air date: October 27th, 2010

Kate arrives in Pocketville unexpectedly and is met by Oristolfo and the Royal Guards. All the Pocketville citizens are flustered with her as it is considered rare for a human to step foot on the Pocket Kingdom. Oristolfo tries to talk with Kate, but all she could hear from him was barking. Turns out that Kate needed to wear the Friendship Heart, whose remaining half is still on the collar, on her wrist in order to hear the pets speak, though William doubts it at first.

When Kate, Oristolfo, and the Guards are in the throne room, they discuss about how she got to Pocketville and what to do now that Princess Ava has gone missing. As Danny mentions that only Ava can perform Friendship Ceremonies, and without the Friendship Heart nor the water for the fountain, there would be no more Ceremonies and Kate would be stuck in Pocketville. Oristolfo recommends they consult Evershell about this, but William tells him off for telling too much facts to Kate, whom they haven't trusted yet. As the Guards are left alone to discuss about what to do with their new visitor, Kate and Oristolfo spend time snacking in the castle kitchen until the Guards are ready to take them around town for a test, including choosing a new name for Oristolfo: Magic.

The first test was to show courage. Kate enters the Bear Inn to see a giant shadow of a bear, which she wasn't startled by at all. Turns out the shadow belonged to the bashful little bear cub who runs the Inn and has a talent for creating origami out of napkins. The Guards were all impresses, except for Balloon, who thought Kate needed another test to go through so she could really be proven trustworthy.

The second test was to show kindness and helpfulness. As the beavers struggled to move the water wheel and part of the wheel began to splinter, Kate decided to dive underwater to where she would move the rock out of the way so the wheel can move again. Once again, the Guards were impressed all except Balloon, who gave her one final test: to not give in to greed. She tricks Kate into thinking the pebble she was holding was a magical stone that would make her the monarch, but Kate refuses and tells her they have to be faithful to Ava even if she's gone.

That night, the Guards escort Kate and Magic to Ava's bedroom, where they would sleep in for the night. As Kate became more homesick than ever and longing for her parents, Magic stayed by her side and comforted her, while the Royal Guards watch them from a handheld magic mirror in the throne room.

Meanwhile in the Ever Grey Swamp, Eva and her lackeys build their camp in the hollow of a dead tree, while Ava is revealed to be on the streets of the Big City.
