It's time for Ash to challenge the Battle Arena and win his second frontier symbol. The frontier brain is Arena Tycoon Greta, who uses the Fighting-types Medicham and Hariyama. Ash decides to quickly make a party adjustment before his battle. After it is decided that their battle will be two-on-two, Greta reveals her two Pokémon while Ash reveals that he will be using Grovyle and the result of his party adjustment, Snorlax. Grovyle loses the first round to Hariyama, but once Snorlax enters the battle, despite being a Normal-type, it proves to be the right choice as its strength and endurance more than make up for the type matchup, and it beats Hariyama. Greta then sends in Medicham and despite Snorlax getting frozen by Medicham's Ice Punch and slowly worn down, Ash has it aim Hyper Beam at the ground, with the force of the blast catapulting it into the air. It then crashes back down right on top of Medicham with Body Slam and knocks it out, winning Ash the match and his Guts symbol.
