The team has to deal with an anomaly that opens up in a hospital and a reporter who wants to learn the truth. When they had back to base, though, things take a turn for the tragic...
- The Hero Dies: Cutter dies after being shot by Helen, asking that Connor unravel the artifact's secrets. The entire team mourns him as the episode ends.
- Mood Whiplash: The episode starts off rather lightheartedly with the team trying to round up the cute and mostly harmless Diictodons, and help an expectant mother give birth amidst a power outage. Once the team returns the ARC however, the episode becomes much more serious in tone, culminating with Cutter's death at the hands of Helen.
- Nothing Is the Same Anymore: This episode marks the turning point in the season, as Cutter's death leads to the team undergoing significant changes and their mission shifts from containing the anomalies to finding out what Helen wants to do and trying to stop her.
- Wham Episode: Oh boy: it turns out that Helen has clones of people besides the cleaner, including Cutter, the base is severely damaged by a bomb, and Cutter dies.
