- Character Development: Sophocles gets over his fear of the dark to continue the race.
- Continuity Nod: One of the reasons Sophocles knows he has to get over his fear is because of his dream of being an astronaut.
- Determinator: Despite the many obstacles he goes though during the race, Sophocles doesn't give up and is able to pull off a win.
- Took a Level in Badass: For winning the race, Sophocles gets a Buginium Z. And after being told of him stopping to help the other racers, Hapu gives him a Z-Ring to go with his prize.
