Aleida, who was released last season, struggles to find work, but gets an offer to speak on television about the riot. Judy King is offered as currency and used by the Ghetto inmates as a spokesperson for their demands. The hostage guards are starting to run into practical concerns from the prolonged riot.

- Bribe Backfire: Caputo, trapped inside a port-a-potty ("The Poo"), offers Ruiz to have five years Piscatella supposedly added to her sentence revoked if she turns on the other inmates, but carelessly reveals that it may not have been processed in her file yet. Ruiz runs off while Caputo makes his case, presumably to find and alter her file.

- Lantern Jaw of Justice: Justice may be a stretch, but Piscatella has one of these after shaving off his beard so the prisoners don't have something to grab.
- Mistaken for Terrorist: The news photos make the skinheads look like a group of terrorists who took over the prison.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Black Cindy has this reaction to Taystee letting Judy go out of the prison and into the public.
