Go To

Gina and Kevin make a big announcement, Bullet worries Fitz is on the verge of an unpleasant discovery, and Dusty joins a "gym."

Tropes:

  • Accidental Hero: Dusty is able to disable the bomb vest he's wearing by eating all the C4.
  • The All-Solving Hammer: Randall's solution to getting out of any awkward situation is to sing "Pump Up the Jam", though it doesn't have a 100% success rate.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Dobby lays waste to Paradise right after it is declared rebuit.
  • Bait-and-Switch:
    • This episode starts with a zig-zagging death fake-out for Gina. After the flatline cliffhanger of the previous episode, this episode opens with a funeral... for Dobby. After which, we go back to the hospital, where Dr. Funtlichter watches a flatline on a TV screen... which is from a TV show he's watching that ended on a flatline cliffhanger. Dr. Funtlichter complains about how cheap the show is for ending on a flatline cliffhanger before telling Kevin that Gina survived the surgery.
    • At first, it seems that Bullet was wrong when Randall states that he saved the dinosaurs from extinction by singing "Pump Up the Jam" as there is an anthropomorphic dinosaur among the police crew that everyone treats as if he was always there. It is soon revealed to be Hopson in a costume.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Subverted hilariously. Randall tells Bullet that people won't get mad at you as long as you sing the song "Pump Up the Jam". When he tries it out on the giant Dobby at the end, it fails miserably.
  • Continuity Cavalcade: ISIS is comprised of all the celebrities the show has made fun of throughout the series, including such favorite punching bags as Johnny Depp, Lindsey Graham, Joe Biden, and the leader of the whole crew, Ron Perlman.
  • The Dog Was the Mastermind: The leader of ISIS turns out to be Ron Perlman, who was offended by all the jokes the show made about him.
  • Eaten Alive: Bullet, Fitz, Junior, and Hopson suffer this at the hands of Dobby.
  • Epic Fail: Randall's attempt to placate Dobby by singing "Pump Up the Jam" fails miserably, resulting in Karen firing the entire police force.
  • Flashback: A flashback shows Dusty when he first joined Paradise PD. He used to be a really buff, Navy SEAL before Gina got him addicted to donuts, fattening him up for her sexual pleasure.
  • Fun with Acronyms: ISIS turns out to not be the ISIS you're thinking of but actually, a group of all the celebrities the show has made fun of. The organization stands for "International Society of Insulted Selebrities.
Randall: Okay, but "Celebrities" starts with a "C".
Ron Perlman: No. Ron Perlman pretty sure "Celebrities" starts with an "S" like "Celery" or "Pterodactyl".
  • Knew It All Along: Fitz reveals to Bullet that he knew Junior was biologically Bullet's the entire time. He doesn't care because Junior is his son and Bullet is his baby daddy.
  • Middle Eastern Terrorists: Dusty's side plot involves him accidentally joining ISIS, thinking it's a gym.
  • Running Gag: Several jokes victimize Ron Perlman and every time he's insulted, he's seen watching the show on TV and getting pissed off. This all pays off at the end when Ron Perlman leads an entire army of celebrities insulted by the show to pull off a terrorist attack on Paradise PD.
  • Stag Party: Fitz and Bullet plan a bachelor party for Kevin.
Bullet: We'll plan the bachelor party! It's gunna be crazy! Like that Tom Hanks movie, where he fucked a volleyball and got AIDs.
Fitz: And after that, we'll go to prison and watch bees come out of a giant black man's mouth ... I'm sorry, he took all the good ones.
  • Wacky Marriage Proposal: Gina proposes to Kevin shortly after her surgery, using the rim containing primer of her bullet as a ring.
  • Waking Non Sequitur: Hopson awakens from his nap and exclaims "Fitz is the kingpin!?", having come to this conclusion two full seasons after this was first revealed.
  • Wedding Episode: This episode centers around the wedding of Kevin Crawford and Gina Jabowski.
  • A Wizard Did It: Parodied. Fitz somehow manages to invert the effects of The Mutifier, saving his life and de-mutating all of the mutants but it's never explained how he did it. Instead of thinking of an explanation for how this happened, the writers just admit they have none and take a shot at the overrated movie, Superman 2 for having the same kind of lazy writing as them.
Bullet: Fitz! You flipped it and dipped it? But how!?
Fitz: The same way Superman did in Superman 2. Off-camera and without much explanation.
