This is the Recap Page for the original webcomic run of One-Punch Man, written and drawn solely by ONE.. Despite currently being redrawn as a manga by Yusuke Murata, ONE has continued to publish the original webcomic on his website. And while the early chapters are quite similar in both webcomic and manga, things get very different starting with the Human Monster saga, so it's worth having separate pages. For the manga and anime runs, go here and here respectively.

Spoilers are unmarked. You have been warned (especially those of you who have only read the manga or watched the anime). Also, saga and arc names are unofficial.

    Introduction Saga
Chapters: 1-15
The introduction to Saitama and the world of One-Punch Man.

Saitama Introduction Arc

  • Chapter 1: The Earth's Apostle, Vaccine Man, attacks A-City. He causes mass destruction and defeats many heroes. However, he is confronted by Saitama, a non-descript bald guy who is just a hero for fun. Saitama unceremoniously defeats Vaccine Man in one punch, to his disappointment.
  • Chapter 2: Later, Saitama goes shopping and recalls his backstory. He was once a normal salaryman who continually failed to find stable employment. He then happened upon Crablante, a Tiger-level monster trying to kill a kid with a butt-chin. Saitama decided to risk his life to save the child and miraculously defeated Crablante in the process. After this event, Saitama decided to quit his search for a formal career and instead become a part-time hero.
  • Chapter 3: A colossus attacks B-City. His name is Marugori, and he is the result of his brother's experimental steroid called "Biceps Brachii King." Saitama goes to meet Marugori, who claims he is now the strongest man on Earth. During their altercation, Marugori accidentally kills his brother. Enraged, he pounds Saitama with a beatdown that blows a huge crater in the ground. However, Saitama nonchalantly jumps right back up and punches Marugori in the face, defeating him in one blow.
  • Chapter 4: Saitama goes to bed, pondering his nature as an undefeatable hero. He is awoken in the morning by an invasion conducted by the Subterraneans, a race of super-beings living under the Earth's crust. They claim to have already exterminated 70% of humanity, and Saitama finds they are both powerful and numerous enough to finally give him a real challenge. Excited, Saitama battles the entire Subterranean race, pushing him to his very limits. After the Subterraneans are defeated, their king arrives, larger and stronger than any of his subjects. Saitama excitedly rushes at the Subterranean King... but is suddenly awoken by his alarm clock. It was only a dream. However, Saitama finds that an actual invasion by Subterraneans is occurring just outside his apartment. He dons his hero equipment and rushes outside, only to defeat the (much smaller) Subterranean King in one kick, making the rest of the Subterraneans quickly surrender and flee underground. Saitama is severely disappointed.

House of Evolution Arc

  • Chapter 5: On a cloudy day, Saitama is watering his plant when a mosquito starts to bug him. Its tiny body manages to escape his swats, greatly irritating him. Outside, an insectoid named Mosquito Girl is terrorizing Z-City with an army of mosquitoes. She is confronted by Genos, a young cyborg warrior.
  • Chapter 6: Genos and Mosquito Girl battle, while Saitama enters the battlefield chasing the mosquito from earlier. Genos urges him to get to safety. Mosquito Girl manages to tear most of Genos' mechanical body and things aren't looking good, so he begins preparing to self-destruct to kill Mosquito Girl with him. However, she is suddenly killed in one slap by Saitama, shocking Genos. He then begs Saitama to make him his disciple, and Saitama reluctantly agrees.
  • Chapter 7: Genos stops by Saitama's apartment to share his backstory, in 20 words or less: his village was destroyed by a "mad cyborg" and he became a cyborg himself to get revenge. A mantis monster named Kamakyuri suddenly bursts through the ceiling, but an annoyed Saitama kills it before it can finish explaining. Saitama and Genos head outside where they find several more monsters awaiting them.
  • Chapter 8: Saitama and Genos battle the group of monsters and kill almost all of them, leaving a cyborg named Armored Gorilla remaining. He tells them he and his cohorts are from the House of Evolution, an organization made by the brilliant Dr. Genus bent on evolving organisms to perfection. Mosquito Girl was another of his creations and having seen Saitama kill her so easily, he wants to study him. They then force Armored Gorilla to give up the location of the headquarters.
  • Chapter 9: Dr. Genus' backstory is shown, revealing him to be an eccentric and bitter genius who has prolonged his life with inhumane experimentation. Saitama and Genos follow their directions to the House of Evolution, and Genos instantly destroys it in a huge blast. This reveals a trapdoor, which the two enter.
  • Chapter 10: In the tunnels, Saitama and Genos are attacked by Dr. Genus and Carnage Kabuto, the ultimate creation of the House of Evolution. Carnage Kabuto challenges Saitama, and they go to an arena deeper within the hideout to battle. As the fight is about to start, Genos attacks Carnage Kabuto instead but is quickly defeated. Saitama then prepares for his turn. Carnage Kabuto attacks but hesitates when he senses Saitama's overpowering strength. He demands that Saitama reveal how he got his power, and Saitama complies, telling Genos to listen well.
  • Chapter 11: Saitama finally explains how he got so incredibly strong: 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10km run every day! However, nobody believes him, and this only angers Carnage Kabuto. He enters his "Carnage Mode" and unleashes a barrage of strikes onto an unaffected Saitama. Suddenly, Saitama realizes he is about to miss a sale and kills Carnage Kabuto in one punch so he can make it back in time. Genos and Dr. Genus are stunned by the outcome.

Paradise Group Arc

  • Chapter 12: An anti-capitalist terrorist group known as the Paradisers reveal themselves, composed of men with shaven heads and bulky black battle suits. To make their voices known, the leader Hammerhead announces they are going to destroy the home of a multi-millionaire named Zeniru. Mumen Rider, a lesser-known hero, tries to stop them and fails. Saitama hears about these bald terrorists on the news and decides to take care of the problem before he gets mixed up with them. Meanwhile, a ninja mercenary hired by Zeniru named Speed-o'-Sound Sonic is sent to deal with the Paradisers too.
  • Chapter 13: Speed-o'-Sound Sonic confronts the Paradisers in a forest and brutally kills every member save Hammerhead. A brief scuffle ensues between the terrorist and the ninja; Sonic seems to have defeated Hammerhead, but he manages to escape.
  • Chapter 14: Hammerhead runs into Saitama too. Frustrated, he quickly tries to kill him, but Saitama destroys his battle suit and tells him to scram. The nude Hammerhead gratefully flees. Speed-o'-Sound Sonic appears and asks Saitama about Hammerhead, believing him to be a part of the Paradisers. Saitama tries to explain he's a hero, but Sonic has never heard of him. Elsewhere, it is revealed that Hammerhead was attacked by two mysterious robots elsewhere in the woods, claiming to be from "the Organization." They mention the Paradisers' battle suits were stolen from the Organization, and Hammerhead plays dead until they leave.
  • Chapter 15: Sonic jumps around and shows off his speed, but Saitama easily follows his movements. Annoyed, Sonic attacks, but his momentum carries his crotch onto Saitama's fist. He jumps back in pain and declares Saitama his eternal rival. Back in the apartment, Genos tells Saitama about the National Superhero Registry, and the two decide to register to receive pay and recognition for their heroism.

    Hero Association Saga
Webcomic Chapters: 16-44
Manga Chapters 16-38
Episodes: 5-13

While still episodic, the story becomes more continuous once the Hero Association is introduced.

National Superhero Registry Arc

  • Chapter 16: Saitama and Genos take the hero registry exam. Saitama breaks all existing records in the physical portion but completely fails the written portion, resulting in him being ranked a lowly C-Class hero. However, Genos excels in both parts of the exam, ranking him in the prestigious S-Class. The two then go to an intro seminar for hero candidates, taught by an A-Class hero named Snakebite Sneck. That evening, Saitama is challenged by Sneck on a riverside trail. Sneck explains he is "newbie-crushing," a common practice where more seasoned heroes beat up rookies to assert dominance. He attacks, but Saitama quickly buries him in the ground and walks away.
  • Chapter 17: Saitama and Genos decide to spar in an empty quarry. Genos attacks with flashy moves that rattle the landscape but can never connect. He becomes exasperated with Saitama's excessive dodging and reminds him to not hold back. Saitama complies, and almost instantly gets behind Genos with a punch full of killing intent. However, he holds back his fist inches from Genos' face. He then suggests they're finished and should go out for noodles. Genos is disheartened by Saitama's overwhelming speed and strength, turning around to see that the mountain behind him was blown away by the mere shockwave of Saitama's punch.
  • Chapter 18: Five days later, Genos formally asks Saitama if he can move in. Saitama initially refuses, but begrudgingly accepts when he offers to pay rent. Upon moving in, Genos informs him that C-Class heroes are expelled from the Hero Association if they are inactive for more than a week. He didn't know this and frantically rushes out of the apartment to find a crime to stop, but doesn't find anything. Saitama continues his patrol for several days until he is intercepted by Speed-o'-Sound Sonic.
  • Chapter 19: Sonic challenges Saitama to a rematch. Another hero, Tanktop Tiger, arrives on the scene as well, claiming that Saitama has been running around scaring people for the last two days. Sonic doesn't tolerate the interruption and quickly defeats Tanktop Tiger, causing the nearby civilians to panic. Realizing Saitama is a hero, Sonic begins attacking the civilians to force Saitama to fight him. Saitama is annoyed by the needless destruction until he realizes Sonic is technically a villain for his actions and quickly incapacitates the ninja with one blow. He then gets Sonic arrested, fulfilling his weekly hero quota.

Giant Meteor Arc

  • Chapter 21: Saitama and Genos discuss their positions in the Hero Association; Saitama has risen to rank 342 in the C-Class, and Genos is still at the bottom of S-Class. Meanwhile, a giant meteor approaches the Earth, and Genos is called to a nearby Hero Association branch to prepare defenses. There he meets another S-Class hero called Silver Fang, real name Bang, who reveals that he can't do anything about the meteor because he's just a martial artist. However, Genos wants to try stopping the meteor, leaping onto a rooftop, and equipping his Arms Mode to blast the space rock. A large robot appears, and Genos recognizes it as the S-Class hero Metal Knight. He claims he just wants to test out a new weapon and has no intention of actually trying to stop the meteor, shooting an impressive volley of missiles that does nothing to slow its descent. Panicked, Genos inserts his body's power core into his Arms Mode attachment and fires a huge blast at the meteor, but it isn't enough, and he drains all his energy in vain. Fortunately, Saitama appears, leaping off the building and punching straight through the meteor.
  • Chapter 22: The meteor explodes into shrapnel midair, lessening the impact but still destroying the city. Three days later, it's revealed that Saitama jumped to rank 5 in C-Class due to his "involvement" in stopping the meteor. Saitama walks around Z-City surveying the damage. He runs into Tanktop Tiger again, who accuses him of taking credit for destroying the meteor.
  • Chapter 23: Tanktop Tiger's superior, Tanktop Black Hole, arrives and adds to the accusations by drawing the attention of civilians. The citizens accost Saitama for his alleged misdemeanors, and the Tanktop brothers both challenge Saitama. He defeats them with pathetic ease before telling the civilians he is just a hero for fun and doesn't need their approval.

Sea Monsters Arc

  • Chapter 24: Monsters emerge from the ocean, calling themselves the Seafolk and announcing their conquest of the surface. They are challenged by A-Class hero Stinger. Elsewhere, Genos receives a call from the Hero Association stating about the attack on J-City, and Saitama states that they need to go help as fast as possible. Stinger holds his own against the Seafolk, defeating many of them despite his injuries until he is taken out in a single blow by their leader: the Demon-level threat, the Deep Sea King.
  • Chapter 25: An evacuation begins as the threat of the Seafolk becomes apparent. A-Class hero Lightning Max stealthily observes the Deep Sea King from afar but is discovered anyways. He is saved by an S-Class hero, Puri-Puri Prisoner, who escaped from prison to help fight off the invasion; he is followed by Speed-o'-Sound Sonic, who escaped prison alongside him.
  • Chapter 26: Puri-Puri Prisoner battles the Deep Sea King.
  • Chapter 27: Puri-Puri Prisoner is defeated by the marine monarch. Sonic challenges the Deep Sea King himself, and despite lacking his ninja equipment, Sonic's speed seems to be more than a match for him.
  • Chapter 28: However, as it starts to rain the Deep Sea King grows in size, revealing that he is stronger and faster when he is hydrated. Sonic is forced to make a tactical retreat. The powered-up Deep Sea King decides to attack a nearby disaster shelter full of civilians. He breaks into one and faces the heroes defending the civilians there, including Snakebite Sneck.
  • Chapter 29: The C-Class Mumen Rider is making his way to J-City on his bicycle when he suddenly drops his cell phone conversation with the Hero Association. Saitama comes across the phone, speaking with the Hero Association staff to learn the location of the Deep Sea King. Back in the shelter, all the heroes have been defeated. Fortunately, Genos arrives and engages the Deep Sea King, resulting in a grueling battle. Challenged by Genos' strength, the Deep Sea King ends up spitting acid at a little girl nearby, and Genos sacrifices his mechanical body to save her.
  • Chapter 30: Because of Genos' sacrifice, the Deep Sea King quickly gains the upper hand. Just as the Deep Sea King is about to finish Genos, Mumen Rider throws his bicycle at him. Mumen Rider tries to stop the Deep Sea King but is toyed with and easily beaten. Despite this, he doesn't give up and continues to throw himself at the Deep Sea King as a crowd cheers him on. When Mumen Rider takes one final blow, silencing the crowd, he is saved by Saitama's arrival.
  • Chapter 31: The Deep Sea King challenges Saitama but is defeated in one punch as usual. The civilians are initially ecstatic at Saitama's victory. However, one man expresses doubt, believing that the other heroes weakened the Deep Sea King and Saitama only came to finish him off and steal the glory. This results in the public becoming disillusioned with Saitama. Later, Sonic returns to J-City with his equipment, only to find the battle over. The seer Shibabawa is seen having a final prophecy, stating that the entire Earth will be in grave danger, before passing away.

Alien Conquerors Arc

  • Chapter 32: Bang has invited Genos and Saitama to his dojo, where he shows off his martial art: Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist. He asks if they would like to learn it, but they decline. Bang's only student, Charanko, is enraged by their refusal, but Bang calms him down and explains that his dojo used to have many students before one of them, a young man named Garou, went on a violent rampage and had to be kicked out. Suddenly, a Hero Association employee bursts through the door, telling them there is an emergency meeting for S-Class heroes. Genos and Bang head out, and Saitama decides to tag along. At the Hero Association headquarters, Saitama and Genos meet some of the other S-Class heroes such as Atomic Samurai, Tatsumaki, and Metal Bat. However, the number one S-Class hero, Blast, is absent.
  • Chapter 33: Saitama sits in at the S-Class meeting, where an executive named Sitch explains the situation of Shibabawa's prophecy. As if, on cue, the headquarters comes under attack by the Skyfolk.
  • Chapter 34: Sky King himself is suddenly killed, and a much larger threat is revealed: a massive spacecraft hovering over A-City. The spacecraft quickly razes the entire city, save for the highly durable Hero Association headquarters. The A-Class hero Iaian emerges from the city's rubble, horrified by the widespread destruction, and is attacked by one of the alien invaders, Melzargard. Meanwhile, the S-Class heroes prepare to deal with the threat. Genos looks for Saitama, only to find he has already jumped through the ceiling. Saitama leaps towards the spacecraft, dodging several bullets fired along the way.
  • Chapter 35: Iaian fights Melzargard, who splits into five different bodies to get the upper hand and cuts off one of Iaian's arms. Atomic Samurai saves him, revealing Iaian is one of his disciples. Bang, Puri-Puri Prisoner, and Metal Bat also arrive to help fight Melzargard.
  • Chapter 36: The other S-Class heroes discuss how to deal with the spacecraft itself, suggesting that the strongest man in the world, King, deals with it. King replies he is unable to do anything because it is too high up, frustrating Tatsumaki into attacking it herself. Above the battle, Saitama has already infiltrated the spacecraft. He is discovered on surveillance by an alien called Geryuganshoop, who sends a soldier named Groribas to deal with him. Saitama quickly kills him, and a one-eyed alien named Boros asks Geryuganshoop what's going on. On the ground, Melzargard decides to send a part of himself to request the spacecraft raze the ground again. However, it is stopped by Metal Bat.
  • Chapter 37: As the S-Class heroes fight Melzargard, Metal Bat discovers his weakness: a marble-like object that is the core of his regenerative abilities. Meanwhile, Geryuganshoop telepathically contacts Saitama, trying to misdirect him through the ship and failing. Saitama now finds himself in the throne room with him, along with another alien named Boros.
  • Chapter 38: Saitama easily defeats Geryuganshoop. Boros introduces himself as the leader of the Dark Matter Thieves and explains that he has become too powerful. He heard in a prophecy that he would find a worthy opponent on the Earth. Saitama is nonplussed by his excuse for such chaos and punches him, breaking his armor and releasing his power. Boros then charges at Saitama, resulting in a wild battle. Outside, the spacecraft still manages to fire a volley at the S-Class heroes on the ground - however, Tatsumaki uses her psychokinesis to redirect the bullets back into its hull. Boros is impressed by Saitama's power.
  • Chapter 39: The other S-Class heroes such as Genos and Drive Knight watch Tatsumaki; Tanktop Master tries to help by throwing debris but is simply outclassed by her powers. Drive Knight decides that he's not needed and leaves, but not before giving a warning to Genos about Metal Knight. Melzargard lands a devastating hit on Bang, seemingly defeating him, but the martial artist quickly bounces back and helps finish off the alien warrior by shattering his remaining marbles. Saitama and Boros' battle rages on inside the ship. Boros loses his arm to one of Saitama's punches but quickly grows it back before landing a decisive blow on Saitama's head.
  • Chapter 40: Believing he's won, Boros begins to explain his alien physiology, but Saitama interrupts, showing him he's not hurt at all. Excited, Boros powers up into his Meteoric Burst mode. Boros is exhilarated by his resilience, but Saitama begins to take him seriously and blasts him into gore with multiple consecutive punches. Boros reconstitutes his body and charges his ultimate attack, Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon, which threatens to damage the entire planet. Saitama brings out his ultimate attack: a Serious Punch. His Serious Punch nullifies Boros' beam attack, splitting his body in half. Boros' remains lie motionless on the ship, and he reveals that he was aware Saitama was holding back the whole time. He knows he never stood a chance, but thanks Saitama for the fight anyways while the bald hero solemnly departs the collapsing spacecraft.
  • Chapter 41: The spaceship crashes into the Earth, forcing all of the S-Class heroes to escape and leaving A-City in complete ruins. Sweet Mask appears and berates the heroes for the destruction, before killing the alien survivors without questioning them first. A Metal Knight drone also arrives to begin cleanup and salvage parts of the ship. Meanwhile, Saitama emerges from the wreckage of the ship, surprising Genos, and Tatsumaki. Saitama explains his fight with Boros to Genos, ignoring Tatsumaki to the point where she begins insulting him. Genos stands up for his master but is thrown aside by her psychokinesis. In the following weeks, the mess is cleaned up by Metal Knight's robot forces, and the Hero Association base is rebuilt to be stronger and safer than ever.

King Arc

  • Chapter 42: Saitama and Genos are out shopping when they witness King, the strongest man on Earth, intimidating a monster named Tongue Stretcher into submission. King continues down the street, excited to play the new video game he just purchased. However, he is challenged by Machine God G4, a knight-like robot from the Organization. King says he needs to go to the bathroom first, so G4 announces he will begin killing civilians after ten minutes. Instead, King locks himself in a stall and panics about what a fraud he is.
  • Chapter 43: King decides to make a run for it and notices someone else is fighting G4: Genos. Once King returns to his apartment and boots up his new game, Saitama suddenly appears behind him asking why he didn't fight G4. King gives the excuse that he just doesn't enjoy fighting and would rather play his game. Saitama is about to leave when a Giant Crow suddenly crashes through the wall, attempting to eat King. Saitama stops its beak with one hand and asks King if he will defeat the Giant Crow, but he can't answer.
  • Chapter 44: King finally admits his fraudulent nature, and Saitama beats the Giant Crow in one punch. He recognizes Saitama from years ago when he still had all his hair - he is the one from whom he got all his hero credit. He apologizes profusely in the ruins of the apartment, but fortunately for him, Saitama is apathetic towards the whole situation and amicably leaves King's apartment.

Garou Introduction Arc

  • Chapter 45: Genos returns to Dr. Kuseno, the scientist who made him into a cyborg, with Machine God G4's parts. He asks Dr. Kuseno to upgrade his cyborg body using them, who warns him to not push himself too hard. Meanwhile, Sitch is holding a meeting at the new Hero Association headquarters. He plans to recruit mercenaries, criminals, and whoever possible to help protect the Earth since the Dark Matter Thieves' attack. However, he is ridiculed by Speed-o'-Sound Sonic, who claims he is not interested and leaves. Sitch explains to the other criminals that the Earth is in danger and that they need to work together. They will be rewarded for their cooperation. However, Garou, the disgraced student of Bang, speaks up.
  • Chapter 46: Garou states he just came to fight and begins challenging the heroes and criminals there. Sitch orders Garou to leave and sends heroes to escort him out, but he attacks them. The criminals cheer Garou on, but he tells them they're all next. Outside, Sonic walks away from the Hero Association, noticing the commotion going on inside. He decides to go challenge Saitama again. Back in the headquarters, Garou has defeated every single hero and criminal in the room. He declares his status as the "Hero Hunter" and leaves, as Sitch cowers in the corner.

Blizzard Group Arc

  • Chapter 47: Three formally-dressed B-Class heroes move through Z-City: Fubuki, Eyelashes, and Mountain Ape. They approach a gate and begin to make their way into the ghost town, where their "target" awaits. At their apartment, Genos reveals that Saitama has officially been promoted to B-Class. He senses a fast-moving object outside and goes to check on it, finding Speed-o'-Sound Sonic. Sonic says he wants to fight Saitama, but Genos refuses, prompting a fight between the two. The three B-Class heroes arrive at Saitama's door, demanding he open up. Fubuki introduces herself to Saitama and explains she is the leader of the Blizzard Group, a team of B-Class heroes such as herself and her comrades. She demands he work for her, but Saitama declines. Eyelashes and Mountain Ape attack Saitama, but he easily disposes of them.
  • Chapter 48: Frustrated, Fubuki reveals her psychic powers and attacks Saitama with them. He handles her with ease and begins to lecture her on the nature of heroism. She then swipes at him with a box cutter, but her attack is interrupted by a large impact caused by Sonic and Genos' fight. Genos apologizes to his master and explains the situation. Fubuki is surprised to see an S-Class hero like Genos calling Saitama "master."
  • Chapter 49: Genos and Sonic continue to fight, but eventually, Saitama stops the scuffle to accept Sonic's challenge. Sonic comes at him with multiple afterimages of himself, but Saitama counters with his afterimages using Serious Side Hops. Sonic is defeated and makes a hasty retreat.
  • Chapter 50: Fubuki explains her plight to Saitama and Genos, being the younger sister of Tatsumaki, the currently highest-ranked active S-Class hero. She has been gathering the Blizzard Group to hopefully surpass her in numbers at least. She also explains that she can't make it into A-Class because Sweet Mask is too strict about promotions. Elsewhere, a caveman named Suppon escapes from a laboratory and starts causing trouble. Sweet Mask appears to deal with it, mercilessly killing the confused neanderthal. Back at the apartment, King arrives at Saitama to retrieve a gaming handheld he lent to Saitama, shocking Fubuki. Seeing how S-Class heroes are attracted to Saitama, she considers hanging out with him too. Sometime later, Saitama and Genos are finally given their official hero names: "Caped Baldy" and "Demon Cyborg," respectively. Meanwhile, Garou has encountered and defeated the hero Tanktop Vegetarian in an alley.

Hero Hunt Arc

  • Chapter 51: Bang violently expels Charanko from his dojo. That night Charanko goes to Saitama and Genos for advice, who wonder if Bang did so to protect him from Garou's rampage. Meanwhile, Garou hunts Mumen Rider in a park but is intercepted by Tanktop Vegetarian and the rest of the Tanktopper Army surrounding him. The S-Class Tanktop Master is also present and begins to fight Garou one-on-one. Back at the dojo, Bang meets with his brother Bomb to start hunting Garou down themselves.
  • Chapter 52: Garou struggles against Tanktop Master, but Mumen Rider jumps in the way, discouraging the fight from going any further. They agree to part ways, but Garou changes his mind at the last minute; Tanktop Master expected this and is already about to hit him, but Garou uses Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist to counter. Garou then defeats Mumen Rider, the rest of the Tanktopper Army, and finally Charanko. Bang finds the mess of beaten heroes the next morning.
  • Chapter 53: Garou confronts the A-Class hero Death Gatling on the street, starting a fight with him. Bang and Bomb are surprised he didn't go for Stinger, so they run off towards the scene. Genos makes it there first, saving Death Gatling just before his defeat. Saitama continues to lose in video games to King. Garou and Genos seem to be evenly matched, but suddenly Bang arrives to easily overpower his former student.
  • Chapter 54: Garou is completely pummeled by Bang and Bomb, and begins losing consciousness. He has a flashback to his unfair childhood, inspiring him to fight back. At the same time, an influx of monsters appears to support him, kidnapping Garou and holding the heroes at bay before retreating.

Monster Association Arc

  • Chapter 55: The Hero Association holds a meeting about Bang's failure to stop Garou. The heroes at Saitama's apartment discuss the possibility of a "Monster Association," and Saitama decides to go find the Hero Hunter himself. Meanwhile, Garou awakens in the underground base of the Monster Association where their leader Psykos welcomes him. They give him the mission to kill one hero to ensure his loyalty to the organization, and he departs. He goes to a restaurant and commits a dine n' dash - coincidentally, Saitama is at the same restaurant and has failed to pay as well due to forgetting his wallet. Saitama decides to go stop the dine n' dasher, unaware it's Garou. He finds Garou in a park, protecting a "Busaiku" (an ugly kid) from bullies, and lets him off with a warning. Garou is infuriated by this and goes to attack Saitama from behind, but is knocked out with a single backhand. He wakes up with the Busaiku a few minutes later, finding himself surrounded by the monsters Bug God and Royal Ripper.
  • Chapter 56: Bug God and Royal Ripper reveal they were sent by Psykos to spy on Garou. They order Garou to kill the Busaiku, but he refuses, saving him from a sneak attack by Senior Centipede, initiating a fight with the three monsters. Elsewhere, Zombieman confronts Armored Gorilla at a takoyaki stand, learning that the House of Evolution has been destroyed. He speaks with Dr. Genus about the "limiters" that every being has. In the morning, Garou is shown to have lost his battle with the monsters.
  • Chapter 57: Garou awakens in a pool of blood, remembering his fight with Royal Ripper, Bug God, and Senior Centipede. Psykos is shown to have called the survivors back to the base, informing them that he found a drone from Child Emperor spying. Royal Ripper is revealed to have taken the Busaiku hostage. At Saitama's apartment, the crew digs into the hot pot, fighting passionately over the meat in it.
  • Chapter 58: Child Emperor begins to organize a raid on the Monster Association, recruiting most of the other S-Class heroes. Psykos senses an intruder in the base. Royal Ripper attempts to torture the Busaiku but is killed by the intruder - Garou. He tells the Busaiku he didn't come to save him, but when they are attacked by Overgrown Rover, Garou throws the Busaiku aside to defend him from the monster.
  • Chapter 59: Garou continues to fight Overgrown Rover. The S-Class heroes prepare to storm the Monster Association's base. Saitama is annoyed by the tremors from Garou's battle with Rover underground and decides to go find the source of it. Meanwhile, Garou finally confronts Psykos but is completely defeated by the monster's psychokinesis.
  • Chapter 60: The S-Class heroes are shown to handle the Monster Association with little trouble. Flashy Flash faces Gale and Hellfire, two robotic monsters, and kills them with ease. Child Emperor shreds Phoenix Man, while Sweet Mask crushes Goddess Glasses, Zombieman slaughters Pureblood, and Pig God eats the Great Food Tub.
  • Chapter 61: Superalloy Darkshine easily kills Bug God in one punch. Atomic Samurai's disciples face Devil Long Hair, struggling.
  • Chapter 62: Psykos faces Tatsumaki, but is completely defeated by her psychic abilities. Genos, Fubuki, Bang, Bomb, and King continue to wait for Saitama at the apartment until King reveals he has gotten an emergency transmission. Atomic Samurai's disciples have defeated Devil Long Hair, and wonder how the S-Class heroes are fairing. Puri-Puri Prisoner has been utterly knocked out by a slowly monsterizing Garou. The executive Black Sperm sadistically chases the Busaiku but is interrupted by Atomic Samurai.
  • Chapter 63: Black Sperm is enraged by Atomic Samurai's insufferable pride, and uses his multiplying abilities to overwhelm him.
  • Chapter 64: Saitama encounters Overgrown Rover, punching him and telling him to sit. The tremor from the punch worries Zombieman, who is suddenly snuck up on by Homeless Emperor. Zombieman asks him about his powers to buy time, so Homeless Emperor explains the vision in which he saw "God."
  • Chapter 65: Sweet Mask is attacked by the executive Fuhrer Ugly, shocking him with ugliness. Meanwhile, Pig God is given a taste of his own medicine by Gums. Flashy Flash notices Saitama's presence.
  • Chapter 66: Superalloy Darkshine finds Puri-Puri Prisoner, who has been defeated by Garou. Elsewhere, Child Emperor finds Atomic Samurai's disciples, who have been defeated by the executive Evil Natural Water. Flashy Flash strikes out only to discover it's Saitama, and they decide to work together. Genos, Bang, Bomb, and Fubuki decide to infiltrate the Monster Association base themselves.
  • Chapter 67: The history of the S-Class is shown, revealing that they were made to consistently take down Demon-level threats. However, they seem to have met their match at the hands of the Monster Association executives... except one. Tatsumaki has defeated Psykos, and in the process discovered that his true body is deeper underground.
  • Chapter 68: Darkshine faces Garou, initially overpowering the Hero Hunter. But when he calls Garou's actions "monster play," he turns it back on Darkshine and calls his "hero play."
  • Chapter 69: Genos, Bang, Bomb, and Fubuki fight Overgrown Rover but find that their attacks do no damage. Eventually, Bang jokingly tells him to sit like a good dog, and he surprisingly does so. Meanwhile, Garou continues to pummel Darkshine with blows, causing the hero to fear for his life for the first time in years. King, alone, runs into the Busaiku. Saitama asks Flashy Flash if he is lost.
  • Chapter 70: Tatsumaki locates and grabs Psykos' true human body with her psychokinesis, before ripping the entire Monster Association headquarters out of the ground with everyone in it. With the base flipped, the executives - Black Sperm, Homeless Emperor, Gums, Fuhrer Ugly, and Evil Natural Water - emerge from the rubble to face Tatsumaki. King hides with the Busaiku nearby.
  • Chapter 71: Fubuki tries to discourage Genos from getting in Tatsumaki's way, but he ignores her. He finds that Tatsumaki is busy fighting the executives, which allows Psykos to get a sneak attack on her head that weakens her psychokinesis. The executives begin to toy with Tatsumaki, and when Genos tries to intervene, Black Sperm rips his arm off.
  • Chapter 72: Genos attacks Fuhrer Ugly, so the monster mutates into a giant. Fortunately, Bang arrives to even the playing field, unleashing his true power to kill Fuhrer Ugly and Gums in quick succession. However, Psykos and Homeless Emperor team up on him and defeat him. Bomb comes to the rescue but is outnumbered by Black Sperm.
  • Chapter 73: Puri-Puri Prisoner meets up with Child Emperor. All the heroes on the surface have been defeated except for one: King. He reveals himself, instantly grabbing the attention of the executives. Thanks to King's bluffing, they overthink their strategy and end up just staring at him for a long time. They grow impatient.
  • Chapter 74: King's fears are alleviated when Fubuki comes to the rescue, engaging in a psychic battle with Psykos. Zombieman also emerges from the debris and grabs Homeless Emperor. Now basically alone, Black Sperm moves to attack King, but the rest of the S-Class heroes slowly continue to reveal themselves.

Child Emperor devises a plan to use one of King's "special moves" to defeat Evil Natural Water, and he starts thinking of how to fake it. Below ground, Flashy Flash has finally been freed, just in time to meet Puri-Puri Prisoner.
  • Chapter 79: The Busaiku is heartbroken, watching his heroes be defeated. But Tatsumaki recovers some strength, using it to finally fight Black Sperm and Evil Natural Water. Black Sperm creates a Multi-Cell Sperm, but she kills it with ease; he retaliates by taking the Busaiku hostage again.
  • Chapter 80: Zombieman continues to restrain Homeless Emperor, but the latter has a vision of his "God" who takes his powers back and kills him. Black Sperm merges most of his remaining cells into one super-powerful multi-cell body: Golden Sperm. Tatsumaki is overpowered by his blistering speed and strength, but he stops when he hears King calling his special attack.
  • Chapter 81: King does nothing, but his distraction was enough to buy time. Suddenly Garou appears, tearing through Black Sperm to save the Busaiku. He then engages in a battle with Golden Sperm, pushing himself to evolve into his final Awakened form and kill him. A single Black Sperm cell remains, and runs to hide.
  • Chapter 82: Awakened Garou begins to taunt and deride the remaining S-Class heroes, much too powerful for them to even touch him. Tatsumaki attacks Garou, but he effortlessly deflects it.
  • Chapter 83: Garou finally attacks the S-Class heroes, beating them all until Flashy Flash arrives.

  • Chapter 85: Saitama is excited to fight Garou, but he keeps getting interrupted by the weakened S-Class heroes. Garou then threatens to kill the Busaiku and challenges the S-Class to stop him. Zombieman, unarmed, tries to buy time by talking to him but gets torn to shreds.
  • Chapter 86: Garou approaches the Busaiku, taunting the S-Class heroes. Suddenly, he notices Evil Natural Water preparing an attack, but it is reduced to a splash by Saitama's punch.

  • Chapter 88: Garou accepts Saitama's challenge and strikes, but is countered and hit with a devastating punch. He continues to throw himself at Saitama, who is excited that Garou can survive his punches.
  • Chapter 89: Garou adapts to Saitama's fighting style and easily reads his moves - despite this, Garou is still unable to hurt him. Saitama decides to get serious.
  • Chapter 89: Saitama uses his "Serious Table Flip," flipping the ruins of the Monster Association once again and launching Garou into the sky. He then quickly overcomes Garou, who accidentally jumps into the ground thanks to his rotated senses. Saitama is disappointed by the apparent victory, stating that heroes always win in the end.
  • Chapter 90: Garou is infuriated by Saitama and attacks again, but is continually outplayed. He becomes increasingly angry at the unfairness of Saitama's strength and decides that he must become an unfair monster to match. After being punched, he remains high in the sky.
  • Chapter 91: Garou returns to the ground as a bonafide monster, and gleefully attacks Saitama with his new power. However, Saitama still overpowers him, breaking him down until he returns to his Awakened form.
  • Chapter 92: Saitama tells Garou to just stop, and has to punch him in the face to knock him down. Genos sees the conflict, and Sweet Mask demands Saitama to kill Garou, which few Class-S heroes support. This triggers a rant about heroism and hypocrisy from Garou, ending with a question for Saitama: "Why are you a hero!?"
  • Chapter 93: Saitama picks his nose and tells Garou it's a hobby. He then picks apart Garou's philosophy, realizing that Garou wanted to be a hero but decided to become a half-assed monster instead. Upon hearing this, Garou's monster head shatters to reveal his human face, and he becomes despondent.
  • Chapter 94: Saitama is content to let Garou go, but he says he has no reason left to live. Sweet Mask is intent on killing Garou. Bang seems to want to do it himself, but his blows are held back by mercy for his former student. Suddenly, the Busaiku appears, reprimanding the heroes for being unable to save him where Garou succeeded. Inspired by the Busaiku, Garou flees at high speeds, and no one except for Saitama sees where he went. Saitama stares into the sunset, sad that his apartment was destroyed in the battle.

Metal Knight is rebuked by the Hero Association for his security system's failure, and the staff complains about Tatsumaki for her reckless fighting. He then vows to redouble his training.

The next day, Sonic challenges Flashy Flash to a duel, and the two meet in a forest. Flash is reluctant to fight his former friend, but Sonic is ready to kill him. The Saints thank him for defeating Rangor, explaining he was one of the nine warriors of the Dragon Alliance. They then tell him the legend of the Cruel Dragon, a powerful dragon that once laid waste to civilization more than eight hundred years ago, and how the group known as the evil Deathbone is trying to reawaken it. Saitama figures it would be faster to reawaken the Cruel Dragon now and just get rid of it, so he helps the Deathbone reawaken the beast. The Cruel Dragon appears, ready to destroy the world, and Saitama defeats it in a single punch as usual. On his way home, Saitama runs into Genos. Together they meet Sweet Mask, who invites Saitama to meet with him tomorrow for tea. Saitama and Sweet Mask meet at a cafe the next day. Sweet Mask orders Saitama a ginger ale without asking what he wants first, annoying him. He then recaps the history of the world to Saitama, which annoys him even more. Finally, he proposes that he wants to help Saitama become the ideal hero and a symbol of justice for the world. Saitama refuses and leaves.
  • Chapter 120: Sweet Mask has invited Saitama to a luxury lunch. He explains the Hero Association has given him funding to train Saitama and begins giving him a lecture. However, Saitama falls asleep. After struggling through the first lesson, Sweet Mask reveals that the next day they will meet to give Saitama a makeover. The next day, Saitama shows little interest in changing his public image, explaining that he's just a hero for fun. Sweet Mask is stunned and calls off the makeover. As they walk, Sweet Mask explains his dissatisfaction with the S-Class heroes, and that he wants to make a single ideal hero instead. Saitama asks why he doesn't become the hero himself, to which he responds that he is incapable of doing so. He then decides to take Saitama to the carnival for some fun. Sweet Mask and Saitama ride a Ferris wheel. Sweet Mask tells Saitama his real name is Beaut. He then tells him his backstory, explaining that he used to be ugly but became beautiful after fighting monsters as a rookie hero. After this, he was sucked into pop culture and became an idol. He then shares his fear that he is a monster, and that killing other monsters is the only way he can stay human. He wants Saitama to carry on his legacy by becoming the ideal hero. However, Saitama refuses, not wanting to live Sweet Mask's complicated lifestyle. Realizing it's getting late and he promised to spar with Genos, Saitama pries the door of the Ferris wheel car open and leaps out. Sweet Mask decides he can't give up on him yet, and that he'll try again later. Below him, a monster called Pesky Clown attacks people at the carnival.

News quickly spreads of Sweet Mask's true form, and the world is outraged that Sweet Mask deceived them all. The Hero Association's publicity is hurting more than ever, not to mention they just lost one of their main advisers and highest-ranked heroes. A scout team is sent to find Sweet Mask and bring him back for trial. Hero Association scouts are also searching for Suicho, a legendary martial artist who could replace Bang. They discover he passed away a year ago at his home and that his granddaughter Suiko is also a martial artist. Meanwhile, several Neo Heroes discuss Sweet Mask's reveal. A woman hero named Webigaza expresses her frustration that she could not defeat him first. They discuss the progress of the Neo Heroes and talk about someone named Blue who has gone hunting Sweet Mask.

Neo Hero Showcase Arc

  • Chapter 124: At the Hero Association apartments, Forte, Butterfly DX, and Chain'n'Toad reveal to each other that they have all been scouted by the Neo Heroes and are considering joining. Black Sperm ponders the situation, realizing that maybe the Monster Association did accomplish something. Saitama arrives home and the others ask him if he has been scouted yet; as if on cue, a group of heroes appears behind him. They are the Hero Name Victims Association, a group of heroes assigned mean or unfair hero names, and they think Caped Baldy should join them as a cadre. Saitama is shocked by this invitation, but his roommates are unimpressed. Suiko arrives takes a Hero Association placement exam, scoring an A-Class ranking. The staff compares her to her brother, Suiryu, who is revealed to have been recruited by the Neo Heroes and holds a prestigious position as a Neo Leader. After sparring, Genos tries to build up the courage to ask about Sweet Mask, noticing Saitama has been troubled recently. In reality, Saitama is still thinking about the Hero Name Victims Association.
  • Chapter 125: Suiryu is introduced to the other Neo Leaders, including the vigilante Accel, the gangster Ryumon, the rich Zaedats, the web idol Webigaza, the cult leader Infelsinave, the sumo Raiden, the criminal A, and the former S-Class heroes: Child Emperor, Superalloy Darkshine, and Metal Bat. Two candidates for Neo Leaders also enter the room, Mars Leo and Solitude, and begin demanding to be made Neo Leaders. Mars Leo shows off his fighting skills, and Suiryu easily toys with him. Solitude, a cyborg, scans the others in the room, discovering that Webigaza's body is 71% artificial and that several other Neo Hero staff named Erimin and Destro are also mostly artificial. The final Neo Leader is a mysterious young man named Blue. He has a short flashback to earlier when he was following Saitama and Sweet Mask. However, Genos got in his way and stopped his pursuit. Blue then reveals to the others that he is the creator of the Neo Heroes, the highest-ranked Neo Leader, and the son of the legendary Blast.
  • Chapter 126: A sudden wave of monster attacks sweeps the continent. Hero Association heroes such as Great Philosopher and Crescent Eyebroll try to fight the many monsters off but are shown up when the Neo Heroes arrive to take care of it for them. The Neo Heroes are much more coordinated in battle and are equipped with high-tech battle suits that give them an edge over the Hero Association.
  • Chapter 127: The Neo Leaders each show great combat and leadership skills, although Zaedats and Infelsinave are both wounded in their respective battles. However, Child Emperor is more bothered by the thought that the battle suits may be supplied by Metal Knight. Additionally, Metal Bat sees Erimin and Destro taking away the wounded Zaedats and Infelsinave, irking him.
  • Chapter 128: Blue defeats a powerful crab monster with a special suit. Meanwhile, the Hero Association executives are distraught by how quickly the Neo Heroes are outpacing them. Sitch bemoans their lack of leadership with the losses of Sweet Mask and Child Emperor. As if on cue, the executives notice a commotion outside and open the window, only to be met with Saitama's protesting Hero Name Victims Association. The protest is interrupted by the sudden announcement of five Dragon-level threats in the proximity of the Hero Association complex, and an evacuation order is made. While the S-Class heroes are deployed, Sitch makes an order to contact the Neo Heroes to ally. Tanktop Master takes on the repulsive Heavy Smoker, Tatsumaki takes on the swarm of cockroaches known as Aggregation, and Genos takes on the mysterious Extended Family of Darkness. The Neo Heroes also take on the other Dragon-level threats, with Blue fighting Eel Dragon. Additionally, a confident Suiko takes on the Machine God Mirror, who is seeking out King.
  • Chapter 129: Tanktop Master struggles against Heavy Smoker but is saved by Flashy Flash, who defeats it using one of the Ninja Village Leader's scroll techniques. Meanwhile, Tatsumaki has defeated Aggregation with widespread destruction, and Genos has just barely managed to vanquish the Extended Family of Darkness. Blue has defeated Eel Dragon, but his suit has become inoperable, so he leaves it behind to pursue the other monsters unarmed. Suiko flees from Machine God Mirror, surprised by its power. After it throws her into a corner store, she drinks the alcohol there to become inebriated and unleashes the Drunken Tiger style - however, she is still overpowered. Butterfly DX and Chain'n'Toad appear to support her, but to no avail, until the Hero Name Victims Association appears. Saitama easily destroys Machine God Mirror, shocking the others, before moving on to the next city.

Cyborg Heroes Arc

  • Chapter 130: After the monsters are taken care of, Tatsumaki receives a threat from a psychic organization called the Eleven, led by an old enemy of hers called Otento. She leaves on a special mission to go face their challenge. Meanwhile, Flashy Flash also receives a threat from a group of assassins called the Abandoned Masses for defeating the Heavenly Ninja Party, and he also leaves on a mission to fight them. This puts two of the Hero Association's most powerful heroes out of reach. The Neo Heroes discuss the statuses of the Hero Association's S-Class heroes, deeming Drive Knight as the only one they can truly rely on at the moment; all the others are either wounded, away for missions or training, or simply uncontactable. Child Emperor is investigating the corpse of Eel Dragon, which mysteriously died all of the sudden during Blue's fight with it. He finds a computer chip embedded in its head but is approached by Webigaza. Infelsinave and Zaedats have both had miraculous recoveries after being seriously wounded. Metal Bat finds this suspicious, so he confronts the mysterious Erimin and Destro about it.
  • Chapter 131: Erimin and Destro explain that Infelsinave and Zaedats have been converted into cyborgs like them to stay available for battle. This rubs Metal Bat the wrong way, but the two agents offer to show him the Recovery Room where the process occurs. Webigaza speaks with Child Emperor, telling him her backstory involving a Neo Hero-affiliated foundation that researches the creation of superhumans. Superalloy Darkshine continues training the Neo Heroes' recruits, surprised by their progress drinking the provided supplements. He gets a call from Puri-Puri Prisoner, who wants advice for training his jailmates to fight. Metal Bat is escorted to the Recovery Room by Erimin and Destro, where he is ambushed by the cyborg Mars Leo and Solitude. Metal Bat asks Erimin and Destro to help, but they explain he will be converted into a cyborg if they end up killing him. Disgusted, Metal Bat prepares to fight back.
  • Chapter 132: Speed-o'-Sound Sonic is confronted by A, who plans to arrest him and make him a cyborg Neo Hero. Despite being outnumbered, Sonic easily avoids their attacks. Realizing the need to reevaluate the situation, A and the Neo Heroes retreat. Saitama and the Hero Name Victims Association continue their protest. Annoyed, the Hero Association executives lament the Neo Heroes' uncooperative nature. Puri-Puri Prisoner and his jailmates are permitted to train outside, and Hammerhead (who is now an inmate) has just defeated his first monster. However, they are approached by Raiden and his Neo Heroes, who plan on forcibly recruiting them into their ranks. Puri-Puri Prisoner refuses to hand them over and a fight breaks out. Meanwhile, Suiryu leads a squad of Neo Heroes to take on a special target: the former Hero Hunter, Garou, who is working as a deliveryman.
  • Chapter 133: Garou defends himself and easily beats down the Neo Heroes, exciting Suiryu. However, Garou fights him very defensively, irking Suiryu into destroying Garou's delivery truck and fighting so hard his battle suit breaks. He lands what appears to be a finishing blow on Garou, but he simply gets back up. Suddenly, Garou gets fired by his boss for the destruction of his truck. Garou then quietly departs, leaving Suiryu to ponder his situation.
  • Chapter 134: The Neo Heroes continue to dominate the heroism market. The Blizzard Group has a meeting where they discuss joining the Neo Heroes too. Meanwhile, Fubuki meets with Psykos in a mental world, where Psykos cryptically states she has "failed" someone. Suiryu rides his motorcycle to the Hero Association base and notices Blue flying by overhead. Blue barges into the Hero Association, shouting criticisms at the staff and berating Saitama and the Hero Name Victims Assocation. Once he leaves, Suiko approaches Saitama and thanks him for the help with Machine God Mirror the other day. Suiryu arrives next and offers Suiko a position at the Neo Heroes. He notices Suiko's respect for Saitama and jokingly permits him to date her, embarrassing Suiko. Genos confronts Blue on his way out, and the two discuss rumors that someone, possibly Metal Knight, has been giving monsters power boosts. Genos tells Saitama about this rumor and the two agree to look into it.
  • Chapter 135: Child Emperor orders his Neo Hero unit to leave monster corpses intact so that he can perform autopsies, having discovered their bodies are enhanced and their minds controlled by microchips. Saitama and the Hero Name Victims Association race to fight a monster before the Neo Heroes can, shocking them with Saitama's speed. Child Emperor contacts Metal Knight about the monsters, but he refuses to speak with him as they are no longer part of the same organization. Metal Knight then looks at a catalog of people he keeps tabs on, including Saitama.
  • Chapter 136: Raiden continues to fight Puri-Puri Prisoner, and although he is much stronger, Raiden realizes his opponent is only fighting defensively so he stops. He tells his Neo Heroes that Puri-Puri Prisoner is a respectable hero and they will not blindly obey orders.
  • Chapter 137: Erimin and Destro have Metal Bat bound in chains in a cell. It's revealed that Metal Bat's Neo Hero-made bat broke during their fight and that they tranquilized him with ease. They lead Metal Bat to the Recovery Room to make him a cyborg, but they run into a suspicious Blue. Suddenly the true organizer of the Neo Heroes, Fuzzy, appears and orders the guards to let Metal Bat go. Metal Bat easily sheds his chains and walks away, showing how ready he was to fight. Blue decides to get in touch with Saitama, who may be a good ambassador for the Hero Association.
  • Chapter 138: While fighting monsters, Blue sees Hero Association heroes and asks them about Saitama. Mumen Rider finds himself face-to-face with a Demon-level monster due to the rise in monster aggression lately, but reveals he has accepted a Neo Hero battle suit and uses it to win. Saitama's neighbors Butterfly DX, Chain'n'Toad, and Forte discuss the mass exodus of heroes to the Neo Heroes and decide that they want to stay in the Hero Association with Saitama despite the odds. Hero Association staff are seen wondering where Zombieman has been. Back at Dr. Genus' takoyaki shop, Zombieman is seen pitted against a monster to push his strength: a resurrected Carnage Kabuto.
