- Adaptational Badass: While Kat's Dekaranger equivalent fought as a Ranger in one episode, Kat is given an unmorphed battle before morphing.
- Hour of Power: Kat's emergency morpher only has an hour of charge.
- Oh, Crap!: When Kat tells Birdy about the generator powering the robot the Rangers are fighting and if it overheats it could destroy them, Birdy freezes in place and mutters "Great goose feathers."
- The Peter Principle: Kat's promotion, where she's informed she's going from hands-on research to managing teams to do it for her. They even seem to have copied the "You won't have to get your hands dirty."/"But I like getting my hands dirty." exchange from when Damon faced this in Lost Galaxy.
