  • Bad Boss: Roover fires one of his employees for talking against his project. In a case of The Dog Bites Back, said employe freely gives info to Angus against his former boss.
  • Death from Above: Roover plans to use the Agdy this way, dropping a fragment from the sky so that it will dramatically enlarge on impact, resulting in a mountain being dropped down on target. He even speculates that it could split the Earth in half if dropped from high enough.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Russian military in 1908 against Evronians? That didn't go well for the earthlings...
  • Ethnic Magician: Averted. While the native tribes portrayed in the story may act like Agdy is magic, they are perfectly aware of the scientific explanation to everything, several of their elders even have doctorates.
  • MacGuffin: The Agdy, a meteorite made of the fifth element, Myth-ril, a brand new material with astonishing proprieties such as drastically increase in volume when exposed to pressure.
  • Mithril: The fifth element Agdy is composed of. While highly resistant, its most peculiar property is to increase drastically in volume when exposed to pressure. Notably it's referred to as "Myth-ril".
