Recap / Paperinik New Adventures S 1 E 39 Far Far Away

Go To

While Paperinik is trying to find his way back on Earth, the Evronian Senate is discussing about chasing Xadhoom. Meanwhile our heroine is traveling to a far, far away planet, where inside a octopus-like base several green-skinned aliens live...

Tropes Present In This Issue:

  • All Your Base Are Belong to Us: The Evronians conquer the stronghold with the last free Xerbians. Then they destroy it, because they are kind of dicks that way.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Even with Paperinik's help the Xerbians are easily defeated by the Evronians. It's totally justified... It's a handful of them (and scientists to boot) against the home planet of the Evronians.
  • Defiant to the End: Despite being captured by the Evronians and seeing the base that had been their home for all the years they had lived far away from their planet destroyed, the Xerbians find the strength to sing what is supposedly Xerba's anthem.
  • Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: The force of planet Evron accelerating is enough to knock out Xadhoom: funny how the closest thing they did to defeat her was done by accident.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: After the Xerbians start singing the Evronians' reaction is mainly confusion:
Evron soldier 1:"What are they doing?
Evron soldier 2:"Hoping! Instead of acting, they hope! Puah!"
  • Fantastic Racism: Two Evronian soldiers joke about the biological inferiority of the Xerbians.
  • Holographic Disguise: The Evronians use one to deceive the Xerbian radar to detect them as a little asteroid and surprise the Xerbians.
    • Crazy-Prepared: Actually, they didn't know the Xerbians were there. It was an idea of the Emperor... just in case.
  • Hologram: The Emperor communicates with others mainly with those.
  • Insignificant Little Blue Planet: For the Evronian Senate Earth is of so little importance that they can't even remember its name right.
  • Large and in Charge: The Evronian Emperor is a tall, big, menacing figure with lots of muscle.
  • Laugh with Me!: One Evronian senator signals to his colleague to start laughing when the Emperor makes a pun. Then he had to tell him to stop.
Senator 1:"Ah,ah,ah!" (elbows the other) Laugh!"
    Senator 2:"Ah, ah, ah! Why?"
    • Later
Senator 1:(elbows him again) "Stop laughing!"
    Senator 2:"Ah, ah, ah! Why?"
  • Mood Whiplash: Just like the previous issue: this time we keep on jumping from the seriuosness of Evron to Paperinik arguing with a spaceship that insists to treat him like a baby. Then in the end they all meet up and the comic has a darker turn.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: The Evronian commander that leads the attack to the base wears a pretty cool armor that we have never seen before on an Evronian.
  • Oh, Crap!: When Xari realizes that their new course is bringing the Evronians to the planet with the surviving Xerbians.
    • When Evron appears in the sky over the Xerbian base.
  • Planet Spaceship: The Evronians show up with another, larger than Zotnam's mothership, and they are now using it to hunt down Xadhoom.
  • The Reveal: The only reason why Xari was working for Evron was to keep them away from the sector where his people were. He fails.
    • The Xerbians found a way to reverse the effects of coolflamization.
  • Rule of Funny: The giant planet ship Evron is piloted by... a single guy using a steering wheel and pedals.
  • Sapient Ship: The ship Paperinik is traveling on talks and treats him in a mix of an overbering mother and a 1950s wife. Justified since she reveals her Ai was once used to take care of children.
  • Shoo Out the Clowns: When Evron appears the maternal ship of Paperinik exits the picture.
  • Tap on the Head: A Xerbian knocks out Paperinik by hitting him with his rifle.
    • An Evronian does it later to the leader of the Xerbians. It doesn't knock him out, merely stuns him.
  • Thou Shall Not Kill: Interestingly, the villains invoke this, since they plan to use the last Xerbians to blackmail Xadhoom.
"Remember, I want prisoners! And I want them all!"
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Ok, she wasn't a big character or anything, but Paperinik's ship is not seen after they land on the planet with the Xerbian base.
