- Bait-and-Switch: Happens after the baby is born, and is revealed to be Bullet's.Bullet: Uh, look, Fitz, I can explain.

- Deserted Island: Robby and Delbert discover a newly formed island in the middle of Lake Paradise and they claim it as their own, naming it "Twatemala".
- Deus ex Machina: Dusty eats the entire town-sized pizza during the theme song, immediately solving that plotline.
- Flashback: A flashback shows how Randall managed to get a mutated polyp; by shaking his bare ass at a nuclear explosion.Randall: Kiss my ass, mushroom cloud!
- Friendship Song: Randall and his sentient polyp sing "Butt Buddies".
- Interspecies Romance: Fitz is not the only one in a relationship with an animal. Other animals that some people in Paradise are in a relationship with are a horse, a pig, and a donkey.
- Jerkass: Dusty begins his long journey down his road of assholery in this episode, starting with him crushing a guy's foot at the theater and yelling in his face about it and then him tripping and killing Lin Manuel-Miranda with his refrigerator cable and again, yelling in the face of his corpse about it.
- Jerkass Has a Point: Randall's sentient polyp takes over his body, pretends to be him, steals his wife, and his son. However, Randall finds that he can't be too mad at him because his polyp is being a far kinder and more loving husband and father than he ever was.
- Knitting Pregnancy Announcement: Dolphin Queen announces her pregnancy to Fitz, while knitting a onesie for their upcoming baby.
- Mooning: Randall did this to a mushroom cloud. It ended with him getting a cancerous growth on his rectum.
- Only Sane Man: Hobo Cop is the only one who notices that a polyp has taken over Randall's body.
- Time Skip: This season starts off three months after the previous season's finale.
- Weight Loss Horror: Dusty unwillingly goes through this after being starved for three months in the bomb shelter. When he comes out, he's a flabby monstrosity that gets blown away in the wind.Dusty: I'm like a flying squirrel!
