- Didn't See That Coming: Zurgane surviving the destruction of the Hyper Zurganezord. Shimazu bemoans this turn of events, but Vexacus rectifies it soon enough.
- Five-Second Foreshadowing: After Zurgane is yet again defeated by the Rangers, he laments when his suffering at the hands of the Power Rangers will end. A few seconds later, Vexacus arrives and kills him.
- Foreshadowing: Both of Zurgane's swords get wrecked during his fight with Vexacus. Hunter will discover one of the pieces in the next episode, causing the Rangers to learn of this development.
- Freudian Slip: Vexacus insists that Zurgane will ultimately lose.Vexacus: We need to be ready when he is destroyed. Then, I will take my place as leader of Lothor's army.
Shimazu: You mean we will take our places.
Vexacus: Oh... yes, of course. - Guile Hero: The others use their gliders, cycles, and evasive tactics to keep Zurgane distracted long enough for Cam to finish repairing the Zords.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Vexacus attacks Zurgane with one of his own blades.
- Near-Villain Victory: The first fight with Hyper Zurganezord leaves the Zords in serious need of repairs and the Rangers forced to retreat. When he later loses the rematch, Zurgane bemoans how he was so close.
- Not-So-Harmless Villain: When leaving his Zord, Zurgane takes on five Rangers at once and effortlessly clobbers them.
- Oh, Crap!:
- Zurgane has a moment of horror when the Hurricane Ultrazord's Mammoth Megazord Blast blows up his Zord.
- Zurgane gets another one when he realizes that Vexacus is coming to kill him.
- Pet the Dog: After Zurgane explains he lost the previous battle on purpose so he could scan and copy the powers of the Rangers' Zords, Lothor is admittedly impressed and congratulates him.
- Post-Victory Collapse: Tori and Cam return to the campsite to find the other Rangers already snoozing.
- Pre-Mortem One-Liner: After Vexacus overpowers Zurgane, he tells the latter "I've come for a new general to lead. Your days are over, Zurgane. And mine are just beginning." Shortly afterwards, Vexacus uses his fan to slash Zurgane across his chest and before the latter explodes, he says "Goodbye, Zurgane."
- Properly Paranoid: Following the destruction of Zurganezord III, Cam suspects there was a bigger plan at play due to the battle seeming way too easy.
- Skyward Scream: Zurgane's Villainous Breakdown ultimately leads to this.
- The Starscream: Vexacus begins to stage a mutiny against his own generals by defeating Zurgane at the end of the episode.
- Taught by Experience: When the Mammothzord arrives during the rematch, Vexacus knows exactly what this means for the Hyper Zurganezord.
- Tempting Fate: An enraged Zurgane asks when his suffering will finally end. Vexacus gives him an answer, just not the one he was hoping for.
- Villainous Breakdown: Zurgane has one of these after the Rangers defeat him."Will there never be a day that is marked for victory? Will I always have to suffer at the hands of the Power Rangers? TELL ME, WHEN WILL IT END?!"note
- Wrecked Weapon: Both of Zurgane's swords get broken when he tries to block an energy blast from Vexaus.
- Xanatos Gambit: While watching the last Zord fight, Vexacus tells Shimazu that all they have to do is sit back and watch. No matter who wins this battle, one obstacle to his agenda will be ultimately eliminated.
