Season 3 Episode 4

The team is still reeling from Cutter's death when an anomaly at an air hangar unleashes the largest creature they've ever faced.

  • Bad People Abuse Animals: Johnson doesn't even bat an eye when watching her HQ's emergency containment procedure cause a Future Predator to die shrieking in pain, a far slower and nastier death than the quick and brutal means which the heroes prefer using to dispatch the Predators.
  • Big Damn Heroes: With Connor and Jenny locked in a storage bulding, Becker and his men stuck in traffic, and the Giganotosaurus running amok, suddenly Danny Quinn appears and rescues the trapped team.
  • Conveniently Empty Roads: There are a couple car chases against a Giganotosaurus on an open airfield strip, with no air traffic in sight apart from a grounded and inhabited plane.
  • Death by Cameo: Nigel Marven appears with the news crew to film a segment on the anomaly, and promptly gets eaten by the Giganotosaurus that comes through.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Mick and Katherine end up being Trampled Underfoot by the Giganotosaurus when Katherine insists on trying to film it as it chases Danny through the Anomaly.
  • Lured into a Trap: So that he and Katherine can film the anomaly undisturbed, Mick does this to Conner and Jenny when they arrive at the airport by pretending to lead them to the anomaly and locking them inside a storage hangar.
  • Mistaken for Cheating: Connor spends much of the episode assuming Abby is seeing a new man named Jack (in part because he's overly focused on trying to live up to Cutter's legacy and thinks Abby is feeling ignored). It's revealed at the end of the episode that Jack is actually Abby's brother who is staying over for a while.
  • Raptor Attack: The Velociraptor in this episode has the same look as the raptors from the previous season, so way too few feathers. It is actually the right size, though, but the wildlife presenter calls it a juvenile.
