Recap / Paradise PDS 04 E 01 The Brozone Lair

Go To

After the police get abolished, Randall rebrands Paradise PD as "Paradise Party Dudes" and turns the former police department into a mancave. Karen gives birth to her new baby and names him "Kevin", loving him so much more than her last son, who she renamed "AFKAK" or (Asshole Formerly Known as Kevin).

  • And Call Him "George": Dusty makes a very on the nose reference to this trope when he hugs and squeezes Hobo Cop and nearly crushes him to death, wanting to keep him as a pet and name him George.
  • And There Was Much Rejoicing: Randall celebrates the supposed death of Hopson by bringing in some dancing pallbearers for an absolute banger of a party.
  • Big Red Button: Karen has a button on her mayor's desk, which she can press to launch the nukes and destroy all of Paradise.
  • Black Comedy Animal Cruelty: Dusty gets cut off from the pet store because of his history of accidentally killing every single cat he's ever adopted there, all in several excessively cruel and twisted ways that are way more hilarious than they need to be. Dusty didn't mean to kill any of his cats. He's just a gravely clumsy idiot, who's not intelligent enough to care for a live animal. Nevertheless, Dusty still wishes to have just one more chance at having a kitty cat.
  • C-List Fodder: Judge Judge is Killed Off for Real, when he gots gunned down by a deer in an airplane.
Randall: They're killing off all the ancillary characters! Run, Judge Judge Judge!
  • Casual Danger Dialogue: Not only was his wife going into labor, while Randall took his sweet time, looking to find a good, inexpensive Uber to take her to the hospital, but Dobby was also in the middle of destroying the city around him.
    Randall: Uh, search pricing. Shit.
  • Don't Explain the Joke: Dusty tells a shitty joke about Garfield, which only becomes dumber when he asks if everyone gets it.
Dusty: Ironically, Garfield killed himself on a Tuesday. Get it? Because he hates Mondays?
  • "Fantastic Voyage" Plot: Robby and Delbert go inside Dobby's anus to live inside of him. In this case, Dobby is grown to a massive size rather than Robby and Delbert being shrunk down to molecular size.
  • The Hunter Becomes the Hunted: AFKAK gives confiscated police weapons to the deer in the woods so that they can use them against their usual hunters. The deer become full-blown assassin warriors, who kill off tons of hunters by shooting them, slitting their throats, and bombing them with airplanes. Eventually, the hunters severed heads are all displayed publicly on spikes that are surrounded by fires. The deer have made it very clear to all future humans that this is now a no-hunting zone.
  • Invincible Hero: Because he was developed from a 15-year-old sperm cell, Baby Kevin was born with superhuman abilities such as invincibility. This is exemplified in battle, when he got shot in the head several times, only to absorb the bullets and then get right back up to start fighting again.
  • It Makes Sense in Context: Dusty justifies to the animal shelter owner that the reason all of his cats were starved to death wasn't even his fault. A drug-addicted dog was petsitting them while he was in a women's prison for murdering Santa Claus. The animal shelter owner had every right to not believe a word of this, despite it being true.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: AFKAK tells the deer "The buck stops here!"
    Deer: Yeah, that's hacky man!
  • New Baby Episode: This episode introduces Karen's new baby, Kevin Crawford. note
  • New Season, New Name: With this season's premiere, the show gets rebranded to "Paradise Party Dudes".
  • Nightmare Fetishist: Miss Whiskers is so depraved that she's fine with all the horrific things that happens to her as Dusty's newest pet.
  • Noodle Incident: It's mentioned that Dusty killed all of his cats in various hilarious ways, although the only death we've actually seen in the show was him starving his cats to death in "Big Ball Energy".
  • One-Steve Limit: Speaking of things getting rebranded, when Randall and Karen have their second baby, they name him "Kevin", despite this being the name of their firstborn child. To avoid confusion, they rename their first kid to "AFKAK" (or "Asshole Formerly Known as Kevin").
  • Raging Stiffie: It's revealed that "AFKAK" wasn't breastfed because he kept making eye contact and getting an erection. When he refutes this, Karen points out that he has one right now just from seeing her boob as she prepares to breastfeed "Kevin".
  • Suicide as Comedy: The cats at the animal shelter all kill themselves in various comical ways in order to escape the wrathful clutches of Dusty Marlow.
  • Taking the Bullet: Baby Kevin jumps in front of a bullet, fired by a deer, to save his father's life.
