A special Chromite steals the Ranger's powers and creates Shadow copies of themselves. How can Tommy figure out to save his friends when their new mentor does not give him the answers?

- Artistic License – Geography: Ernie leaving to build a bridge in the Amazon makes little sense given how few roads there are around the basin. The main highway for transporting goods through the region has mainly been the Amazon River itself, not helping is that the area is sparsely populated aside from a few large cities.
- Evil Sounds Deep: The Shadow Rangers' voices are distorted compared to their originals vocals.
- Irony: Tommy with his history of being evil and being brainwashed on several occasions, is the only turbo ranger who doesn’t get a shadow ranger equivalent.
- Light Is Not Good: Very literally in this case since the Shadow Rangers are just clones of light.
- Psycho Rangers: The Shadow Rangers are this to the real Rangers. Tommy's the only one who doesn’t get one, ironically.
- Put on a Bus: Ernie leaves town to help his army buddies build a bridge within the Amazon.
- Real Life Writes the Plot: Richard Genelle was suffering health problems that forced him to leave the show.
