Saitama Introduction Arc

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/opm_saitamaintro.jpg
  • 1st Punch, One Punch: Vaccine Man lands in the peaceful A-City with an enormous blast, obliterating the surrounding area. He takes flight, powers up, and destroys many buildings with energy blasts, killing many civilians. Saitama sees the mayhem live on the news at home, witnessing a reporter relaying the situation on-site. The signal suddenly cuts out, presumably because Vaccine Man killed the reporter and destroyed the camera. He decides to move out to stop the monster and changes into his "Justice Enforcement" hero costume. Vaccine Man approaches a schoolgirl crying for her parents and tries to crush her when Saitama grabs her out of the way. Vaccine Man asks Saitama's name, who replies that he's just an average man acting as an average hero. Vaccine Man is enraged at Saitama's simple backstory, explaining how Earth created him to end pollution by eradicating the human "virus" feeding on Earth's life energy. Enraged at Saitama being a hero merely "for fun," he grows into a colossal beast to attack him. Saitama kills Vaccine Man with one punch before shouting in frustration over his overpowered nature.
  • 2nd Punch, Crab and Job Hunting: Three years before the series, Saitama encounters the monster Crablante. The monster thinks he's a salaryman and is surprised that he isn't running away like the other people. Saitama sighs as Crablante concludes he must want to die, explaining how he became a crab monster from eating crab feasts. Saitama agrees and explains his situation as an unemployed salaryman who just got rejected for a job; he's so cynical that he doesn't run and asks what will happen. Crablante decides to let him go after seeing his lifeless eyes, as he only wants a child with a cleft chin. Saitama notices the child playing with a soccer ball in the park, who tells him he drew nipples on the sleeping monster with a permanent marker when asked. Saitama considers trying to hide him before mulling over why he cares, remembering how he said that nothing matters. Crablante appears behind Saitama and attacks when Saitama instinctively tackles the kid away and tells him to run, who still wants his ball. Crablante is confused about why Saitama is helping the child, who chastises him. The monster replies that it's too late because he killed some people on his way and will do the same to anyone who makes fun of him. He hates how his claws can't wipe his body and threaten to kill Saitama. Saitama interrupts his rant with a laugh as Crablante reminds him of a villain from an anime he watched as a kid. Crablante knocks him aside and attacks the child when Saitama hits him in the head with a rock, telling him that declining birthrates means he must save children. Saitama remembers his dream as a child to be a hero who could beat any villain with one punch, and he removes his coat to challenge Crablante with his tie. Crablante hits him twice while mocking him when Saitama rips out his eyestalk with his tie's loop, killing him. In the present, Saitama remembers the encounter, having trained so hard that he lost his hair and became invincible. However, despite fulfilling his dream, Saitama's heart remains empty to himself.
  • 3rd Punch, A Dangerous Being: The scientist Fukegao finishes his "Biceps Brachii King" steroid for his little brother Marugori to make him the most powerful man. Marugori drinks the drug and grows until he crashes through the ceiling, shocking Fukegao. Marugori picks his brother out of the rubble of the building and sets him on his shoulder, who proclaims the "Brain and Brawn Brothers" as the foremost duo in strength and intellect. Marugori destroys D-City with one swing and heads to B-city as news stations rise in an uproar to report the Demon-level disaster. Fukegao notices Saitama sitting on Marugori's other shoulder, who tells the behemoth to wear pants. Fukegao tells Marugori to swat Saitama, who accidentally hits the wrong shoulder and kills his brother. Horrified, he laments that he only wanted power and blames his brother's death on a cheerful Saitama. He grabs Saitama, throwing him to the ground with all his anger. Saitama gets up and brushes himself off when Marugori jumps on him and pounds him back to the ground, leaving a gigantic hole. Thinking he won, Marugori remarks that he feels empty inside despite being the strongest. Saitama jumps out of the hole and kills Marugori with a punch to his face, agreeing that overwhelming power makes life plain. Marugori's corpse falls on B-City, destroying it.
  • 4th Punch, Dark Undergrounders: Saitama wakes in his apartment when his wall explodes, and a hand grabs his head. Saitama punches the arm away, but it hits him in the face and sends him through the wall. Saitama lands on the street with his forehead bleeding when a creature rises from the ground behind him and sends him flying with one swing, completely blowing through his defenses. Saitama rises on the street to more monsters climbing from the Earth to attack and asks their name. They call themselves the Subterranean People, intending to take over the world and destroy humans so their excess members will have more space. The monsters claim to have killed 70% of humanity, asking Saitama not to hold it against them and complimenting his durability. Saitama takes one out when another attacks him, whom he kills too. He declares that he protects the surface and won't lose, feeling more adrenaline than ever before. Saitama rushes the enemies and fights like a berserker, killing all the Subterranean People with his heart beating madly. As Saitama stands over the corpses, he hears the Subterranean King note his strength and turns to see him burst through the ground. Excited for the thrill, Saitama is about to fight him when his alarm clock wakes him up, which he shatters while trying to turn off. Stunned and disappointed, he hears the Subterranean invasion outside and kills the King in one kick, telling the Subterranean People to bring it on. Unfortunately, they are much weaker in reality and immediately flee underground, leaving a white flag with "We're Sorry" and severely disappointing Saitama.

House of Evolution Arc

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/opm_houseofevolution.jpg
  • 5th Punch, Itch Explosion: Saitama fills his watering can at his sink, wearing a shirt saying "hage," meaning "baldy" in Japanese. He notes how his heroism hobby hasn't started eliminating evil or altogether significantly shaping the world. However, he doesn't care because he only fights evil as justice. After all, it pleases him, without which he would be dead. Despite that, he grows concerned over his increasing emotional numbness. In exchange for his newfound power, Saitama worries that he lost part of his humanity with how he feels nothing battle after battle and day after day. He attempts to swat a mosquito on his hand, not hurting himself but finding it intact, and he misses each subsequent swat, becoming agitated as the mosquito flies off. Saitama sees a Demon-level mass mosquito outbreak on the news heading towards Z-City, making him queasy. The swarm sweeps through like a sandstorm, sucking dry cows and people and making Saitama close his windows. After the people evacuate, a remaining man steals from a store and mocks them for running from mosquitoes when a strong wind snatches his hat away. Mosquitoes cover him and suck away his blood, leaving him an emaciated corpse. The mosquitos give the blood to the Demon-level Mosquito Girl, who complains about blood shortages. The cyborg Genos analyzes her and speaks up, deducing that killing her will disperse the swarm. Mosquito Girl orders them to swarm him, but Genos incinerates the division. The two prepare to clash as Saitama fails to kill another mosquito.
  • 6th Punch, Saitama: Mosquito Girl dodges a blast from Genos and rips off his left arm with her proboscis but loses her legs to him. Unable to win, she sends some mosquitoes to distract Genos and calls on every mosquito within 50km to come to give her blood from forest animals. Genos is about to attack the mosquitoes when he hears Saitama yelling and turns to see him running on the street, chasing the lone mosquito. He sees the mosquito fly into the giant cloud, becoming even more queasy as Genos warns him to hide or he may die. The mosquitoes drop on Genos and Saitama, and the former incinerates them in one blast. Genos mocks how stupid Mosquito Girl was for piling her entire swarm on him at once without life forms within 500m, letting him incinerate them with no casualties. He suddenly remembers Saitama, thinking he killed him. Genos suddenly sees him unfazed but naked from the fire burning his clothes away, thanking Genos for saving him. Having absorbed the blood, Mosquito Girl regenerates to her full strength, no longer needing her swarm. She attacks Genos, nearly ripping him apart at the chest. She dodges a spin punch from him and attacks him mercilessly, severing his legs and shredding his torso. As he falls, Genos tries to self-destruct to kill Mosquito Girl, apologizing to Dr. Kuseno for his failure. Saitama slaps her through a building, killing her and noting how much he hates mosquitoes. Genos is in awe, asking Saitama's name and requesting to be his disciple.
  • 7th Punch, Mysterious Raid: Genos talkatively shows up at Saitama's apartment to his chagrin, but he gives Genos tea inside. Saitama him to leave when he finishes drinking, as he doesn't want disciples. After a brief exchange about cybernetics, Genos enrages Saitama with a comment about his baldness. Genos begins monologing about his history, telling Saitama that a mad cyborg destroyed his home village and killed his family. In his grief, Genos met Dr. Kuseno and received body modification surgery, becoming a cyborg himself to take revenge. Agitated, Saitama orders Genos to summarize his request in a dozen words or less. In the House of Evolution, one of Dr. Genus's clones informs him of Mosquito Girl's death in one hit after consuming blood. Dr. Genus sees footage of Saitama killing her from his drones and decides to invite him to his lair to study his body and further his research. In a dozen words or less, Genos asks Saitama to teach him how to become strong and enthusiastically tells him he's ready. Genos then senses motion nearing them before Kamakyuri bursts through the ceiling and tries to introduce himself. Saitama punches his head off and tells him to pay for his roof when Genos tells him about more monsters outside. Genos leaves to fight, only to find that Saitama has already buried Frog-Man and Slugerous head-first in the ground. Ground Dragon bursts from the pavement and pulls Saitama into the asphalt up to his neck, who feels like a plant growing in concrete. Genos tries to rush to Saitama when the cyborg Armored Gorilla bursts through a wall behind him.
  • 8th Punch, You Mean This Guy?: Genos blocks Armored Gorilla's attack and suspects him of being the mad cyborg, trying to ask him some questions. He notices Beast King looming over Saitama and congratulating Ground Dragon for incapacitating him. Genos tries to run to Saitama when Armored Gorilla grabs his shoulder. Genos blasts him away and begins running again but jumps back as Armored Gorilla leaps in front of him and smashes a hole in the ground. As he rises to confront Genos, Beast King is angered as Saitama yawns from his comfort and threatens to scratch out Saitama's eyes when he steps out of the ground. Saitama's calmness enrages Beast King, but he easily dodges his slashes, one of which accidentally kills Slugerous and Frog-Man. Saitama weaves through the combination slash and kills Beast King with a chain of punches. Ground Dragon is terrified and tries to dig away when Saitama digs in front of him and punches him into the sky, killing him. Saitama notices Genos standing over a defeated Armored Gorilla, who refuses to talk and says Beast King will stop him. Saitama walks over and shows him Beast King's severed eye, making him panic and lose his robotic accent, agreeing to confess everything.
  • 9th Punch, House of Evolution: Armored Gorilla explains how Dr. Genus once contributed to science but lost faith in humans when those praising his intellect but disapproved of his ideals. He believed humans needed to control their evolution, which nobody would help him fulfill. After abandoning trying to help others, Dr. Genus researched alone from 15 to 70 when he finally made his breakthrough, regaining his youth and cloning himself en masse. He began experimenting on animals and soon moved to humans, creating many new species in his House of Evolution. Saitama interrupts Armored Gorilla in boredom, and Genos tells him to summarize in a dozen words or less. Armored Gorilla informs them that Dr. Genus is interested in Saitama's body, which they initially think is homosexuality. Saitama and Genos decide to head to the House of Evolution and eliminate them as Armored Gorilla signals Dr. Genus with a radar dish inside his skull. When pressed, he informs Genos that he is the only battle cyborg under Dr. Genus, who has nothing to do with the mad cyborg. The death of his strike team shocks Dr. Genus, who tells his clones to install traps in the above-ground portion of the base and prepare to release Carnage Kabuto as a last resort. Four hours later, Saitama and Genos scale the mountain on foot. Genos notes that he assumed Saitama could fly, who replies that humans can't. Genos remarks that Saitama still heroically always arrives on time, who replies that he's almost always late. They arrive at the House of Evolution, and Genos destroys the above-ground portion and part of the mountain in one blast. Saitama notices the basement's hatch amidst the rubble and rips it open to descend with Genos. One of Dr. Genus' clones fires a gun in terror at Carnage Kabuto, who punches him so hard he explodes. As Dr. Genus enters to speak with him with dead clones around, Carnage Kabuto casually breaks off his restraints and proclaims himself the "New Human." Dr. Genus remarks that any clone could take his place if Carnage Kabuto kills him. He shows him a picture of Saitama and Genos, asking him to get Saitama's body, dead or alive.
  • 10, Modern Art: Saitama and Genos enter the basement through a large hallway. Genos senses many lifeforms, most of which are clones, two of which are coming down the tunnel. Carnage Kabuto appears with Dr. Genus in hand, who tells Carnage Kabuto which of the two was Saitama. Carnage Kabuto smashes Genos into the wall and dashes behind Saitama, leaving Genos as modern art. Carnage Kabuto introduces himself tells him about a nearby room where they can fight. Saitama agrees after seeing Carnage Kabuto making Genos look like "modern art." In the room, Saitama faces the monster when Genos throws a fireblast from the doorway. The attack washes over Carnage Kabuto, who Genos then rushes and throws a barrage of punches. The attacks do little to Carnage Kabuto, who punches Genos across the room for Saitama to catch. Saitama tries to stop Genos, who throws another blast that Carnage Kabuto blows back at him, singing his hair into an Afro. Saitama steps in, with Dr. Genus watching from the doorway. Carnage Kabuto notes how he can feel Saitama's strength. Carnage Kabuto dashes behind Saitama and is about to attack him when he senses Saitama's aura. He jumps back in fear, knowing Saitama would have killed him if he attacked. Carnage Kabuto demands Saitama tell him the secret to his power, which Saitama agrees to, and orders Genos to listen closely.
  • 11th Punch, The Key To His Power: Saitama tells Genos and Carnage Kabuto the secret to his power of seeing your training through to the end. He claims he did 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and ran 10km every day to achieve his strength. He adds eating healthy and never using AC in summer or winter to strengthen one's mental fortitude to the list. Saitama says the true power of humanity is not messing around with evolution but changing themselves alone. Genos yells at Saitama, telling him to stop being ridiculous. He exclaims that the training regimen Saitama described was standard BOG strength training and isn't even all that hard. Saitama becomes confused as he told them the truth. Carnage Kabuto believes Saitama made fun of him and goes berserk, entering Asura Mode and stating that he'll rampage for a week, destroying stuff until next Saturday. Carnage Kabuto mercilessly pummels Saitama, throwing him around the room. Saitama analyzes his words and realizes that if his week-long rampage ends on Saturday, today was Saturday too and that he missed bargain day at the supermarket. He freaks out and punches Carnage Kabuto's head off, making his torso explode in death. Dr. Genus witnesses the spectacle and decides that evolution isn't the way to change, and he needs to change himself.

Paradise Group Arc

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/opm_paradisers.jpg
  • 12th Punch, Paradise Group: Hammerhead speaks to his Paradise Group about how working sucks and should be voluntary. One of his subordinates points out that no one is listening, which angers Hammerhead and makes him decide to level the home of the multi-millionaire Zeniru. He punches down a skyscraper with stolen battle suits before someone realizes they destroyed the wrong building, and Zeniru's mansion is further down the road. Mumen Rider engages the mob but quickly falls. Saitama wakes from a dream involving snotty fingers with a copy of Mob Psycho 100 beside him and sees the Paradise Group on the news. Saitama ignores the report as he brushes his teeth until he hears about how their baldness should make citizens cautious of bald people on the streets. Realizing that people could treat heroes like him as villains if the fear spread, Saitama becomes serious and moves out. Zeniru tries to evacuate his mansion when his ninja bodyguard Speed-o'-Sound Sonic promises to eliminate the terrorists. The Paradise Group arrives at the forest path to Zeniru's mansion when Hammerhead stops them, in time for Sonic to appear and threaten them with death. Many people mistake Saitama for a Paradiser as he dashes around looking for them, infuriating him.
  • 13th Punch, Speed: Hammerhead orders his men to attack Speed-o'-Sound Sonic, but he decapitates them in a flash and almost does the same to him. Hammerhead shrugs off the slash by raising his arms around his neck and letting his battle suit block the blade with barely a gash. He smashes the ground to create a shock wave, which Sonic dodges by jumping on a tree while taunting him. Hammerhead throws a boulder at Sonic, who dodges as it flies until it smashes the golden stool on Zeniru's roof. King and Charanko cameo as spectators, with the damage scaring King into describing the situation by shouting. Sonic narrowly avoids a second boulder before weaving through several more boulders. Hammerhead pushes through several trees and taunts Sonic, who notices all the boulders in a "convenient" direct path from Sonic to Hammerhead. Hammerhead lifts another rock to taunt Sonic, who scoffs at the idea that he could win if he knew his attack direction. As Sonic rushes him, Hammerhead drops the rock and smashes a tree down the path he made, but Sonic dashes behind him and hits him in the head with a kunai. Sonic calls Zeniru to confirm the kills but finds Hammerhead gone. His thick skull having stopped the kunai, Hammerhead runs away through the woods until he encounters Saitama.
  • 14th Punch, Don't Know You: Hammerhead asks if Saitama wants to join him, but he says that he's a hero for fun who's here to beat them for self-imposed reasons. Hammerhead smashes Saitama in the face, but it does absolutely nothing and leaves them both disappointed. Hammerhead activates his full power in rage and uses his "windmill attack," which reminds Saitama of how he fought as a child. He effortlessly stops the attack and shatters his suit in one hit. Hammerhead then runs away naked, promising to forsake evil. Speed-o'-Sound Sonic arrives and asks where Hammerhead went. When Saitama answers, Sonic mistakes him for a Paradiser and throws a kunai, but he catches it. Sonic tries to stab Saitama's eye, who grabs and breaks the blade. Saitama tells Sonic he isn't a member of The Paradise Group and tries to proclaim himself as the hobby superhero who saved the world many times, but Sonic doesn't recognize him. Sonic replies that the problem isn't his identity but how he blocked two attacks and challenges Saitama, believing his pride will win the day. Saitama points out how he wants to test techniques on him by the childlike smile on his face. Two robots from "The Organization" beat up Hammerhead and berate him for stealing the battle suits, leaving him nearly dead.
  • 15th Punch, Hobby and Work: Speed-o'-Sound Sonic dashes around Saitama, boasting about his speed and becoming annoyed that Saitama is keeping up. Sonic until he whips his head at Sonic to ask if he could leave. Surprised, Sonic flips and attempts to kick Saitama but runs his crotch into Saitama's outstretched fist. Saitama apologizes as Sonic lands, crossing his legs in pain and declaring him his rival. Saitama tells Genos about Sonic in his apartment, who mocks his redundant name and offers to eliminate him. After arguing over if Genos should stay around, Saitama expresses his disappointment over his obscurity. Genos informs him of the National Super Hero Registry because you need to register as a professional hero for the public to acknowledge your deeds. Saitama is confused as the Registry formed after he started heroics, the founder being Chinner, grandfather of the kid he saved as a salaryman. Saitama learns that non-registered heroes are delusional cosplayers to the public regardless of their badassery and decides to enter with Genos, after which he will formalize his mentorship.

National Superhero Registry Arc

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/opm_heroassociation.jpg
  • 16th Punch, Passed The Exam: Saitama effortlessly aces the physical hero exam despite intense mocking from others, among which is a man cosplaying a Perman. After breaking every superhero record, Saitama meets Genos in the locker room, agreeing that the tests were trivial. One hour later, Genos scored 100 points and became an S-Class hero, but Saitama only got 71 points due to barely passing the written test and ranks as a C-Class. Sneck greets them at the superhero seminar to lecture them about heroics, and Saitama's nonchalance annoys him. He implies that he can make Saitama loses his rank, who remains uninterested. Genos is happy about them attaining a superhero rank while going home, as it makes him Saitama's official disciple. Saitama is worried and regrets making Genos his disciple. Sneck complains about them to a colleague and predicts them quitting soon. His colleague replies that Genos is already S-Class above Sneck and that both recruits got full points on the fitness test. Furthermore, Saitama broke every fitness record and may surpass Sneck in no time. By the river, Saitama contemplates ranks and revises his opinion on Genos, as he might be impressive. However, Genos is not the kind of superhero Saitama wants to be. Sneck suddenly appears and declares that he is "newbie-crushing" Saitama, common in their industry. He punches Saitama's face with his martial art, who quickly buries him in the ground and walks away.
  • 17th Punch, Sparring: Genos tells Saitama that they were the lowest S-Class and C-Class, respectively, as they go to a quarry to spar. Genos asks Saitama to take the spar seriously and unfolds cannons from his arm, which surprises Saitama. Genos fires a beam that Saitama sidesteps when he launches himself and tackles Saitama into the wall as the beam hits. Genos runs on the stone wall and throws a flurry of punches when he notices Saitama missing and realizes he chased his afterimage. Genos scans and locates Saitama jogging across the ground and launches after him. Genos lands in front of Saitama and puts his hands together, firing a massive blast. Genos thinks he engulfed Saitama but turns to see him pat his shoulder and poke his cheek. Saitama dodges a punch from Genos, who accuses him of not taking the spar seriously. Saitama dashes right in front of Genos and flashes behind him to evade his kick, growing in size relative to Genos, and unleashes his Death Punch. He stops just shy of Genos's face, flicking his forehead. Saitama walks away, telling Genos to get noodles with him as Genos turns to see the massive dust cloud from Saitama's punch, noting how he can't imagine approaching Saitama's power.
  • 18th Punch, Business Activity: Genos asks to live with Saitama five days after their test and convinces him by offering high rent. Genos records Saitama's habits as he relaxes, hoping to learn the secret of his power. Saitama starts brainstorming how to remove Genos out when he tells him C-Class heroes get expelled if they're inactive for more than a week. Saitama wildly searches the Z-City for a crime to solve but finds nothing. The next day, he again roams the city and is freaking out about expulsion when he catches a kunai from Sonic but can't remember his name.
  • 19th Punch, No Time For This: Sonic is determined to kill Saitama, but he cuts him off and says he's too busy to fight. Enraged, Sonic slashes at Saitama when he bites and shatters his sword. As Sonic lands in shock, Saitama threatens to punch him if he continues to interrupt. A girl sees them and tells the C-Class Rank 6 Tanktop Tiger that Saitama is a "suspicious person." Saitama thinks he came to stop Sonic from attacking him out of nowhere. Tanktop Tiger reveals his target was him for dashing around town with a "suspicious" look on his face. Saitama tells Tanktop Tiger he is a hero like him, but he has never heard of this newcomer. Tanktop Tiger tells him to go back where he came from, as bothering people damages the heroes' reputation. Tanktop Tiger challenges Saitama if he does not leave, which gets him attention for being in the top 10 of C-Class. Sonic knocks him out with an exploding shuriken, scaring off the crowd. Saitama is worried and asks Sonic about it, who replies that he only put Tanktop Tiger to "sleep" for interfering. The civilians call for heroes, which makes Sonic decide to create a situation to force him to fight as hero duty. Sonic leaps into the air, throwing more exploding shurikens in his "Slaughtering Mayhem Formation" and causing havoc. Sonic refuses to stop, declaring that he will continue destroying until Saitama fights him. Saitama saves a child from a falling car by bending a tree over him, becoming annoyed by everyone interfering with finding a bad guy to beat down. Saitama then notices the havoc Sonic caused and swats him out of the air, hoping his act completes his weekly quota.

Rumored Monster Arc

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/opm_rumoredmonster.jpg
  • 20th Punch, Rumor: Spring Mustachio and Golden Ball investigate the outskirts of Z-City and discuss the monster wave there as the Hero Association HQ surveys the world. Q-City is the most dangerous city because of many monster incidents, but Watchdog Man keeps it under control. D-City, H-City, and W-City report no problems but had investigations to prevent potential threats. Sneck finds Hammerhead applying for a job in F-City and will investigate further. The staff members consider Z-City's abnormal monster count as Spring Mustachio and Golden Ball sense something in the ghost town and encounter Kombu Infinity. Golden Ball attacks first, but the monster swats his shot away and pulls him through the pavement and into a building, knocking him out. Spring Mustachio parries his attacks and launches his Tomboy Thrust, but Kombu Infinity dodges as Spring Mustachio calls for help. Kombu Infinity reveals a rumor of extreme monsters gathering in the outskirts of Z-City. Despite wanting to join the rumored monsters, Kombu Infinity decided to give up and become the rumor himself. Blue Fire moves out to aid Spring Mustachio as he falls, leaving Kombu Infinity nothing to do. The monster decides to go to an inhabited part of town when he encounters Saitama and tries to attack him, who realizes he forgot to buy kombu. In an unknown location, some monsters with silhouettes talk to each other about the Z-City monsters. Saitama cooks kombu soup, revealing that he spared Kombu Infinity and only took his hair. Genos mentions that eating kombu will not grow hair, enraging Saitama because he said nothing about hair.

Giant Meteor Arc

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/opm_giantmeteor.jpg
  • 21st Punch, Giant Meteor: After arresting Sonic, Saitama rose from C-Class 388 to 342 place, as Genos explains, while he remains last in S-Class but 6th in popularity. Saitama is shocked as Genos unabashedly reads compliments about him from first impressions. Genos says that he has yet to meet someone on par with Saitama, which creeps him out. A giant meteor heads for Earth as the Hero Association summons Genos to the Z-City Branch with a suitcase. Genos meets Bang, the S-Class Rank 3 Silverfang. Bang explains how everyone evacuated when they summoned the S-Class, and they are the only two remaining. When pressed, Bang explains how everyone is preoccupied or didn't bother because the Dragon-level disaster task was unreasonably hard. Bang had orders to stop this meteor that could wipe out Z-City. Saving people will make the Hero Association's name rise, but Bang claims it impossible and tells Genos to evacuate. Genos asks about the citizens, and Bang explains how they estimated the point of impact half an hour ago and will order an evacuation. Bang looks fearless as the alarm sounds, and Genos wonders what Bang is going to do. Bang wants to stay and protect his dojo with his Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist but sees Genos gone. The meteor destroys a satellite near orbit as the warning signal shocks the citizens into despair. Genos leaps from rooftops, noting that the meteor will destroy the outskirts of Z-City, and decides to test his "Arms Mode" suitcase prototype. The suitcase forms into two larger arms that cover his arms as he lands on a rooftop under the point of impact. Genos hopes to protect his teacher when he sees the hero Bofoi's robot flying towards him. As Bofoi lands, Genos pleads for his assistance against the meteor. Bofoi refuses, as he only wants to test his new missiles. When Genos questions his concern for himself, Bofoi reveals that he only sent a drone and his real body is in his base. He also tells Genos to call him "Metal Knight" because heroes don't use real names on the job. Genos jumps off to another building and calculates the point of impact as Metal Knight fires his missiles, which fail to damage the meteor. Genos starts panicking that he won't have enough time or power when Bang shows up and tells him that he's far too young to worry about failure. Empowered, Saitama flashes before Genos's eyes as the latter rips off his hoodie and pulls his core from underneath his plates, placing it in his left bicep. He tells Bang to get down and fires at the meteor, confusing Bang into thinking he slowed it for a moment. Genos drains his energy blasting the undamaged meteor when Saitama arrives and asks Bang to take care of Genos as he launches himself, shattering the meteor with one hit. Bang carries Genos away as the shrapnel falls and destroys the building, deflecting them with martial arts. The shrapnel rains on Z-City, devastating the landscape even after Saitama's punch nullified most of the force. Saitama lands as he looks around and nonchalantly walks away.
  • 22nd Punch, Voices: Three days later, Saitama and Genos relax in their apartment, watching the news about the devastation from the meteor fragments. Genos states that if the Hero Association could have reduced damage if they asked Saitama to help in the first place. After a brief discussion, Genos reveals that he went from S-Class 17 to 16, Metal Knight from S-Class 7 to 6, and Saitama from C-Class 342 to 5. Saitama is severely shocked as Genos says that with the Dragon-level threat, preventing damage would have gotten Saitama S-Class rank 5. However, the Hero Association thinking of Saitama as an extra lowered his standing. Saitama decides to go for a walk and notes the destruction when Tanktop Tiger accuses him of taking undeserved credit for the meteor. Saitama blows off these accusations, which makes Tiger call for his big brother, Tanktop Black Hole. They accuse Saitama of cheating again, who seems agitated and asks what they'll do about it. Tiger threatens Saitama with violence, but Black Hole insists that he knows the cruelest way to punish Saitama. Black Hole starts screaming that he's to blame for the destruction, which gathers a crowd and eventually makes some of them join in. Black Hole and the people tell Saitama to resign as Bang watches from a roof, noting his power in disappointment at the citizens. He remarks that he'd rather see Saitama quit heroics than become corrupted. Black Hole makes his "decisive" move and acts shocked like Saitama threatened the citizens. They declare they will "protect" the citizens by eliminating him as Bang leaves because he'd rather not watch a "public execution." Tanktop Tiger challenges Saitama first, only to go flying in one hit. Black Hole grabs Saitama's hands, only to fall to his knees from the crushing pain and apologize profusely, as he lied and gives up. Saitama interrupts, telling everyone in the area that the destruction was his fault and that anyone with a problem should say it to his face. Someone tries to interrupt, but Saitama cuts him off because he is not a hero for the people's admiration but does it because he feels like it. Several days later, a monster emerges from the ocean.

Sea Monsters Arc

  • 23rd Punch, Threat from the Sea: A giant Wolf-level sea monster rises from the shore, declares itself as one of the Seafolk, and orders humans to surrender the surface to their terror at once. Saitama cuts his rampage short and kills him in one punch. A wave brings some more Seafolk to J-City, who start attacking. A-Class hero Stinger saves a citizen and confronts the Seafolk in battle. Genos washes dishes and comments on their recent rankings as Saitama relaxes, who could soon move up to B-Class. He mentions that the Rank 1 C-Class hero has remained there for over half a year already. Genos receives a call from the Hero Association about the Seafolk attacking J-City, prompting Saitama to turn on the news. He sees a battered Stinger facing the Tiger-level Seafolk, knowing he won't last long. Now serious, Saitama decides to move out with Genos as fast as possible. The four remaining Seafolk tell Stinger to give up, as his supporters had left, and he would die there. Stinger blows the words off and goes all out with the bystanders having cleared the area. He meets an attack with a quick thrust, impaling one Seafolk before finishing the other three with quick jabs. Stinger celebrates his victory over a "God" threat when Deep Sea King knocks him out with a sucker punch.
  • 24th Punch, Deep Sea King: An city alarm announces that the Seafolk have become Demon-level and advises evacuation. Lightning Max observes Deep Sea King from afar and muses about Stinger's defeat. The monster suddenly appears behind him and shrugs off his attacks, first punching him into a building and then onto the street. S-Class hero Puri-Puri Prisoner arrives to save him from the collapsing building. He escaped from prison to confront Deep Sea King, and Sonic followed him out. Sonic thanks Puri-Puri Prisoner for letting him out with him. The hero explains that his gay sex offenses warranted an eternal prison sentence. The terms let him escape when he does hero work, to Sonic's disgust.
  • 25th Punch, Deep Sea King ⋅ 2: As Deep Sea King emerges from the dust cloud, Puri-Puri Prisoner gets excited after sensing his strong aura. He notices the unconscious heroes and accidentally rips his sweater, enraging him. After exchanging blows, Puri-Puri Prisoner takes damage and resorts to his Angel ☆ Style transformation, tearing his uniform and fighting naked with a combo attack. However, Deep Sea King resists and responds in kind, delivering each separate blow with killing intent and downing him. Sonic and Deep Sea King exchange words and begin fighting in the rain. Sonic easily outpaces the monster and severs his tongue but begins faltering as the rain rehydrates Deep Sea King's power. Sweet Mask appears on television to promote his new single and discuss his ideology that heroes should always be strong and beautiful with the interviewer. Sonic rapidly loses ground and decides to retreat for weapons when Deep Sea King snatches him. Sonic slips through his fingers, leaving his clothes behind and telling the monster he will die the next time they meet before leaving. Sonic bumps into Genos while running to get his weapons and briefly belittles his hero career. Minutes later, Deep Sea King effortlessly smashes through the shelter's wall. The C-Class All Back-Man surrenders, but Deep Sea King says he will kill them regardless. B-Class Jet Nice Guy, C-Class Bunbun Man, and A-Class Sneck mistake All Back-Man as challenging the monster and step up, who sees them and gets his hope back. The crowd starts cheering for the heroes as they prepare for battle while Saitama strolls around outside, looking for the Seafolk.
  • 26th Punch, Glimmer of Hope: Mumen Rider arrives in J-City and starts speeding to the shelter after the Hero Association informs him of the crisis over a call. In haste, he drops his phone while the assistant shouts at him to stay away because he has no chance, only for Saitama to find the phone and ask about the threat. After recovering from his surprise, the assistant checks Saitama's record and gives him the shelter address in a gamble to test him. Jet Guy falls first to a finger thrust as Deep Sea King knocks out the other three, and only Sneck lasts a bit longer before falling. Just then, Genos leaps in from a roof hole and blasts Deep Sea King out of the shelter with an incinerator uppercut to the face. Just as the crowd starts celebrating, Deep Sea King recovers and attacks Genos in his relief, ripping off his arm and knocking him into a wall with a face punch. Genos makes everyone evacuate while he fights the monster, as he cannot guarantee victory. As they trade first blows and launch quick hits, a little girl cheers on Genos and annoys the Sea King enough to spit acid at her. With no time to plan, Genos throws himself in the way of the acid.
  • 27th Punch, Beat-Up But Shining: Genos's body melts from Deep Sea King's acidic spit, who throws him against the wall and punches him through the stone and into the rain. The monster is surprised at how Genos sacrificed himself for a little girl and notes that he barely felt the scratches, which have all healed. Just as he is about to finish Genos off, Mumen Rider throws his bicycle at him from behind. Ignoring Genos's warning, he attacks Deep Sea King but gets easily parried, smashed around, and tossed away. Sea King tries to turn and finish Genos when Mumen Rider grabs him from behind and chokes out that he knows he has no chance before getting backhanded away. Now battered, Mumen Rider rises with a speech that he knows he hasn't got a prayer but must fight regardless because he's alone. While Deep Sea King is bemused, the people start cheering and pump him up for one final attack when the monster brutally downs him with a full-on punch and laughs. Saitama finally arrives to catch Mumen Rider, praises his fight, and sets him down before he spots Genos and is surprised that he is still alive. As Genos struggles to speak, Saitama tells him to wait for him to whop the "sea freak. With a fierce punch to the back of his head, Deep Sea King tells Saitama that he can hear him, but the attack did no damage.
  • 28th Punch, Since It's Raining: As Saitama faces him, Deep Sea King complements his durability, only for him to dismiss it as the monster being too weak. The citizens are worried because Saitama is only a C-Class and doubt he can change anything, dismissing his durability as a missee. Bemused, Deep Sea King states that because all life came from the sea, he should command all life on Earth as the ruler of the sea. Saitama interrupts, blows off his boasts, and asks him to hurry up because the rain is annoying him. Enraged, Deep Sea King throws a punch at Saitama, only for him to punch a hole in his torso mid-punch, killing him as citizens look on in awe. He slams to the ground as citizens go ballistic in gratitude for Saitama's power until one citizen starts mocking the heroes that came before Saitama because they didn't contribute to the effort. Even after someone grabs him, the guy continues insinuating that everyone except Saitama was useless even though they delayed the monster because apparently "anyone could do it." Agitated, Saitama laughingly says he took credit when the other heroes weakened Deep Sea King, telling the citizens to spread the word and not snitch. The citizens start thinking other heroes had helped, and Saitama was just a cheater. Saitama makes one more jab at himself, trying to make people not mock heroes, which makes citizens grateful to the wounded heroes rather than him. Genos worries about Saitama's decision and resolves that he won't interfere but will support Saitama if his choices damage his position. Speed-o'-Sound Sonic returns equipped to fight the Sea King, remaining unaware Saitama killed him. In G-City, the great oracle Shibabawa predicts the greatest catastrophe of the era and states how Earth itself is in danger.
  • 29th Punch, B-Class: The Hero Association airdrops a fan mail package for Saitama and Genos, as Z-City is too dangerous for them to visit on foot. All of the letters for Genos are positive, but four out of the five for Saitama are negative. The lack of appreciation Saitama has for the countless lives he saved enrages Genos; Saitama ignores the haters, but Genos deeply regrets showing him the letters. Saitama opens the only thank you letter out of five he got, which Genos assumes is from someone he saved somewhere. The Hero Association summons Saitama to praise him about his C-Class Rank 1 status, who admits he never read his rulebook. They ask if he wants to remain C-Class or rise to last in B-Class, so he decides to move up to B-Class because he doesn't like weekly work and wants to catch up with Genos. Saitama takes an interview and psychoanalysis test while several Hero Association staff discuss if he's a sham and call Sweet Mask to advise them on promoting him. Sweet Mask thinks they don't need him for tasks as trivial as B-Class promotions and only wants a vote in A-Class promotions and higher due to their publicity. Nevertheless, he authorizes promoting Saitama; after the tests, Saitama secures his promotion certificate and goes to a nearby food stand to eat. He finds Mumen Rider there, who reveals that he wrote the thank you letter to Saitama. The two share a smile and order mozuku and a drink.

Alien Conquerors Arc

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/opm_alienconqueror.jpg
  • 30th Punch, S-Class: Bang shows his Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist to Saitama and Genos at his dojo and asks if they want to learn it. The two decline, as Saitama is bored and Genos only wants destructive power. Charanko becomes angered challenges them, only for Genos to instantly pin him against a wall and remark about the lack of skilled fighters in Bang's dojo. Bang explains that his dojo used to be full of well-trained disciples, but his top disciple Garou scared them away, forcing Bang to pummel and expel him. Saitama acknowledges Bang's strength, making Charanko scorn him for not knowing of Bang's popularity. Bang interrupts Charanko's chastizing and remarks that Saitama is much stronger. As Charanko starts talking in disbelief, a Hero Association employee arrives, telling him that HQ has summoned the S-Class and picks up Genos too. Genos convinces Saitama to go with them to help as he's free, and Bang leaves Charanko to watch over the dojo. At the headquarters, Atomic Samurai greets them but declines Saitama's handshake, stating that he will greet him when he becomes strong as an S-Class hero. Tatsumaki suddenly starts belittling Saitama for coming, only for him to call her a sassy lost child. Genos informs Saitama of her Rank 2 in S-Class and her psychic powers, who ignores her ranting. The entire S-Class is present except Metal Knight and Blast, and everyone shares their thoughts in the room. Saitama asks for tea.
  • 31st Punch, Great Prophecy: Sitch introduces himself, explains that they couldn't find Metal Knight and Blast, and offers everyone a chance to leave. He warns them that he will confine them to the room until the meeting ends if they choose to stay. Metal Bat interrupts that he had to skip his sister's piano concert and threatens to destroy the HQ if Sitch has nothing crucial to say. Sitch announces that the great prophet Shibabawa has died, shocking most of the heroes. Zombieman asks if she got murdered, but Sitch says she just choked on cough drops. Superalloy Darkshine believes the Hero Association's focus is preventing disasters without Shibabawa's help; Sitch disagrees, as she has only predicted some crises. Saitama asks Puri-Puri Prisoner who Shibabawa was, who tells him she was a great prophet who could predict the exact timing of many tragedies. Sitch says the real problem was that her final prophecy was a note stating the Earth is in trouble. Child Emperor tries to make an excuse to leave, but Sitch mocks him that he was nothing more than a child if he didn't comprehend the danger despite his IQ. Sitch states that the disaster is above Dragon and will happen within half a year, and Watchdog Man comments that they cannot do much to prevent it. Saitama remarks that the prophecy might come true sooner than expected. Suddenly, the headquarters comes under fire from Skyfolk. Outside, the Sky King prepares to attack with his henchmen when an unseen being assaults them and kills all but the leader.
  • 32nd Punch, From Space…: A large spacecraft flies over A-City and fires its cannons, destroying the entire city. Sky King falls to pieces as the multi-headed alien Melzargard comments on killing him and destroying the city. A-Class hero Iaian crawls out of the rubble and sees only the HQ remaining after the attack. He notices the giant ship above him when Melzargard appears behind him and crushes his helmet, Iaian having dashed away. Iaian notes his killing intent and proceeds to engage him head-on. Sitch flies into a panic after seeing how A-City exploded in an instant, bewildered that the prophecy happened immediately. Bang asks why the Hero Association building is still standing. Sitch replies that Metal Knight built the HQ and made it much more resistant than shelters but continues panicking about the situation outside. Metal Bat notes how the HQ has no windows because Metal Knight modeled it to keep out monsters. As Child Emperor prepares to take the heroes outside and confirm the enemy, Genos asks Saitama to join them only to notice that he has already torn a hole in the roof. Saitama climbs out onto the rooftop, leaps towards the spaceship, and dodges a colossal bullet, relieved that it's not lasers because they would destroy his costume. Saitama dodges more colossal bullets and crushes one, kicking it back to the ship and telling the aliens to leave. Melzargard regenerates from Iaian's attacks and launches a strike that destroys some rubble and his left arm. Merzargard splits himself into five bodies to execute different tasks when Atomic Samurai appears and slices them apart, noticing his injury. Iaian warns him that swords cannot hurt Melzargard and requires retreat when his master destroys the regeneration and makes him stop his bleeding. The creature regenerates into one entity to face Atomic Samurai as Bang and Metal Bat arrive. Puri-Puri Prisoner ambushes him with Dark ☆ Angel ☆ Rush, taking Deep Sea King's "intent to kill" advice to heart. On the roof, Child Emperor notes the fight on the ground and asks for opinions on the spacecraft. Superalloy Darkshine recommends King, who thinks it is too high, and they should use its inactivity to summon Metal Knight. Agitated, Tatsumaki decides to destroy the vessel herself and denies Genos to accompany her, who doesn't care much because Saitama has already boarded. Groribas intercepts him in a hallway but dies in one punch as Saitama continues tearing apart the ship. As tactician Geryuganshoop watches security monitors in shock, captain Boros enters and learns that Saitama has damaged 24% of the vessel in 4 minutes and killed everyone in his path. Boros replies that the energy core alone can sustain the spacecraft and orders him to face Saitama with Groribas and Melzargard, only to learn of the former's death. As Geryuganshoop tries to summon Melzargard, Boros stares at Saitama in awe as he destroys the crew's living quarters. On the ground, Melzargard regenerates from Puri-Puri Prisoner's rush and launches an attack, only for Bang to deflect it and piece him with a martial arts combo. The attack sends him flying as he splits off a small flying head to contact the ship for cover fire when Metal Bat pulverizes it. Geryuganshoop then talks to Melzargard to inform him of Saitama's intrusion, shocking him.
  • 33rd Punch, Guys Who Don't Listen: Saitama tries opening a locked door, only to rip off the surrounding wall accidentally. Metal Bat pummels the flying head but fails to overwhelm its healing. Iaian tells the four heavy-hitters to retreat and find something like heat against Melzargard, which they refuse because they're only physical fighters. Geryuganshoop orders Melzargard to return to the ship to deal with Saitama, who can't move because the S-Class was too overwhelming. Melzargard requests aerial bombardment, which Geryuganshoop cannot execute because the controls belong to the lower combatants. Geryuganshoop contacts the gunners, warning Melzargard to evade friendly fire. Melzargard tries to call him down to help deal with the heroes but gets no response. When the flying head is about to reassemble from Metal Bat's latest strike, he notices a marble within the debris and grabs it. When the monster tries to take it back, he shatters it in one hit, melting the head. Metal Bat informs the other heroes of Melzargard's weakness, renewing their confidence and shocking the monsters as he waits for bombardment. Geryuganshoop telepathically orders Saitama to leave the maze-like ship credited to Kazuo Nomura, who tricks him into giving him directions to Boros's throne room. Saitama smashes through the door and is about to confront Boros when Geryuganshoop appears and attacks him by telekinetically flinging rocks.
  • 34th Punch, Are You Stupid?: The rock shower fails to affect Saitama, who remarks that throwing rocks was a waste of telekinesis and throws one back, splitting his head and killing him. Boros complements Saitama's power and introduces himself as the leader of the Dark Matter Thieves. Saitama introduces himself as a professional hero and questions what universal beings want with Earth, stating that he won't let them get away with destroying A-City. Boros explains his power is too high to enjoy fighting and received a prophecy from an alien that someone on Earth could give him an enjoyable fight. As Boros took 20 years to reach Earth, he demands that Saitama give stimulation to his existence. Saitama punches Boros into a pillar, scolding him about rampaging across planets for fun, as not even office workers get that bored. Boros miraculously survives, but his power-sealing armor breaks as he transforms into his second form. The gunner arms cannons and fires on the battlefield when Tatsumaki stops the bullets and fires them back, damaging the vessel to Melzargard's distress, who has only two heads left. The S-Class heroes launch a combination attack, letting Bang find and shatter the second-to-last Melzargard marble when the monster sucker-punches him. Saitama and Boros continue fighting and complimenting each other's power, Saitama having punched off Boros's right arm.
  • 35th Punch, The Fight: Tanktop Master tries attacking the vessel by throwing rubble, only for Tatsumaki to show him up by hurling much more. While the crew panic about their fate, Drive Knight leaves because the others don't need him, which Child Emperor allows. Before leaving, he warns Genos that Metal Knight is his "enemy" but refuses to elaborate, only saying to stay away from him. Melzargard gloats about how he defeated Bang, claiming that focusing on attack rather than defense will kill the S-Class instantly and threatening Atomic Samurai. Shockingly, Bang rises topless but unhurt, distracting him and letting Atomic Samurai slice him up and expose his last marble. As Melzargard reforms, Bang seizes the marble and explains that while they can't track marbles inside him, his regeneration is head-first and thus must contain it. Bang destroys the marble and kills Melzargard, but Metal Bat worries about Tatsumaki fighting the vessel. As Saitama and Boros launch rapid strikes, Boros punches and kicks Saitama through two pillars, against a third, and out the roof. When they shatter the covering that ordeal wrapped around them, Boros compliments Saitama's power and fires an energy blast strong enough to disintegrate most people down to the bone. While the shockwave stuns the S-Class, Saitama effortlessly walks through the attack when Boros dashes behind him, landing a massive blow on his head.
  • 36th Punch, The Power of Boros: Believing Saitama took damage from his attack, Boros explains his species' regeneration as he regrows his arm. As his regeneration stands above other members of his species, he remarks on how Saitama will eventually lose from damage accumulation. Saitama tells him to shut up, showing neither the attack nor the talk hurt nor impressed him, asking if Boros had finished the fight. Angered, Boros unleashes his ultimate Meteoric Burst form on Saitama and kicks him to the moon with his latent energy. The attack scares and kills many crew members. On the moon, Saitama holds his breath, calculates the gravity, and jumps back to Earth. Boros slowly calms, noting how his anaerobic exercise-like form burdens his body and is only supposed to be a quick-win trump card. Saitama lands on the vessel, causing a massive explosion and tilting it, which the S-Class mistakes as the work of Tatsumaki. Excited, Boros decides to go all out as Saitama throws off a one-liner about how "it worked." Boros launches a barrage of attacks, only for Saitama to see through them and punch him in the abdomen hard enough to make him cough blood. Now even more excited, Boros compliments Saitama that he is indeed worth defeating. Saitama launches a barrage of punches that completely pulverizes Boros, who regenerates in seconds. Boros begins charging his finishing move, Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon, a gold-toned blue energy beam he fires from his mouth. As the electricity further unbalances the vessel and shocks the S-Class, he declares he'll fully unleash his power with enough force to sterilize a planet. With the blast coming toward him, Saitama unleashes his Serious Punch, punching the air so hard that the shockwave slices the beam in half and destroys Boros's torso. The shockwave explodes part of the vessel, making Superalloy Darkshine cheer but not Tatsumaki as Genos looks on in awe, wondering if Saitama did something. The gravity sphere cracks, sending the crew into a panic. We see how Saitama's Serious Punch split the clouds worldwide as Boros lies dying but still conscious. Saitama attempts to affirm his remark that they both fought to the end, but Boros sees through his lie, knowing Saitama was still holding back and how he never stood a chance. Saitama leaves with only superficial damage as Boros remarks that you can't trust prophecies with his dying breath.
  • 37th Punch, Crash: The energy sphere shatters, crashing the vessel and crew into A-City's ruins and forcing the S-Class to flee from under it. Sweet Mask appears to demand why A-City got wrecked and scoffs when Metal Bat tells him how they took care of the alien invaders who did it. Sweet Mask claims the S-Class didn't protect A-City as Metal Bat protests that the superstar didn't show up to help. Atomic Samurai attempts to explain how they meet in HQ and saw the city wrecked, but Sweet Mask fears the media response. Puri-Puri Prisoner brushes media off and claims they did their best, making Sweet Mask say that "useless" people should quit heroics. Metal Bat warns Sweet Mask not to get full of himself as an idol and threatens to beat him sky-high, who replies that he doesn't move up to S-Class to protect A-Class Rank 1 and prevent "garbage" from getting in. Metal Knight arrives, prompting Sweet Mask to lecture him in surprise as his drone studies the alien wreck. Remembering Drive Knight's warning, Genos questions his post-battle arrival, claiming he wants to salvage the wreck to reverse-engineer technology for better weapons. Recognizing him, Metal Knight reminds him of his surprise when the meteor shattered and says he wants the craft because he believes in better weapons for peacekeeping. Sweet Mask and Metal Bat mock his desires, claiming that giving him weapons was a waste and threatening him with a beating. Superalloy Darkshine calls everyone over because he found and captured the alien survivors, only for Sweet Mask to summarily execute them. When questioned, he explains that he "executed justice on the spot" because such evil beings have no right to live. Genos notes Sweet Mask's merciless character and compares him to himself before meeting Saitama, wondering if he has a traumatic past. Genos starts worrying about his master, only for Saitama to kick his way out of the spacecraft. Superalloy Darkshine recognizes him, and Tatsumaki questions why he was on the vessel. Genos dashes over in concern as Saitama tries to brush him off and go home together, infuriating Tatsumaki in their ignorance. Saitama starts saying something about prophecies being garbage when she interrupts and starts accusing him of arrogance for attacking alone. She claims that she could have handled the attackers without help and insults Saitama. Annoyed, Saitama makes Genos call her a brat and threaten her to entertain him, infuriating Tatsumaki because she's older than them and throwing Genos into a boulder. As Saitama panics about Genos, Tatsumaki almost attacks him when Bang manages to calm her, telling her to mind her rank. Exasperated about troublemaker heroes, Bang watches her float away. He retreats from the battlefield, complaining about back pain. With A-City destroyed, Metal Knight moves the spacecraft away and rebuilds the HQ into a colossal fortress with roads running from it to every other city to deploy heroes quickly. The new HQ contains apartments available to A-and-S Class heroes who want to live there.

King Arc

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/opm_king.png
  • 38th Punch, King: The Wolf-level Tongue Stretcher, who became a monster due to his immense love for reptiles, tries to rape some women to make them bear his children in M-City. King arrives and intimidates him into submission, eliciting cheers while he thinks about quitting heroism. After the crowd swarms him and hears his King Engine, King makes them disperse in a panic before buying the limited first edition of "Doki Doki Sisters" for 5800 yen. Out for groceries, Genos sees King and explains his status as the most powerful hero to Saitama, excluding Saitama himself. A robot attacks, making Genos hold Saitama back to see King fight. The robot says it's Machine God G4 from the Organization, sent to eliminate King. King declares himself the most powerful man on Earth as the crowd cheers, making G4 unfold his backplate into a sword to demand his full power to help gather data. King asks to use a bathroom, saying his might diminishes when holding urine. G4 gives him 10 minutes for relief, after which it will kill ten people per minute. Saitama and Genos observe G4 from behind a telephone pole, with Genos analyzing him as a Demon-level threat. With G4's monstrous build, Genos wonders if the robot is more powerful than himself. Terrified, King hides in a stall because he's only an unemployed 29-year old otaku. His heart beats loud when scared, so people call it the "King Engine." Demon-and-higher monsters attacked him five times but fell when King didn't look, making the public think King killed them and making him S-Class. King drops his game, thinking that he only didn't tell the truth to preserve the mood. King has a panic attack when he realizes 10 minutes have passed and runs away, leaving the people to die. Seeing King gone, Genos shatters G4's sword and rocket-punches him down. As they fight, Genos denies Saitama's help because he wants to beat G4 alone to get the top 10. Saitama tells him to win and leaves as an alarm sounds, declaring G4 a Tiger-level with Demon-level potential. King rushes to his apartment to start his dating sim, praising the opening and criticizing the voice actress's flat tone. As King ponders his game name and rejects his real name, Saitama suggests his hero name, which King denies before realizing his presence. Saitama says he used the open window, shocking King because he's on the 22nd floor. Angered, King tries to scare Saitama away before recognizing him from the meeting. Saitama questions King's game tastes and grabs a fighter, making King panic and say he got the dating sim by mistake and wanted a fighting game. Saitama wonders how King mistook the title, making him lie that it should be "Doki Doki Shooting Star" as he closes the TV to "save power." Saitama asks King to play the fighters as he panics, confusing him because Saitama thought him bored with disrespect. Genos doges G4's punch and fires a blast through its neck to melt it from the inside, using its size against it. G4's molten shell crumbles away from its body, revealing the robot's core form. Genos scatter the crowd as the robot fires lasers. Saitama praises King's skill and learns how he won tournaments as a kid, thinking him good in battle and games. As King tries to wait him out, Saitama asks why he didn't fight G4 and tells him about Genos's struggle. King spits his drink in shock as Saitama questions why he ran despite his power, asking if it makes fighting a hassle. A Demon-level siren rings before King can reply, warning of a giant crow over M-City and making people stay inside. Saitama starts leaving with his groceries, saying he'll come over later when the crow crashes on the balcony, forcing him to restrain it one-handed. Saitama sees how danger always seeks King, who panics, thinking of the crow as his penalty for lying. Saitama asks what he'll do, as he practically must fight the invader by the castle doctrine. Genos evades G4's lasers but loses his right forearm and lands on a building as the robot fires at him. He throws a fire extinguisher to deflect lasers and clog G4's emitters. Genos rips out a wall fire hydrant to douse G4's original melted shell, making steam and confusing the robot. He ties the robot in his broken arm cable, which can't break out because steam defocuses its laser. Genos tells G4 he knows someone stronger than King and declares himself superior before killing it.
  • 39th Punch, That Person: King remembers how someone beat the five threats he ran into, including Vaccine Man. The Hero Association paid him because the public assumed he did it even though he's never brawled before. King laughs to himself at how the people gave him the hero name "King" because they thought him the most powerful man. King panics and confesses his fraudulence to Saitama, fearing for his life as the crow charges. Hearing his words, Saitama kills the crow in one hit as King thinks he got eaten, questioning him in surprise. King soils himself in shock, further surprising Saitama as King recognizes his voice. He remembers his first monster encounter with the Tiger-level Octopus Claw Man, who gave him his scar over his left eye. A then-still-training Saitama with hair had saved him and killed the monster, taking heavy damage in the process. He told King how he planned to be a hero for fun and rushed off for a big sale. King apologizes profusely to Saitama for stealing his credit, who questions his fulfillment. After King fails to answer if he wants to continue heroism, Saitama only tells him to get more powerful and starts leaving. His lack of anger surprises King, who slowly calms down. Saitama promises to come back and play video games later as he leaps from the destroyed balcony with his groceries.

Garou Introduction Arc

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/opm_garouintro.png
  • 40th Punch, Outlaw: Genos gives Dr. Kuseno Machine God G4's parts, informs him of its power, and gets him to upgrade his cyborg body with them. He warns Genos against pushing too hard and feels Saitama's goal for him is too reckless, asking him to bring him next time. Dr. Kuseno asks him about the mad cyborg, who Genos still completely hates despite his heroism and connection with Saitama. Genos hasn't found a footnote trail yet and vows to obliterate him, with Dr. Kuseno warning him against engaging alone due to their mutual enemy. Sitch summons mercenaries and criminals to the HQ while keeping three top A-Class heroes around for protection. He tries to hand out a paper, only for Sonic to ask if Saitama lives at HQ, getting disappointed when he learns he doesn't. Blue Fire orders Sonic to stay, who reveals he stole the handout sheet and reads out that threats above Tiger this month eclipse the past three years. Sonic tells the crowd how the heroes think it's because of Shibabawa's prophecy and wants to hire them to aid them against the great danger, refusing the offer and leaving. Blue Fire questions why Sitch wants to recruit them, who replies that they have too few heroes and offers good pay for joining. Annoyed, Heavy Tank Loincloth crushes a thug for taunting him when Garou speaks up from the crowd, scaring Magic Trick Man as he proclaims his power.
  • 41st Punch, The Man Who Wants To Be A Monster: Garou continues ranting and refuses Sitch's order, forcing him to order the heroes to toss him out. Garou remembers his past as a kid who watched "Justice Man" and rooted for the villains because he empathized with their willpower and considered justice always prevailing to be unearned. Believing the popular always beat the hated, Garou vowed to become the ultimate monster and lead villains to victory. He breaks Heavy Tank Loincloth's arm and punches him in the face, knocking him down. The criminals cheer Garou on, but he tells them he'll kill them too, enraging them as Garou says he sided with the monsters. Blue Fire mocks Garou calling himself a monster as he calls him scum and blasts fire at him. Garou easily dodges and rips off Blue Fire's right arm as the fire burns two criminals. Sitch summons every hero in HQ and a medical team to calm the situation as the enraged criminals assault Garou. Sonic leaves the HQ, ignoring the commotion he hears. Disappointed at the meeting's lack of data on Saitama, Sonic decides to seek him out alone. Saitama plays video games with King and gets frustrated when King grabs every item because he can handle the boss alone. Garou beats up everyone in the room as Sitch cowers against a wall, formally declaring war on heroes. He says he's too weak to fight the S-Class yet and vows to return within half a year after training by hunting King.

Blizzard Group Arc

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/opm_blizzard.png
  • 42nd Punch, Blizzard Group: Formally dressed, Fubuki, Eyelashes, and Mountain Ape break open the Z-Cit ghost town's gate, planning to recruit Saitama with force if necessary. Genos washes dishes and tells Saitama he is now B-Class Rank 7 while Genos is S-Class Rank 14. Genos thinks it's good when people notice Saitama and report his deeds when he doesn't do so himself. He senses a fast object outside, goes to check, and finds Sonic, who claims to be Saitama's rival. Genos scoffs at the idea and threatens Sonic, who taunts him and starts fighting, leading them away. Saitama plays on the console King lent him and accidentally overwrites the save. Twenty minutes later, Fubuki's team bangs on Saitama's door and demands to see him. Saitama first mistakes them for salespeople and repeatedly fails to recognize them, irritating Eyelashes. Fubuki introduces herself, explains the factions in heroism, and invites him to her Blizzard Group to secure his rank because she thinks he can't rise further. Saitama casually dismisses her, claiming he'll get to A-Class soon enough and mocking the idea of factions. Enraged, Fubuki orders Eyelashes and Mountain Ape to cripple him so hard he has to retire, only for Saitama to effortlessly knock them out in one hit. Agitated, Saitama denounces Fubuki's ways and tells her to scram.
  • 43rd Punch, Don't Look Down On Heroes!: Fubuki reveals her psychic powers but fails to impress Saitama, enraging her. She blasts him with her Hellstorm, a tornado meant to rend flesh and shatter bone. Fubuki starts gloating to herself when Saitama appears behind her and angrily lectures her about the nature of heroism, enraged by her factionalism. Now furious, Fubuki smashes Saitama between two pavement pieces, only for him to effortlessly shatter them. Fubuki launches another rock storm, pushing Saitama back as she swipes at him with a box cutter. Sonic and Genos suddenly arrive, interrupting their fight. Genos fires an incineration blast that kicks up a dust cloud, driving Sonic away as he apologizes to Saitama, who protests about the dust and asks what he's doing with Sonic. Fubuki asks about their relationship and is surprised to find Genos calling himself Saitama's disciple. Genos recognizes her and assumes her newbie-crushing backfired against Saitama, who hastily corrects that only his blast managed to make her stop. Sonic suddenly throws an exploding shuriken, making Fubuki mistake him for a monster. Saitama corrects her and tells everyone to go home as Genos and Sonic mock each other for their inability to hurt and hit each other, respectively.
  • 44th Punch, Accelerate: Sonic shatters the streetlight he drops from as Fubuki senses his killing intent and fighting skills from his stance. Genos calls him a stalker and says he will erase him, amusing Sonic as Genos prepares to release his full power. He dashes behind Sonic and rips his ribbons, engaging Sonic in vicious close combat with his full speed. As they destroy a wall, Saitama notes Genos's speed upgrade while Fubuki can't see anything. Genos takes a liking to frequently dashing behind Sonic, first to launch a barrage the ninja barely dodges and again to evade a sword slash. Sonic weaves through a third such attack in shock as he dashes away, Genos having ripped off his topknot. Sonic is speechless as the cyborg dashes behind him a fourth time and launches a combination attack. Sonic dodges the barrage and moves so fast that he creates four afterimages around Genos, mocking him. He slashes at the cyborg from every angle, who can't read his movements before resorting to blowing up the entire area. As Fubuki braces herself, Saitama suddenly throws Genos to the ground, evading Sonic's sword and stopping the fire blast. The ninja lands and accuses Saitama of softness; he replies that Genos blowing up his house's surroundings would be too troublesome. Saitama tells the two they have no reason to fight, chastizing Genos for squabbling for no reason. He tells Sonic he's so annoying that he'll take him seriously for once and challenges him. Excited, Sonic unleashes his Tenfold Funeral, creating ten afterimages and shocking Genos and Fubuki, who retain their reservations. Even so, Sonic starts thinking he always feels like he'll lose. Saitama makes countless afterimages with his Serious Sideways Jumps, overwhelming Sonic's technique and sending him rolling. Having almost fainted from the move, Sonic flees as Saitama tells Genos the ninja didn't die, and Fubuki stares at him in shock.
  • 45th Punch, Hero Name: In the apartment, Fubuki explains to Saitama and Genos how her reasonably gifted intellect and psychic powers should have let her stand at the top. However, her sister Tatsumaki's power eclipses her and makes people see her as a weakling in contrast. Fubuki created the Blizzard Group to surpass Tatsumaki in popularity. When Genos suggests she aim for A-Class Rank 1, Fubuki explains how Sweet Mask's too powerful and even prevents Atomic Samurai's disciples from entering S-Class. The revived caveman Suppon beats up two men when Sweet Mask appears and accuses him of evil. Although the Hero Association told him to bring the escapee back to the lab alive, Sweet Mask lays him low in two hits mid-attack and crushes his skull. As he rises, people cheer on his power. Fubuki tells Saitama he can't rival Sweet Mask, Tatsumaki, King, or Blast and asks him what's wrong with factionalism. Saitama tells her he doesn't want to be her henchman, which she scoffs at because she doesn't believe his greater power could move up more alone. King arrives at Saitama to retrieve the console he lent to Saitama, shocking Fubuki at how casually they discuss the wiped save file and broken buttons. Fubuki considers joining Saitama in melding with S-Class as Genos notes to himself how Saitama is so powerful that other super-people come to him despite his apathy. The Hero Association registers Genos as "Demon Cyborg" for his philosophy and Saitama as "Caped Baldy" for his looks. The hero cadres talk about how the names make them feel like real heroes and await their services. Sitch gets annoyed, as the meeting only spent 15 minutes planning against Garou but wasted hours debating Genos and Saitama's hero names. He reminds himself that Bang has volunteered to hunt Garou, reminds himself of Tatsumaki, Blast, and King, and thinks a mere deluded human is unrelated to the prophecy. Garou defeats Tanktop Vegetarian and scoffs at his weakness in an alley, wanting more powerful heroes to fight.

Hero Hunt Arc

  • 46th Punch, Hero Hunt: Bang batters Charanko in a surprise spar, only to expel him for "lack of talent" and force him to report to Saitama's group. He notices King and Fubuki present and tells everyone about Bang's strange behavior. Genos tells Charanko about how Garou's rampage at HQ marked him as a vicious monster. As Bang volunteered to hunt him down, he must have expelled Charanko for his protection. Genos asks for Saitama's opinion, but he is apathetic as he mulls over how Bang's hero name of "Silverfang" is much better than his. Saitama asks who Charanko is as he forgot about him, forcing Genos to whisper to him. Garou encounters Mumen Rider in a park and says he's here to hunt him, confusing him. Tanktop Vegetarian interrupts, having brought the entire Tank Topper Army for revenge. Garou lashes out at him when the S-Class Tanktop Master and the group's leader knocks him aside. Garou laughs in joy, having found an S-Class hero to hunt as Tanktop Master shatters the pavement in one hit and launches his Tanktop Tackle. The attack throws Garou into the air as the army cheers, but he lands with only superficial damage. Everyone is surprised, and Tanktop Master doubts his humanity. Bang meets with his brother Bomb at the dojo to hunt down Garou and stop his rampage.
  • 47th Punch, Technique: Tanktop Master lands another hit on Garou, earning cheers and making him further doubt Garou's humanity as he senses his menacing aura. As Garou coughs blood, Tanktop Master throws his finishing punch when Mumen Rider jumps in his way, taking the hit. Mumen Rider rebukes everyone for being so brutal on Garou, so Tanktop Master stops his assault, calms his army, and tells Garou to go home. Garou begins to leave but quickly takes back his words, making Tanktop Master throw another punch. Garou instinctively counters the heavy blow with Bang's Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist and quickly pummels Tanktop Master. Mumen Rider charges at him, but Garou promptly destroys him before knocking out Tanktop Master. The entire army attacks Garou, who hits them with a combo and leaps off a wall to KO one member before battering everyone else. Charanko attacks but also falls in short order. Bang and Bomb arrive in the morning to find the beaten mess of heroes in the park.
  • 48th Punch, Banana: Three C-Class heroes discuss how pathetic Tanktop Master must be to lose against Garou, and one starts bragging about his martial arts. Garou suddenly appears behind them and pummels them all in seconds. Saitama visits Mumen Rider in the hospital with some bananas and asks him about the incident, who informs him of Garou. Mumen Rider contrasts his power with the Deep Sea King, as Garou is more skill than power and a martial arts prodigy. Tanktop Master is also present, but Saitama fails to recognize him and innocently mocks him, enraging the hero. Tanktop Master groans about Garou's power as Saitama hands him a banana and asks for details. As people discover the three battered C-Class heroes, Garou meets a kid named Tareo in a park, who has the official Hero Guide. Tareo shows Garou the entries on King and Lightning Gengii, the latter of which he has an autograph. Garou decides to target Lightning Gengii next and lies that he also wants an autograph, asking where to find the hero.
  • 49th Punch, I'm Bored Anyway: Tareo agrees to help Garou find Lightning Gengii and asks if he likes heroes too. Garou compliments his catalog and asks to borrow it for a while, which Tareo refuses. Garou gets interested in the monster entries, surprising Tareo that he's interested in urban legends. Garou thinks the monster entries are "cool" because they're scary, and his taste makes Tareo uncomfortable. Garou wishes he could have an "entry" in it one day, making Tareo think he wants to be a hero. Tareo says he wants to be one too but isn't athletic enough, after which he tells Garou he's creepy. Garou starts leaving for his "patrol" to find the soon-to-pass A-Class Golden Ball and tells Tareo to show him the catalog later. As Garou exits the scene, they get into one more linguistic argument as he tells Tareo not to call him "Mr." because he's not that old. Tanktop Master tells Saitama about Garou's deflecting skills, how he uses your momentum against you, and how he targets pressure points. As Garou uses actual skill instead of brute strength, he is exceptionally dangerous for heroes. Tanktop Master worries about if Silverfang can defeat Garou before he actively threatens public security. Saitama gets excited at how impressive Garou's power is; considering Garou now hunts the S-Class, he awaits testing their strength together. Mumen Rider hears his remarks and reminds himself not to talk about Saitama's power. Saitama also visits Charanko and asks him about where to spar against good martial artists. Charanko suggests Bang, leading to a verbal confrontation with Saitama about "old people." Charanko tells Saitama about the Super Fight martial arts tournament. He has a ticket to enter and gives it to Saitama to let him watch. However, Saitama plans to enter disguised as Charanko, win the cash prize, and find martial arts opponents.
  • 50th Punch, Getting Cocky!: Garou goes to a local bar and challenges Golden Ball to a duel. The hero tells him the place is too cramped, apologizes to the chef, and offers to take Garou to a parking lot. Hero and villain fiercely argue about if a drunk hero is competent as they traverse an alley. Golden Ball suddenly launches a sucker shot, tearing Garou's face. As the hero mocks Tanktop Master's loss, Garou evades every subsequent slingshot blast until Golden Ball shoots a ricocheting bullet, tearing through Garou's right leg. Golden Ball tries to talk, only for Garou to continue mocking the power of heroes, forcing the hero to unveil his memory gold bullets. He throws them and makes a ricocheting bullet net, but Garou has prepared for it this time and promptly weaves through it. Golden Ball fires his last bullet, but Garou deflects it into a ricocheting projectile before batting the rest aside. Garou tells him to surrender when a handkerchief approaches and turns into a fencing sword. Spring Mustachio leaps in and grabs it, launching a barrage of slashes that Garou evades. Golden Ball tells him about Garou's pierced leg, who says his long-ranged sword is suboptimal in closed spaces. Spring Mustachio angrily denies it and unleashes a spherical slash flurry, surprising Garou and forcing him to jump. The hero instantly turns upwards and launches his sword thrust, impaling Garou's hand but taking a hit to the face and falling at once. Garou notes how he learned from the catalog that the attack is too destructive horizontally in populated areas. As he could only attack vertically, Garou casually countered it with some slight damage. As Garou throws the fencing sword away, Golden Ball warns him against cockiness as he leaves.
  • 51st Punch, Headgear: The Hero Association worker Zeimeet walks down the street with two beautiful women, flaunting his status and money by giving it to them. He asks for a kiss in exchange for meeting Sweet Mask when Garou appears behind them and punches him, making the women take pictures. Garou gets disgusted at the Hero Association's staff when Saitama suddenly appears behind him and says he's "finally found it." Garou thinks he's a nobody trying to arrest him for publicity and chops him to no effect. Saitama mistakes him for a robber and knocks him out with one chop. Saitama buys a wig from the wig shop behind Garou, which had Ghostface's mask from Scream among the wigs. Garou wakes up in the trash, confused at what happened as Saitama tries the wig on at home, planning to use it to disguise as Charanko at Super Fight. Genos mistakes Saitama getting a wig for concern over his baldness and calls Dr. Kuseno over his master's "crisis." He schedules a Saitama-custom enhanced hair transplant at the lab next Wednesday. Saitama denies any mulling over his hair and tells Genos to stop overthinking baldness. He shows Genos his Super Fight ticket and tells him of his plans; they agree to go to the tournament together that day to experience martial arts.

Monster Raid Arc

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/opm_monsterraid1.png
  • 52nd Punch, Don't Put It Back!: Executives discuss Garou attacking Zeimeet, alarmed due to his disaster level being high enough to pummel Tanktop Master. Due to this risk, they sound an alarm and assign S-Class heroes to executives in public, claiming it to be more crucial than cleaning up monsters. King gets called mid-game and uses the levels to claim he's busy fighting monsters and "must confront a boss." Metal Bat goes with Narinki to a sushi train restaurant, whose son Waganma's manners of returning dishes annoys him. As he is about to snap, Metal Bat's sister Zenko calls him, so he rushes to the bathroom and promises to help with her groceries after his assignment. Metal Bat shudders in rage and resolves never to accept jobs from executives again when a rumble shakes the restaurant. Thinking it's Garou, Metal Bat rushes out to find Junior Centipede and Venus Mantrap kidnapping Waganma. As he calms down due to it not being Garou, Junior Centipede suggests taking Narinki too. Metal Bat pulls his jacket from under the rubble and dons it, telling the monsters they haven't paid yet as Narinki panics. Saitama arrives at Super Fight in C-City with his wig and enters as Charanko. He struggles to remember Charanko uses Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist and says he uses "Water Polo" something.
  • 53rd Punch, Waiting Room: Saitama sits in the waiting room and starts mulling over Charanko's rashness at entering while also hoping for strong opponents. He examines the contestant list and concludes that the top contenders, Bakuzan and Suiryu, are the most powerful. Bang's former student and Charanko's acquaintance Sour Face enters, making Saitama hastily cover himself with the list. The martial artist chastizes him for listing "Water Polo Carbonated Fist" as his style and acknowledges "Charanko's" uncertainty. He tells Saitama how Bang won Super Fight a few years back and used it to promote his dojo, and he wants to do so too. He also explains how someone beat up a contender called Wolfman and entered under his name six months ago to win eventually. After the staff found the real Wolfman unconscious in his locker, they disqualified the masked man while forbidding disguises like masks or wigs, on penalty of disqualification and arrest. Seeing Saitama sweating, Sour Face thinks that he's also figured out that the fake Wolfman was Garou. He fills Saitama in on the incident where Garou beat up and forced out everyone in Bang's dojo because he's "learned everything" before Bang managed to defeat and expel him. Saitama chastizes Sour Face for leaving despite staying that long, saying "Charanko" will beat Garou and telling the bulky man to stop faking superiority. Agitated, Sour Face reminds Saitama that Super Fight is a day-long event, so they'll eventually face each other if they both win enough. He threatens to teach Saitama "what a real battle is about" as he leaves the room. Saitama removes his wig and notes how he can't even remember what it feels like to fight a real battle.
  • 54th Punch, Centipede: Metal Bat swipes two sushi pieces off a falling dish as he sits on the dead Venus Mantrap and dying Junior Centipede. Waganma cheers as Narinki tries to take a photo of Metal Bat's pose, who warns them about the danger and tells them to go to the shelter with him. Junior Centipede scoffs at Metal Bat for trying to stand at the top, explaining how he once thought the same while playing the centipede leader before his senior appeared. The ground shatters, knocking the trio off their feet as the Demon-level Senior Centipede arrives and declares he will avenge his junior. As Narinki and Waganma scream in terror, they fall unconscious from the Demon-level Rafflesidon's foul stench as it emerges from a sewer. Metal Bat asks if they aren't related to Garou while holding his breath and dispersing the gas by spinning his weapon. He decides to smash them first and ask later. Garou joins Tareo in a park and learns how Watchdog Man always sits on his platform in Q-City's Watchdog Plaza. The place is always brimming with heroes, but Watchdog Man ignores autograph requests. Garo declares Watchdog Man his next target, surprising Tareo, who asks if he can accompany Garou. Suddenly, a warning comes online about the monsters fighting Metal Bat in S-City, telling citizens to hide indoors until the hero takes care of them. Hearing the threat, Garou makes Tareo sprint home as he sets out to confront Metal Bat.
  • 55th Punch, Fighting Spirit: Metal Bat fights Senior Centipede and Rafflesidon when the former rips his clothes with a constriction grind before Metal Bat hits him aside. Senior Centipede compliments his power as Metal Bat asks why they want the sleeping Narinki and Waganma. Rafflesidon says they'll tell him if he beats them as his hypnotic gas starts disorienting Metal Bat. Senior Centipede slashes him in the face and body-slams him, leaving the hero almost downed. Senior Centipede gloats about wishing Metal Bat good night before brutally laying into him with another barrage. Metal Bat hits himself in the head, shocking Rafflesidon and breaking the hypnosis. He deflects Senior Centipede's confident next charge, breaking one of his feet off. As the monsters freeze in shock at how easily he overcame the hypnosis, a furious Metal Bat restores his fighting spirit. He sarcastically promises to "be gentle" as he one-shots both monsters while monologuing so hard that they explode. Metal Bat suddenly snaps out of relief as he realizes he forgot to ask their motivation. He rushes to wake Narinki and Waganma, threatening to smash some heads. B-Class Pineapple and C-Class Mohican arrive to help, surprised at how quickly Metal Bat killed the Demon-level monsters. Metal Bat asks them to take Narinki and Waganma to the hospital and run, as he promised to help her little sister shop. They notice a crack forming on the ground when a giant centipede erupts from the ground. Pineapple and Mohican recognize it as the wanted Dragon-level Elder Centipede who damaged a city before, surprising Metal Bat. The low-level heroes try to convince him to take Narinki and Waganma and retreat to find more S-Class heroes. Knowing the monster only wants the executive families, Metal Bat orders them to evacuate the two unconscious people as he goes all out to occupy Elder Centipede.
  • 56th Punch, Head-On: Metal Bat considers what to do, as Elder Centipede would be the most massive monster he's ever faced. As Pineapple and Mohican flee with Narinki and Waganma, they notice Elder Centipede spotting them. As he charges down, Metal Bat warns them about the situation and to run and not look back. Pineapple and Mohican notice Metal Bat not retreating as he launches a full-power strike, creating a shockwave but not even scratching Elder Centipede's carapace. The monster tells him to scram before slapping Metal Bat into an apartment with one of his feet. Metal Bat rises from the rubble, noting how Elder Centipede intentionally moved his face away from his strike and concluding he must target the monster's face.
  • 57th Punch, Meddling: Elder Centipede rushes down the road when Metal Bat leaps onto its back from the apartment and climbs it while clenching his weapon in his teeth. Just as Elder Centipede is about to hit Mohican and Pineapple, Metal Bat reaches his face and unleashes his Dragon Thrashing, causing the monster noticeable discomfort. Elder Centipede slams his body across the city, shattering buildings and releasing a shockwave. Mohican and Pineapple react in terror at how Dragon-level threats look down on humans as an alarm orders people to evacuate, as shelters were useless against such a massive threat. Garou pushes through a crowd filled with a plethora of panicked cries, approaching S-City while ignoring everyone's warnings. Garou wants to reach Metal Bat before he dies, as he knows Elder Centipede is a terrible matchup for him from a glance. The monster suddenly throws Metal Bat from the sky, who crashes next to him. Disappointed at another monster defeating a hero for him, Garou decides to leave to find someone else when Metal Bat gets up, only slightly annoyed. Excited, Garou declares that he will hunt Metal Bat as his second S-Class. The hero doesn't take him seriously at first, telling him to get away from Elder Centipede. Garou instantly chops at Metal Bat with a martial arts strike, which he blocks and knocks Garou back with a flick of his weapon. Metal Bat recognizes Garou as the "Human Monster" who pummeled Tanktop Master and groans at finding another problem. Garou and Metal Bat stare each other down, and both fail to intimidate the other with words.
  • 58th Punch, Giant Insect: HQ staff hears how the Dragon-level Elder Centipede has critically damaged S-City. He grew since his last sighting two years ago, and officers have lost contact with Metal Bat, making them request some more A-and-S-Class heroes. Command knows Elder Centipede's more a natural disaster than a monster. They mull over whom to deploy, wishing for King and Tatsumaki but knowing King is fighting other stuff. Before one officer can check the S-Class, he gets emergency alerts from everywhere. Elder Centipede corners Mohican and Pineapple when they see Metal Knight's battle robot approach and fire missiles. They watch as Metal Knight is amazed at how his missiles didn't even scratch Elder Centipede. He wants a shell sample from the monster to make weapons, who calls him an annoying fly. The heroes cheer for Metal Knight when he orders them to leave and not interfere with testing. Embarrassed, they walk away in relief, concerned for Metal Bat, when the Tiger-level Sludge Jellyfish, Rhino Wrestler, and Phoenix Man appear. Sludge Jellyfish demands Narinki and Waganma, not that it would save anyone. Phoenix Man faces them and notes that he heard Metal Bat was fighting Elder Centipede, wondering where he was. Metal Bat trades strikes with Garou and ignores him, who dodges a heavy strike before slapping and elbowing the hero in the face. Metal Bat breaks his fall with his weapon and shatters the pavement in one swing. Garou admires his endurance despite bleeding and fractures but believes he's at his limit when he barely dodges two swings to kick him in the face. Much to Garou's surprise, it doesn't even faze him. Metal Bat begins a barrage of accelerating strikes and cracks the pavement with enough force to make a nearby apartment crack. Garou unleashes his martial arts for a brawl, rocking a parking lot as he lands on the fence, realizing how Metal Bat draws power from tanking damage. He questions the hero's power source, only for Metal Bat to blow it off and tell him he's "pumped up" now. Irritated, he asks Garou if he's done fighting, as he must deal with Elder Centipede's havoc. Slightly stunned, Garou decides to play with him and jumps off the fence, cracking the ground to raise a sewer lid and kick it at Metal Bat. The hero beats it back, which Garou dodges and dashes in to pummel him. Metal Bat declares Garou's mugging and hero hunting unforgivable and says he'll beat his rotten core out. Garou deflects his overhead strike with a martial arts maneuver to sucker punch him in the face. Garou weaves through Metal Bat's storm of swings, asking him if he'll persist until death. Angered, Metal Bat retorts that he'll fight until he wins. Garou dodges two swings as the hero starts spinning his Brutal Tornado move. The hero hunter laughs despite being cornered and unleashes his skill in Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist to effortlessly deflect the strikes. Garou lands a blow to Metal Bat's chest in one final clash, knocking him down. Garou gloats about how Tanktop Master and Metal Bat lacked skill with power when he realizes the fight shook his bones. One solid blow would have been harsh, and he's grateful he never took one. Abruptly, someone shouts, "Big Brother!" Metal Bat is about to land a swing on Garou but stops when he hears his sister Zenko's voice. Shocked that he can still fight as the circular ground cracks, Garou hits Metal Bat down. Zenko screams in horror as he taunts Metal Bat for missing his opportunity when he relaxed his guard, sealing his fate. Garou primes a killing blow when Zenko intercedes to declare the fight over because Metal Bat promised never to fight in front of her. Garou questions why he should respect their rules as Metal Bat tries to push his shouting sister away. After a glance, Garou cleans his ear and decides to spare them to save time to hunt Watchdog Man. Metal Bat reminds him that Garou picked the fight in the first place. Zenko tugs and yells as he taunts the leaving Garou. Phoenix Man sees Garou from a rooftop with Sludge Jellyfish and notes how he didn't finish the fight. He praises Garou's hero hunting and considers how he could help the Monster Association.
  • 59th Punch, Only You: Metal Bat scolds Zenko for coming and asks why she came, who says she knew he was at the sushi restaurant. He suddenly realizes he has to protect Narinki and Waganma, which Zenko protests because she thinks he'll die with his injuries. She tries to get him to go shopping, only for him to tell her to go home. Agitated, Zenko jumps and hits him in the back of his head, chastising him. The hit knocks out Metal Bat, surprising Zenko. Phoenix Man notices and wants to use this opportunity to eliminate him for good but turns to find Sludge Jellyfish already gone. The fluid monster crawls out of the drain, wanting to kidnap Zenko as an additional hostage. Garou suddenly appears behind him and smashes him into a puddle, as he thought the monster was watching him from behind, which he hates. Garou notices Sludge Jellyfish survived his punch and compliments him for it when Phoenix Man intercedes. Garou assumes they want to fight two-on-one, so Pheonix Man tells him they are not his enemies and are merely interested in his talents. He gives Garou the Monster Association's card, who seems briefly interested, exciting Phoenix Man, who offers to lead him to their complex. Garou abruptly rips up the card in disinterest and tells them to go away. Both monsters get agitated but manage to keep their cool; Phoenix Man says he'll pretend he didn't see that. He tells Garou they'll meet again if he continues hunting heroes and flies away. Sludge Jellyfish slips back down the drain with a parting shot as Garou turns away in disgust. Pineapple and Mohican fail to hurt Rhino Wrestler one bit, who scores their attacks out of 100 and doesn't even give a ten in disappointment. He tells them about how hard he trained and held himself back from rampages for this day to slaughter heroes so plainly. Rhino Wrestler declares that even one thousand heroes wouldn't be challenging. Phoenix Man swoops in and tells him to take the hostages as it's time to go. Annoyed, he says that he thought they would fight Metal Knight. Phoenix Man tells him that fighting a mere drone would only weather them, so retreating is optimal. He also reminds him that today wasn't the main event, so he doesn't have permission to cut loose. Rhino Wrestler relents and asks about the hostages; Phoenix Man tells him they only need Waganma, as their reaction would be more fun. Pineapple and Mohican selflessly charge forward to stop them, only for Rhino Wrestler to ram them aside. He asks Phoenix Man about his disaster level after his feats, who is indifferent and tells him to take Waganma and leave. He flies up to Elder Centipede and tells him to retreat with what they came for, who sighs and scoops up Phoenix Man and Rhino Wrestler carrying Waganma. Metal Knight sees Elder Centipede plunge into a hole in the ground and latches on with his drone's suction cups to follow. A-Class Heavy Kong slowly loses stamina against Marshall Gorilla in W-City despite a crowd cheering him on, with no reinforcements in sight after he signaled 15 minutes ago. A-Class Lightning Genji's stun baton fails to gain ground against the affable electric Tiger-level Maiko Plasma and Electric Catfish Man in D-City. One officer at HQ receives reports of the Demon-level Free Hugger, "Monster Princess" Do-S, and Hundred-Eyes Octopus wreaking havoc in multiple cities and slowly overwhelming hero reinforcements. He and two other officers then get news of Eyesight and Pureblood as they look on in shock. Sour Face bangs on Saitama's room door as he reads ONE's unserialized manga Tennis Player Ryu, telling him to hurry up because everyone's waiting for him. Saitama hastily dons his wig and agrees to go as Genow waits outside in the crowd.
  • 60th Punch, Admission: The opening ceremony of the 22nd Super Fight begins as the announcer introduces Max, Lin Lin, Benpatsu, Sneck, Volten, Bazuzu, Gatlin, Hamukichi, Dave, Rosie, Choze, Mentai, Jakumen, Sour Face, Zakos, "Charanko," Bakuzan, and Suiryu. Some spectators recognize Genos as he applauds Saitama and wonders if he also likes martial arts. The announcer introduces Bakuzan, the most powerful contender in Super Fight's history. He then hails the martial arts prodigy Suiryu on stage as the crowd takes pictures. Suiryu is only after the prize money and notices a cute girl. The announcer notes that Bakuzan is also here and anticipates their clash in the finals. Saitama looks on in boredom as Bakuzan and Suiryu analyze each other; the latter only wants to fight Wolfman, whom he saw on TV. Garou finally finds Watchdog Man in Q-City just as Super Fight officially begins. Sour Face stands against a wall and tries not to panic when Saitama asks what's happening, agitating him because Saitama called him an old man. He reminds Saitama that they're the same age despite Sour Face being his senior, surprising him. Saitama knows Charanko is 20 while he's 25, meaning he's older than Sour Face. Zakos shows up and questions Saitama's fighting style, suspecting him of being an outsider. He tells Saitama not to look down on martial arts, demanding that he quit, threatening to unleash his wrath on him if he doesn't. Saitama thinks he's talking to Sour Face, who hastily corrects him. Zakos notices how Saitama tied his belt incorrectly and chastises him for treating Super Fight as a playground. Sour Face hastily ties it for him as Zakos tells Saitama about how Super Fight tickets only go to recognized dojos. However, contenders are free to give their tickets to anyone, making Zenko suspicious about how Saitama got his ticket. Sour Face tells him "Charanko" is also from Bang's dojo, disappointing Zenko at how low Bang's standards have fallen. He tells them how Super Fight made Bang a judge, shocking Sour Face. However, Zeno doubts Bang will show up, saying he's abandoned his dojo for heroics. Sour Face is enraged and gets mad at "Charanko" for not defending Bang despite being his disciple. Saitama is apathetic towards the conversation and tells him he's anticipating Zenko beating him. However, he doesn't think Zenko's that strong, making Sour Face praise him. Agitated, Zenko informs Saitama that he's looking forward to beating him to a bloody pulp. Bang and Bomb discuss chasing Garou for a week from a rooftop, with Bomb questioning if he would face an A-Class, suspecting he may have entered Super Fight again. Bang ignores him while eating sushi, which Bomb notices. Bomb suddenly sees someone attacking one of their marked A-Class heroes, which Bang suspects is Garou, dropping his sushi and drink to the street. Demon-level Fist Fight Djinn pummels A-Class Smile Man and causes pandemonium, disappointing Bang and Bomb that it's not Garou. Bang makes Bomb say back as he confronts the monster. Smile Man notices him and wants to fight together, only for Bang to push him aside. Fist Fight Djinn sees him and starts gloating about how his monster martial arts surpasses any human. He says he wants to bring an S-Class's head to the Monster Association when Bang cuts him off and slays him with a Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist combo. Bang leaves with Bomb to find Garou, determined to stop him before he becomes like that, leaving Smile Man in awe. He looks at the monster's corpse and wonders where it came from and what its dying words were. Super Fight begins its first round, with Lightning Max facing Lin Lin.
  • 61st Punch, Dark Horse: Lin Lin moves first, intercut with Do-S striking down Darkness Blade, Saturn Man, and Pandaman with her whip. Dynamite Man stares in awe and tries to help Darkness Blade. Do-S explains how her whip turns people into mindless love slaves, ordering the three heroes to fight Dynamite Man. Darkness Blades strikes him, who begs them to stop. The enslaved heroes charge when the Blizzard Group arrives, and one member knocks out Darkness Blade with a kick. Excited at having so many targets, Do-S tries to whip them when Fubuki stops it with her psychic powers. She chuckles at the idea of beating a Demon-level threat like her and freeing her subordinates while getting other heroes to owe her a favor. Dynamite Man steps away as the two women mock each other. Lightning Max destroys Lin Lin in the first round as Zakos notes how he won without hero gear. However, he still thinks he could have done better. Sour Face explains to Saitama that "reversed seeds" are people who start against the best people due to low expectations. Saitama understands how they thought Lightning Max was weak as Sour Face remarks that martial artists becoming heroes is easier. Saitama mentions Bang, whom Sour Face says is different because his skill means martial arts will always be in his debt. He tells "Charanko" that he's also a reverse seed as the "weakest" contender. Saitama thinks that the two next to him aren't strong and are only there because Super Fight treats him as a giveaway. Zakos says they're strong, and he'll face Bakuzan after beating Saitama, who assumes that he means the pairing is accurate and that Zakos's a weakling. This remark provokes him as they enter their round, and Zenko declares that Saitama's dead. Marshall Gorilla smokes banana cigarettes as he stands over the defeated Heavy Kong. As the civilians call for an ambulance, the monster orders them to spread the word of this defeat. Electric Catfish Man shrugs off Lightning Genji's assault and punches him into a wall; the hero runs on it and swings back with a telephone pole. He tries to run when Maiko Plasma short-circuits his left rollerblade with electricity. Electric Catfish Man digs underground and jumps out to sucker punch Lightning Genji into a vending machine, after which the two monsters start gloating. The HQ is in disarray as staff learn of Heavy Kong's defeat and fail to contact Metal Bat and Metal Knight. Lightning Genji has requested help, but HQ has nobody to spare. The staff calls the police, but all officers are occupied with rescue missions and maintaining shelters. In I-City, Hundred-Eyes Octopus devours a building as people flee when Death Gatling, Butterfly DX, and Bone try to hit his "Blind Spot" together. Their attacks fail to faze it, so they try to gather dozens of heroes and stop it from consuming buildings to grow. Eyesight's nerve poison paralyzes every hero sent at him, forcing HQ to issue a recall order and deploy cyborg heroes immune to poison. The Hero Association HQ is in disarray as Pureblood in V-City claims that the Monster Association has underestimated themselves and overestimated the humans. Saitama knocks out Zakos with one slap as the announcer reports that Zenko wanted to propose to his girlfriend at Super Fight, who didn't show up. Genos sees the foregone conclusion and worries that Saitama will win so fast that he won't witness proper martial arts. Suiryu sees Saitama's power and predicts that he will be his final opponent.
  • 62nd Punch, Reason for Seeking: The stadium trembles as Suiryu faces Lightning Max, who refuses to think about Suiryu's power, as he only wants to surpass Deep Sea King. He tells Suiryu he's aiming for something higher and will use his strength for sparring with his new moves. Suiryu sees he's a hero who trains profusely and tells him that everyone seeks power for different reasons. The match begins, and Lightning Max launches into a somersault dash. Suiryu easily dodges and knocks him out with one kick to his head. Everyone watches Lightning Max roll off the ring; Suiryu says he only gets stronger to enjoy himself and apologizes for being more powerful than the hero. Genos sees Suiryu's power and remembers how he's only in it for the money, surprised that some civilians are stronger than heroes. Not everyone with combat prowess has a career centered around it, just like how Saitama only works as a hero as his hobby. Although Genos rules out anyone on Saitama's level, he is now aware of Suriyu's power. He awaits seeing if he could give Saitama some genuine martial arts experience. Sour Face freaks out at Suiryu's kick and doesn't like Saitama's apathy, thinking he's a newbie. Sneck and Benpatsu begin their round, the former vowing to make the latter pay for looking down on professional heroes. As Suiryu is strong enough to beat Lightning Max, Sneck wants to defeat him and hopefully boost his ranking. Super Fight staff receive an evacuation signal and learn about the monster attacks, but the cheering drowned out the sirens. The staff members search for the evacuation manual, wanting to cancel Super Fight and refund the tickets. Bakuzan intercedes and tells them an evacuation will cause chaos. With martial artists at hand, the stadium is safest, and Bakusan promises to handle any monsters. Genos receives a text about the plethora of undetermined disaster level C-City monsters. He decides against telling Saitama, as he believes he must focus on the match. Genos resolves not to let monsters interrupt Super Fight and to eliminate every last small fry.
  • 63rd Punch, Games and Combat: Benpatsu taunts Sneck, saying he's the lowest-ranked hero. Sneck effortlessly catches his attack and corrects that he's merely lowest in A-Class, shocking him. Benpatsu feints a discussion and tries to punch Sneck in the face when the hero downs him with a strike to his abdomen. Benpatsu stutters that Sneck is strong, who replies that he would like to believe him. However, the reality is that the battlefield of the most powerful heroes comes with terrifying monsters. Genos incinerates a rampaging monster in C-City when the cheering crowd starts pointing him in different directions. He calls C-City's Hero Association branch, who tells him about seven threats in his area. As Genos has eliminated the first one, he gets the officer to send him the remaining six's coordinates. Volten easily defeats Bazuzu with electric martial arts as Genos kills the second monster with an electrically charged punch. Gatlin beats Hamukichi with a barrage of fast strikes but takes some heavy damage. Genos tears the third monster to pieces with a storm of strikes. Dave beats Rosie in one hit by jumping on him and squeezing him with his body weight while taking no damage. Genos promptly squashes the fourth monster with a rocket jump. Choze destroys Mentai in their round and would have killed him if not for the referee stopping him, showing off his scariness. Genos chokes the fifth monster and threatens him with deadly torture to get the other monsters' locations, after which he kills him quietly. Saitama cheers on Sour Face in his match against Jakumen; Sour Face tells him to shut up. Sour Face sizes up Jakumen, who hopes everyone can become friends after Super Fight ends. Demon-level Face Ripper is about to kill a civilian with his swords when Genos finds them and stops him with a fire blast. Face Ripper partly blocks it with his blades as the civilian flees. They both taunt each other when Face Ripper charges and starts swinging his swords extremely fast. Genos dodges and deflects the hits, the clash chipping his arms. The two each boast about their power when Face Ripper swings one sword at Genos's head, only for it to shatter against him. Genos had purposely left an opening to pull apart Face Ripper's guard and promptly incinerates him with a burning punch to the head. The attack makes a small mushroom cloud in viewing distance to the stadium as he awes the C-City branch with his power. Genos contacts them and learns the last monster is 2km to the northwest, so he goes to join the heroes already there to fight it. He arrives in an alley and finds three beaten heroes, of whom Shoulderpads warns Genos about the roach-like monster's speed; always keep him in sight in battle. Awakened Cockroach appears behind him, and they exchange words, Genos loathing insect monsters and wanting to get back in time for Saitama's match. He resolves to focus on the fight and emulate Saitama. Sour Face wins his match against Jakumen and is disappointed when he learns Saitama went to the restroom during it. He warns Saitama about Bakuzan's power, advising him to forfeit, who ignores him because he untied his belt in the lavatory and can't remember how to tie it. Saitama faces Bakuzan, a brutal martial artist the refugee is concerned about; he already prepared a medic with a stretcher. Bakuzan rants about the weaklings in Super Fight and warns Saitama to prioritize defense if he wants to leave in one piece. Saitama ignores him as he tries in vain to tie his belt properly, provoking Bakuzan.
  • 64th Punch, Limit: Saitama and Bakuzan's match begins, and Bakuzan notices he isn't moving. He approaches Saitama and questions what he's doing, who admits it's his first time at Super Fight. Bakuzan starts listing how he'll destroy Saitama's legs, arms, and guts, but when he touches his head, Saitama panics and punches him out of the ring. The staff and audience are stunned as Suiryu gets impressed and states he will win his next fight in one blow too. Tareo sees reports on how Lightning Genji, Heavy Kong, and Metal Bat lost their fights and is shocked. Two staff members find Pineapple and Mohican and learn from them that monsters kidnapped Waganma. HQ receives this news knowing that Narinki covers 7% of their expenses, meaning they must immediately rescue his son to keep his trust. However, they agonize over how they don't have enough heroes for every problem. Genos and Awakened Cockroach continue their battle; Genos starts losing ground due to his slower speed, losing his upper body clothes. He analyzes the monster's fighting style and decides to deploy a secret weapon. Awakened Cockroach starts taunting Genos as he primes his secret weapon; the monster starts guessing what it is, laughing at the idea of pesticide. Awakened Cockroach feigns a retreat, saying that other monsters can handle Genos before dashing behind him to attack. However, he gets stuck in a super-adhesive Genos deployed, meant to counter Sonic; he dislikes using it, as doing so admits he's not as fast. Genos launches a fire blast at Awakened Cockroach, who escapes by breaking off his feet. Nevertheless, he believes the monster's injuries to be fatal, turning to head back to Super Fight when he detects a different high-speed assailant. Do-S has managed to control the Blizzard group and sends them at Fubuki, who starts losing because she can't defend against two attackers at once. Saitama's voice from their first meeting starts replaying in her head, enraging her enough to make her release a psychic wave, immobilizing the Bizzard Group. With her power split, Do-S breaks Fubuki's psychic barriers with her whip, landing a lash across her back.
  • 65th Punch, Sisters: Do-S lands several lashes on Fubuki, shredding the back of her dress. Thinking she mind-controlled Fubuki, she orders the Blizard Group to stop attacking and decides to use her to draw out her "little" sister Tatsumaki. However, Fubuki's psychic powers and natural willpower let her resist mind control, giving her a window to blow Do-S back with a psychic blast. Before Do-S can finish talking, Fubuki unleashes her Hellstorm on her. An explosion shakes the ground as Fubui smirks at how her sister sensed her pain. A dying monster falls in front of Do-S and tells her about how a powerful hero destroyed many monsters in one place. Fubuki and Do-S see Tatsumaki fly onto the scene; the former informs the latter that the S-Class is her older sister. Tatsumaki orders Fubuki to go home; she protests that she hasn't lost yet. Do-S sends the mind-controlled Blizzard Group at Tatsumaki as she escapes. Tatsumaki tosses them into a building despite Fubuki's protests, claiming she only immobilized them. She chastizes Fubuki for fighting and letting her group fight stuff out of their league, claiming she would have handled it better. With other monsters to fight, Tatsumaki wants them to run and not interfere as she flies away.

  • 66th Punch, The Strong: Sneck remembers when he beat the Tiger-level Fighting Bull Toad and thought it was the best day in his life. However, he soon found he was inferior to Deep Sea King, the S-Class, and even nobodies like Saitama. In his match with Suiryu, Sneck relentlessly attacks but fails to land one blow, making him consider if the world needs heroes. After a brief exchange, Suiryu tells Sneck he was testing his power. He asks why the formidable A-Class gets paid well but only moves under command, which he hates and only wants money. Sneck brings up Suiryu's power and shallow lifestyle. Suiryu says he only ever fought his master and dated girls while training, never thinking. As Sneck becomes more provoked, Suiryu asks why he's a hero despite being weak, stunning him. Suiryu claims that with the recent monster raids, the strong will live, and the weak will die regardless of if heroes help or not. He denies wanting to give civilians to monsters, saying that they prefer different times to fight monsters is good. However, Suiryu claims Sneck will never find self-satisfaction through his job. Sweet Mask is having a concert when a threat breaks onto the stage; another monster simultaneously breaks into the hospital as the wounded heroes evacuate patients. The Dragon-level Nyan assaults Puri-Puri Prisoner's prison after he's left to fight monsters. Suiryu says the "strong guys" like Saitama, Garou, Tatsumaki, and himself would survive without heroes before knocking Sneck out with one kick. The crowd begins cheering, which Saitama hears on the toilet. Deep underground, Gyoro Gyoro tells Monster King Orochi they have the advantage despite casualties, which has made the Hero Association panic. He also tells him how the Dragon-level Goketsu wrecked Genos on his way to Super Fight. Genos and Metal Bat are incapacitated, and we see medical personnel remove the latter and his sister. They have captured Metal Knight's robot that latched onto Elder Centipede. With the Hero Association weakened and Orochi leading the monster forces, Gyoro Gyoro believes they've guaranteed their victory.
  • 67th Punch, Outside the Norm: At the Super Fight, Gatlin's attack barrage fails against Volten, who beats him with shocks and takes minimal damage. Choze effortlessly trashes Dave in their round. Sour Face faces Saitama, saying a "supernatural phenomenon" let him win against Bakuzan, which won't happen again. He boasts that he will hammer martial arts into his body but gets destroyed in one punch, landing right next to where Bakuzan was. Saitama, Choze, Volten, and Suiryu progress to the semi-finals. Genos wakes in a crater, unable to move, and calls for Dr. Kuseno's recovery drones as he considers the power of Goketsu and similar monsters. Four monsters wreak havoc with explosions in glee when Drive Knight arrives as a centaur and beheads a Tiger-level monster, who was his 7th today. He explains he needs to collect data on these monsters as he transforms into a humanoid and collects the extra parts into his suitcase. Drive Knight is about to ask the panicking monsters; the hero remembers one can answer a question, activating his "Silver" form. His case disassembles and builds a giant sword into his right arm, with which he kills two more monsters and threatens the fourth. Drive Knight tells the monster that now that it's seen his powers, it can either choose how he'll torture it to death or give up information. Child Emperor sends Underdog Man No. 22 to confront Eyesight, who has captured three heroes. She admits to incapacitating heroes with poison and having them die a few days later in the Monster Association's lair. The robot calls itself the hero "Dogman" but gets outmatched against her. It doesn't take poison damage, making her realize it's a robot and not a hero. Child Emperor hides behind a car with poison samples at hand and calculates a cure on his computer. He self-destructs Underdog Man No. 22 after latching it onto Eyesight, bidding it farewell, and sending the formula to HQ. Eyesight survives the explosion and tosses away the car shielding Child Emperor, who realizes she tracked his heat signature as a snake. He knows he only stands a chance against her head-on with his gadget backpack, which lies barely out of reach. Eyesight suddenly detects one large human approaching when Pig God bursts through a wall, telling Child Emperor that doing so was the shortest route. Eyesight bites the giant hero multiple times, making Child Emperor panic when he sees Pig God eating her. Child Emperor warns Pig God about the poison, who shrugs it off because his fat reserves protect him. He leaves to chase other monsters nearby, waving off a miscommunication about if he felt good. As Underdog Man No. 22 lies in pieces, Watchdog Man sits atop a pile of 30 invading monsters he slaughtered, with a giant crowd praising him. Garou watches, contemplating how monsters interrupted him from confronting Watchdog Man. The hero butchered the invaders so effortlessly while keeping a poker face that Garou started doubting who the real monster was. However, Garou believes Watchdog Man lacks technique, meaning he could beat him after analyzing his moves. He declares that it's his turn to hunt Watchdog Man, leaping at the hero with his blood boiling.
  • 68th Punch, Great Battle Power: Hundred-Eyes Octopus continues wreaking havoc, smashing buildings, throwing trains, and attacking heroes. Bone manages to scoop Red Ruffler through a flying train, and they carry many downed B-Class heroes to safety. They watch the monster from an overpass, discussing how it grows from devouring stuff, and its eyes make it impossible to land a hit. Bones thinks it might be the worst in history and tells Red Muffler that he'll handle it alone. He boasts about how he draws power from milk, which hardens his bones, and drinks a bunch from a nearby milk truck. As he casts the bottles aside and prepares to fight with 4x bone density, Hundred-Eyes Octopus smashes him and causes full-body fractures with one tentacle strike. Death Gatling emerges from the rubble, saying he was too hasty with the toughness of his bones. He explains he's requested A-Class reinforcements, telling them to aim for the eyes, given how it moves like a mollusk. Butterfly DX, Smile Man, Narcisstoic, Peach Terry, and Chain'n'Toad show up for Death Gatling's counterattack. Red Ruffler hesitates when Flashy Flash arrives, telling them their half-baked power will only enrage Hundred-Eyes Octopus. Provoked, Death Gatling asks him what he plans to do, who tells them to shut up and watch. He agrees that the eyes are the weak spots but ignores Smile Man's suggestion to coordinate. Flashy Flash dashes ahead in a shockwave, shocking the other heroes. He zigzags across Hundred-Eyes Octopus, stabbing out all but the center eye before leaping into the air to impale it with force. Blood rains down as Flashy Flash dashed back, shocking Red Ruffles. The heroes worry that the attack further enraged the monster but realize the pain has made it fall upside down. They retreat while scolding Flashy Flash as Death Gatling shoots at the monster's suction cups, making it bleed in its wounds. Flashy Flash prepares his finishing move when Tatsumaki intervenes and lifts Hundred-Eyes Octopus, its suction cups ripping out the pavement. She crushes it into a ball, squeezing out a torrent of blood that deflects off her psychic shield onto the heroes below. Tatsumaki drops the meatball corpse, narrowly missing some heroes. She chastises the A-Class heroes for fighting something they can't beat, who hesitate to reply. Tatsumaki turns to Flashy Flash, scolding him for not killing the monster fast enough. Flashy Flash starts shouting at her, making Smile Man panic and scream over him as Butterfly DX warns him not to provoke her and catch them in it. Tatsumaki and Flashy Flash leave disgruntled as Death Gatling admits that the A-Class loses relevance against monsters like these they can't eliminate. Gyoro Gyoro's drone sees the destruction, knowing that Demon-level monsters fall against multiple S-Class heroes and wanting to deal with Tatsumaki himself. Orochi is unfazed, claiming they can always make more monsters as Metal Knight's captured drone looks on.
  • 69th Punch, Monster Cells: In G-City's mountains, Atomic Samurai visits the Council of Swordmasters' dojo. His disciples discuss their chances against Garou outside with Iaian missing an arm and them gathering a team. Atomic Samurai tells the council about disciple Spring Mustachio's loss against Garou being the final straw. Nichirin compares heroes who only hunt monsters to huntsmen and asks about ones stronger than them. Atomic Samurai says he'll bring them later, one of them being Bang. He tells them Bang left after expelling Charanko and closing his dojo to chase Garou. Nichirin thinks Bang's too ashamed of Garou's actions. Amahare thinks tying up loose ends means he's prepared to die. Zanbai believes Bang wants to take responsibility and die with Garou. Atomic Samurai knows Bang would only take such measures if he might lose. He denies doubting Bang's skill but thinks he might be soft, a risk he considers too high, wanting to kill Garou with the council first. The masters agree, and he promises to repay them. Haragiri calls it boring and says Atomic Samurai's real name of Kamikaze before mockingly using his hero name. Atomic Samurai thinks he's drunk, who mocks his soft speech. He says that Bang's only "disqualified" if Garou kills him, claiming the council only exists to hone swordsmanship. The other masters try to leave, thinking Haragiri's tired. He halts them and brings out three throbbing monster cells Orochi gave him, explaining how people who eat them gain power, confusing everyone. He says you become a monster, taking a stance. Everyone else thinks he's crazy, so he explains how the Monster Association convinced him to join them. Nichirin thinks Haragiri's drunk but warns him to put down his sword before he believes him. Haragiri tells Atomic Samurai that he ate a Monster Cell, changing into a monster before them and claiming he could take them all at once. He demands that they also become monsters, which Atomic Samurai pities him on. Haragiri claims he can draw his sword supersonically and behead them in an instant. After a stare-off, he starts counting, demanding they eat the monster cells. Atomic Samurai tells him that not everyone's as stupid as him and cuts Haragiri first mid-stroke, disintegrating him and his sword. His disciples hear it as he emerges from the dojo, and Iaian smells of blood. Atomic Samurai tells them that Garou is only one problem as they leave to crush the Monster Association. Chained up and suspended, Metal Knight's robot asks Orochi about goals. Surprised it still works, Gyoro Gyoro tells him that although monsters have violence as a basic instinct, their goal is much higher. Metal Knight observes Gyoro Gyoro from home as the monster declares the fragility of humans and the weakness of their hearts. Saitama notes how his cheap wig is garbage in the bathroom with how it itches. Sour Face bursts in, so he hastily puts it on; he sees Saitama holding his head and correctly assumes he's nervous. He tells Saitama how Suiryu beat Volten with one kick, warning him that Choze's brutality surpasses Bakuzan. Sour Face warns him once more as Saitama notes his dynamic growth. In their match, Choze chastizes Saitama and Suiryu for one-shotting everyone in their way when he would execute them slowly. He explains how his clan breeds their best members to bolster their genes, birthing him as their champion to rule the world. Unimpressed, Saitama compares his clan's ways to selectively pollinating corn. He tells Choze that corn is just food regardless of taste. Choze tells him that his previous two matches ended fast because the refugee interfered. He vows to learn, saying he'll watch Saitama's tears and screams. Saitama one-shots him in 2 seconds, beating Suiryu's 3-seconds with Volten." The announcer anticipates a bigger spectacle than Saitama vs. Bakuzan with the mysterious "Charanko" as Suiryu prepares. Suiryu enters the ring, making Saitama worry that he noticed his wig.
  • 70th Punch, Being Strong Is Fun: The announcer introduces Suiryu and Saitama. Suiryu feigns a kick at Saitama and almost blows his wig off, forcing him to grab it. Suiryu repeats his feint as Saitama holds on before telling Saitama he knows he can see, asking if he's nervous and continuing fake-outs. Suiryu chastizes the announcer for overplaying his warmup and asks why Saitama didn't dodge, relieving him of his ignorance. Suiryu asks Saitama to take the fight seriously with his power, who affirms that he only entered for fun, making him more curious. Suiryu mentions that he only wants money, which Saitama also wants. Suiryu tells him that he wants fun against a powerful opponent and doesn't often meet people like Saitama. He explains his ideology that more powerful humans will live more freely but crave excitement, asking if Saitama shares his sentiment. Saitama sees Suiryu's upbeat tone and explains that he wants to feel martial arts, which hasn't happened due to one-shotting everyone. The martial artists can't hear him, mistaking his words for a platonic speech. Seeing his offbeat aura, Saitama asks Suiryu if he'll be different. Suiryu chuckles and says he understands, saying he'll let him feel martial arts in exchange for helping push his limits for fun. Saitama accepts, telling Suiryu to show him scary martial arts. Suiryu charges in with a left kick Saitama blocks, nearly sending them out of the ring as the clash starts. Suiryu sends Saitama flying with a high kick and catches up to Saitama midair, kicking him down. Sour Face watches in shock as Saitama's landing makes a hole in the ring; the hero is only relieved that he managed to hold onto his wig. Suiryu comes down and smashes his face down with his knee. Everyone is horrified, thinking Suiryu shattered Saitama's skull. Suiryu lands and asks if the match is over despite holding back only to see Saitama walks out of the hole, startled because he thought his wig would fly off. Suiryu sees how his attack only delt some superficial damage and goes in for more. Sour Face is amazed at how well "Charanko" keeps up when the others tell him that Suiryu's only been kicking to play, realizing he's hiding power. Sneck almost recognizes Saitama but dismisses it. Suiryu notes how Saitama specializes in punching, having one-hit everyone except when he one-slapped the sneezing Zakos. Thus, Suiryu only uses kicks to make it more exciting. He challenges Saitama to punch him, who retreats in fear of losing his wig. Saitama sweats in relief as Suiryu assumes that he saw he would counter his punch with a kick. The dance continues as Suryiu notes Saitama's decent combat skills and mistakenly praises defending his head. Saitama slips that he fights monsters, making Suiryu assume "Charanko" is a hero. Saitama lies and says he merely aims to become one. Suiryu instantly becomes prejudiced, claiming heroes are garbage; the A-Classes he fought were pathetic by his standards. From his perspective, "Hero" is just a name, and real heroes don't exist. The Tank Topper Army fights monsters in the hospital as Gyoffrey faces Mumen Rider, gloating that he can take Garou's credit for these kills. With the intensive care unit behind him, Mumen Rider refuses to retreat. Amused, Gyoffrey tries to stomp Mumen Rider, who grabs his left leg. Tanktop Master charges and sends Gyoffrey flying to his death out of the hospital. Mumen Rider praises him, who tells him not to be reckless without a tanktop and helps him up. Suiryu claims that despite working, heroes pretend to be just benefactors. He believes that people on their level can't save the world. He thinks their useless efforts and platonic ethical code obstruct his fun life as impure boredom. Suiryu tells Saitama that someone as powerful as him shouldn't restrict himself, living freely on prize money. He sees Saitama's face, asking if he's down. Suiryu says he only states his thoughts because he recognizes Saitama, telling him to take it as happy advice. Saitama doesn't block Suiryu's next kick, losing his wig and shocking everyone. He tells Suiryu that impurities are irrelevant as we see some more superficial damage. Saitama says he also does what he wants and returns his advice, telling him to stop gaining power if he wants fun. He throws his Death Punch but stops short, shredding Suiryu's shirt before scolding himself for almost ending the fight early again.
  • 71st Punch, Martial Arts Means…!!: The audience sees Saitama stop short this time but thinks Suiryu ripped his clothes himself by flexing muscles, wondering if he's finally unleashing his power. The announcer gushes about Suriyu's physique before turning to how "Charanko" wore a wig. Referees converse and disqualify Saitama due to him not notifying Super Fight about his wig, now disallowed due to Wolfman Garou's rampage last time. As they promise to investigate later, Saitama decides to run as the martial artists debate his identity, Sour Face being particularly distraught due to "Charanko's problem." The announcer annuls the anticlimactic match and declares Suiryu the winner, sending the crowd into an uproar. A staff member orders the announcer to make the contestants line up for the trophy and money while making the audience stay due to more monster alarms. Suiryu mocks the "finished" match, tearing off his tattered shirt and preparing to fight for real. He dashes in and punches Saitama's head before chopping the ground, angrily saying he hasn't seen anything yet. His chop splits the ring in half before Suiryu raises one side and Saitama with a stomp, further shocking everyone. The close combat continues with Suiryu's determination as the ground settles and he lands a chop on Saitama's head. Saitama asks him why his fun is so violent, to which Suiryu replies that there's no fun in losing. Referees order panicking staff to halt the fight as the crowd cheers for Suiryu. Saitama sees staff charge onto the ring to end the brawl, further motivating Suiryu as a staff member tries to quell the announcer. His passion starts spiraling out of control as Suiryu angrily tells Saitama to look closely at his martial arts. Suiryu activates his tornado combo, refusing to stop as he deals non-consecutive attacks while spinning fast enough to make an air vortex. Everyone is shocked at Suiryu's inhuman momentum keeping him aloft. Suityu sees Saitama's poker face, becoming frustrated at how his attacks seem to deal no real damage. He stomps the ground, shattering one half of the ring and demonstrating his killing intent. Suiryu strikes Saitama in his abdomen with his strongest haymaker, snapping his right-side armband but only sending Saitama back several meters. Suiryu contemplates how his final attack, enough to pulverize a truck, still failed to faze Saitama, who says he is starting to understand martial arts. Suiryu eagerly asks him what he's learned, to which Saitama says that martial arts are moves meant to make you look cool when you fight. His shallowness makes Suiryu queasy as he sees Saitama try to mimic his technique by practicing how to beat monsters by spinning in the air to look cool. Enraged, Suriyu charges and warns him not to make fun of him. Saitama accidentally hip-checks him out of the ring, the shockwave pulverizing the side Suiryu didn't shatter earlier. Despite the move, the announcer says the verdict remains because "Charanko" already got disqualified. Suiryu grabbed Saitama's belt when he got blown away, exposing Saitama's torso and making his pants fall to reveal his heart boxer shorts. Sour Face tells "Charanko" to cover himself while Sneck finally recognizes Saitama, surprising Max. With Suriyu's rampage stopped and Saitama redressed, security tries to apprehend Saitama, who flees through the locker rooms. Shocked at his loss, Suiryu feels down as he receives his trophy and money. The announcer praises his flawless victory, discounting Saitama's accident. Bakuzan scoffs as Suiryu contemplates what Saitama's Death Punch would have done to him if he let it hit. An announcement tells the audience that their cheering drowned out the monster alarm, which fails to concern people due to Suiryu's presence. Suiryu tries to ignore Saitama's actions and tries to approach a pretty ring girl when someone reports injured staff. The Demon-level Three Crows fly in carrying Bazuzu, Dave, and Rosie, all having left earlier. Max tells Lin Lin that heroes will handle the situation. Benpatsu tries to run when the Dragon-level Goketsu enters the stadium and grabs him, rounding up every martial artist. He tells them that they will all become monsters.
  • 72nd Punch, Monsterization: Goketsu climbs onto the ring, awing everyone as he mocks the martial artists, telling them that they would only have value as monsters. Sneck and Max stand up to fight him as the audience flees, only for Oketsu to send them flying with one hit, further depressing everyone except Suiryu. Goketsu introduces himself, making the announcer recognize him as the first Super Fight champion, long thought dead when he lost to a monster after winning. Goketsu explains how Orochi defeated and captured him for the Monster Association. He accepted their offer to eat a monster cell and join them, gaining immense power. He gives the martial artists monster cells, threatening to kill them unless they eat them and join him as monsters. Rosie goes first, hastily gobbling up a monster cell and transforming before hurling Dave away out of spite. Choze snaps Rosie's neck and eats one himself, becoming a much stronger monster due to his potential, noting how it also raised his experience. He sends Jempatsu flying in one hit to test his power, gloating about how he'll finally have revenge on Saitama. Goketsu explains how innate potential boosts monsterization, which requires consent to work. Benpatsu hastily eats a cell, if only to survive. Hamukichi also eats one, wanting to escape his life as an underpaid martial arts instructor. Volten consumes a monster cell, wanting to close his power gap with Suiryu. The three martial artists transform into terrifying monsters, Volten gaining a massive boost to his electric powers to Goketsu's praise. As everyone stands terrified, Suiryu asks one of the ring girls if she will go on a date if he beats the monsters, and she accepts. He makes the announcer escort the girl away, assuring everyone that he'll be fine. Enraged, Gokestu orders the slaughter of everyone who resists. Benpatsu mocks Suiryu for trying, only for Suiryu to incapacitate him with one kick to his head. Hamukichi tries to attack from behind when Suiryu faints him with an elbow strike to his head, mocking them for interfering with his simple life. Volten attacks, boating about his improved electricity. Suiryu dodges his kick and grabs Benpatsu by his braid, slamming him down on Volten to faint both of them. He clashes with Choze, who has become powerful enough to compete with him after monsterization. Choze summons an energy sphere between his red horns of the same type Vaccine Man used, explaining that he's abandoned his clan's desire to rule the world. He now wants to slaughter everyone in sight before building a new world by his standards, firing the monstrous energy sphere at everyone. Undeterred, Suiryu catches the energy sphere to protect everyone, retorting that the power was nothing for him. He kicks the energy sphere into the sky, where it explodes and disperses some clouds. Before Bakusan can react, Suiryu charges and breaks off both of his horns before sending him back. They both taunt each other and clash in a light show once more before Suiryu proves superior and punches a hole in Choze's torso, killing him. Everyone praises Suiryu, who notes how the fight made him bleed and contemplates Goketsu's power. Goketsu still sees Suiryu as having the potential of a monster cadre, saying that they will build a world where the strong kill to their heart's desire. Suiryu picks up a monster cell and seemingly contemplates eating it before throwing it in Goketsu's face and mocking his ugliness. He unleashes his tornado maneuver on Goketsu, who pounds him into the ground in one hit, telling him to die.
  • 73rd Punch, Resistance of the Strong: Goketsu tries to stomp on Suiryu when the martial artist leaps up to his face, unleashing a punch barrage before dashing to the ground. Suiryu knows he can't take another hit and contemplates what to do as the Three Crows incapacitate everyone else. Goku punched him back and dashes behind him to stomp on him. Suiryu lifts his foot and unleashes his most powerful punch at Goketsu's face, who effortlessly catches him and starts flicking him with his fingers. Goketsu throws him to the ground, mocking him before trying to throw Suiryu to the Three Crows, whom he explains were his disciples who lost their minds after monsterization. Seeing no way to escape the four monsters, Suiryu sees that Bakusan hasn't fled and asks for his help. Bakuzan says he envies the young Suiryu, who still has room to grow, knowing that he'll never surpass such a prodigy through training alone. Seeing how even Suiryu cannot defeat some monsters, Bakusan ignores his pleas and consumes every monster cell to become a powerful monster. Before he and Goketsu can discuss further, Bakusan faints from the stress of over-monetization, seemingly failing to transform. Believing Bakuzan died from stress, Goketsu notes how everyone has cleared the stadium and says he wants to hear Suiryu scream. Just as Suiryu loses hope, Snakebite Sneck and Lightning Max return with their hero gear and knock back the Three Crows. They explain that they've come to help, now sporting Sneck's super-tough snakeskin suit he made from a monster pelt and Max's lightning shoes. They tell Suiryu that they'll each take one crow just as the Three Crows charge, clashing with the three fighters head-on. Now fighting on their terms, Sneck, Suiryu, and Max each one-kit kill one crow with one charged strike. Suiryu begins to flee but is confused when Max and Sneck take a stance against Goketsu, telling him that heroes must fight no matter what. They try to make him run while they delay Goketsu, which Suiryu knows is suicide because they're even weaker than himself. Nevertheless, he decides to flee alone as Goketsu destroys the duo and tries to leap out of the stadium when Bakuzan hits him back down, having survived and become a powerful monster. Goketsu is surprised that Bakusan survived, who threatens Goketsu to leave Suiryu to him. Goketsu is frustrated at this disrespect but notes how Bakusan is Dragon-level, enough to surpass most S-Class heroes. Bakuzan mocks Suiryu's inferiority before laying into him with a brutal beatdown.
  • 74th Punch, Depths of Despair: Gyoro Gyoro's drone observes the devastation and tells Orochi that their terror campaign has been successful. King's gaming system blows a fuse just before he could beat the hidden boss, frustrating him as he hears sirens. Gyoro Gyoro praises Phoenix Man for procuring Waganma in chains as a hostage but denies his request for reinforcements. Although some monsters fell to heroes, the front line is merely cannon fodder to the cadres, who think the strong should sustain themselves. Gyoro Gyoro tells Orochi about how Nyan monsterized Smelly Lid Prison's inmates and Goketsu handling martial artists when his drone sees the latter still in the stadium. He orders Goketsu to return to base, as even he will have a hard time if S-Class heroes swarm the stadium. Goketsu snarkily accepts as he doesn't need to stay any longer. He asks for Bakuzan's name and tries to take him to the Monster Association, but the monster lambasts him out of pride. Agitated, Goketsu tells Bakusan that he'll only get to savor his power today. To him, there's always someone more powerful, and this attitude towards Orochi will get him killed. Gouketsu knows Orochi to be the strongest monster on Earth and tells Bakusan that many monsters, like himself, are more powerful than him. Enraged, Bakusan attempts to attack; Goketsu deflects everything and sends him flying twice with only one arm. He warns Bakusan that though the monster raid is overwhelming heroes, they cooperate because humans will hunt down lone monsters no matter how powerful they are. Monsters have begun returning to their hideout, meaning heroes have now coordinated. Even someone as strong as Bakusan can't withstand every hero's combined might. Goketsu leaves, warning Bakuzan not to play with Suiryu for too long and telling him that monsters meet in Z-City's ghost town. Bakuzan talks to a bloody Suiryu about the Monster Association, noting how Goketsu shattered his confidence, knowing that even stronger monsters exist. As Bakusan declares that he's giving up on becoming the most powerful, Suiryu tries to talk his way out of the fight. Bakuzan remarks that monsterization has made him realize that he likes bullying weaker people, lifting a pleading Suiryu by his hair. Suiryu cust his hair to escape, but Bakuzan breaks his legs and orders him to lick his toe while he screams in agony. Suiryu cuts his hair to escape and starts walking away, amusing Bakuzan, who breaks his legs with a kick. Suiryu screams in pain for the first time, making Bakuzan regret lacking an audience. Suiryu's fear paralyzes him as Bakuzan continues to mock how far he's fallen, preparing to kill him. Suiryu starts begging for his life, making Bakuzan call him pathetic and ordering him to lick his right foot. Suiryu breaks Bakuzan's pinky toe as he screams for a hero's help. Intercut with his screams, we see Mumen Rider, Flashy Flash, Smile Man, Pig God, Tatsumaki, Child Emperor, Tanktop Master, Stinger, Puri-Puri Prisoner, Drive Knight, Fubuki, Death Gatling, and Red Muffler fight monsters. Bakuzan tells him that no help is coming with the chaos Goketsu told them about, proclaiming that Suiryu will die here. In despair at his imminent demise and the heroes' seeming powerlessness, Suiryu reaches for the unconscious Lightning Max and Snakebite Sneck, begging them to stand one last time. He finally understands that heroes always seek the light in the dark, no matter how faint as long as it still exists, regretting looking down on heroes earlier. Bakuzan moves to stomp on Sneck's body to further Suiryu's despair but lifts his foot to find that Saitama has returned in his hero outfit and moved Sneck aside. He explains that he noticed the staff stop chasing him, motivating him to return after hearing Suiryu. As Suiryu and Bakuzan try to remember him, Saitama calls himself a hero, saying he heard Suiryu's call for help. He compliments Suiryu, saying that he'll take it from here.
  • 75th Punch, Foul Play: As Suiryu tears up, Bakuzan mocks Saitama's heroic spirit, thinking that he's just a nobody who wants fame. Bakuzan calls him a small fry as Suiryu notices Saitama's head, and they both recognize him at once. Bakuzan now desires to punish Saitama for defeating him, who fails to recognize him. He takes Bakzan's kick, sliding over to the unconscious martial artists and trying to examine them. Bakuzan continues gloating as he kicks Saitama again, worrying Suiryu, who tries to tell him to protect himself. Saitama tanks another punch as Bakuzan proclaims that he'll make Saitama scream and plead for mercy before killing him. Enraged at his apathy, Bakuzan readies a chop to crush Saitama and the martial artists. Saitama fails to remember Bakuzan's name and meets his chop with a punch, kicking up a dust cloud and destroying Bakuzan's head and torso, killing him. Saitama comforts Suiryu, who thanks him and finds out his real name and job as a professional hero. Suiryu thinks "Charanko" was his alias, worrying Saitama, who fervently denies being on a secret mission from the Hero Association. He insists that he only wanted to experience martial arts due to the trouble Garou caused with heroes. Suiryu thinks it was a preparatory measure, but Saitama says he just got a ticket by chance and had nothing better to do. Suiryu thanks him and notes how his timing was perfect and not too early, confusing Saitama. Suiryu explains Goketsu's power, thinking that even Saitama couldn't have beaten him as he laments his inferiority. Dr. Kuseno's recovery drone retrieves a battered Genos, who wants to get repaired right away to subdue Goketsu. With Gouketsu's power, Genos thinks that only a combined assault from the entire S-Class and Saitama would work. Suiryu informs Saitama about the monster raid and newfound monsterization techniques, wanting Saitama to stay until the situation calms down and ambulances come out. He tells Saitama that challenging Goketsu would require a large team, who tries to head out, horrifying Suiryu. Suiryu starts shouting at Saitama that the danger is too severe, warning him that Goketsu is too strong and skilled for him to fight. His rant only excites Saitama further, who wants to use Goketsu to experience martial arts. Saitama's attitude further horrifies Suiryu, who grabs his ankle to stop him from throwing his life away. Saitama promptly ignores his efforts and tugs himself free before striding out of the stadium. Horrified, Suiryu thinks he just watched a true hero throw his life away when so many more people would need Saitama in the future. Moments later, Saitama one-shots Gouketsu with a giant boom. The monster's decapitated head falls in front of Suiryu as Saitama returns. He asks Suiryu to keep his deceit under wraps, not knowing Goketsu's power due to only using one hit again. With his injuries, Suiryu thinks he'll have to retire and asks Saitama if he can become a hero. Saitama fails to answer and tells Suiryu that monsters bullied him this harshly before he attained his power too. Suiryu asks him if he can become his disciple, which Saitama pointedly refuses with a suppressed chuckle.
  • 76th Punch, Bored As Usual: Puri-Puri Prisoner faces the Demon-level Free Hugger, whom he can't fight well. Because he fights bare-handed, the monster's spikes' recoil leaves him covered in cuts. People on a nearby roof suggest using the iron ball chained to his leg, which Puri-Puri Prisoner can't hear. He thanks the people for cheering, who feel uncomfortable at his nakedness. Vowing not to waste the love they delivered in the face of danger, Puri-Puri Prisoner has the idea to "accept all of the pain with deep, overflowing love." He crushes Free Hugger with his Angel ☆ Hug, killing the monster and scaring everyone off with a fart. While bleeding profusely, he receives a call informing him that Nyan kidnapped his cellmates. Sometime later, Saitama passes Free Hugger's corpse looking for more monsters to fight. He finds the wounded C-Class hero Water Gun. The hero informs him that he lost against a creature that left 30 minutes ago when HQ ignored his distress call, making Saitama sad that he missed everything. Saitama wonders how he calls himself a hero when he was one of the few heroes who didn't help, not knowing about the monster raid. He then hastily corrects himself, as he doesn't kill monsters for public praise; Saitama only does it because he wants to. However, his sentiment merely shifts to whether he's satisfied with himself, as his hobby-turned-profession remains boring. Garou interested him, which motivated him to enter Super Fight. However, between Suiryu, the contestants, and Goketsu, he didn't feel anything special.
  • 77th Punch, Stagnation and Growth: King pulls up on a bicycle next to Saitama while wearing a mask, as he was out to buy a manga following when the stores closed. King mistakes Saitama's apathy for concern about his baldness, enraging Saitama because he said nothing about hair. Saitama explains that he's too strong to feel emotions in a fight and consequently can't learn from fighting, meaning he doesn't think he can get stronger. He then argues with King about soaring to new heights, who believes that stronger heroes are always better. Saitama compares his situation to King maxing out a character in his video games, making King mention stuff like speedrunning and multiplayer. Agitated, Saitama tells King about his emotional numbness separating him from the citizenry, as he never imagined how lonely heroism could be. King tells him about a social dance class at the Z-City bus stop, suggesting that Saitama try making friends outside heroism. Saitama says he's both not interested and occupied with the recent monster outbreak, refusing King's suggestion to travel. King tells Saitama about his previous phase of lacking stimulus but not acting on that, saying that everyone must forge a unique path in life. He continues by saying that heroes shouldn't find fulfillment through fighting but by helping others. Saitama may be the most powerful hero, but he is still not the best hero by any means. King suggests that further growth for Saitama would come from correcting his ideals, saying that claiming to peak in power is insanely arrogant of him. He continues to quote his manga, saying that if Saitama plans to continue heroism, he must discover what it means to be the greatest hero. As Saitama contemplates his words, King tries to make him come over and play fighting games. After a subtle back-and-forth about apathy and tasting defeat, King finally convinces Saitama by saying he'll only use two fingers. Garou, injured by his loss to Watchdog Man, notes how the hero only stopped chasing him after leaving Q-City's outskirts. Besides being more potent, faster, and more durable than him, Watchdog Man's dog-like style nullified Garou's human-oriented martial arts. As Bang never taught him anti-animal techniques, Garou notes that he still has room for growth. Before Garou can indulge in his fun, he notices King and Saitama, deciding to hunt King despite his wounds out of excitement and chance. As he charges at King, trying to predict his next move, Saitama quickly kicks him through a brick wall. Neither of them recognized Garou, making them think he was a random thug. After discussing the monster raid, Saitama mentions Garou's "Human Monster" status while hunting heroes, wanting to face him head-on. Unaware that he just defeated him, Saitama believes that Garou might be even more powerful than him.

They reveal they have become monsters and invite him to the Monster Association with a Monster Cell. Sonic seriously considers becoming a monster to surpass Saitama. In W-City, S-Class Zombieman observes Marshall Gorilla, witnessing the monster be defeated by a reformed Armored Gorilla. Meanwhile, Sonic cooks and eats the Monster Cell; however, cooking it made it so that he only winds up with diarrhea.
  • 79th Punch, Infinite Combo: A staff member bursts into a Hero Association meeting room, controlled by the parasite Destrochloridium. He delivers a message from Gyoro Gyoro and kills one of the executives, challenging the Hero Association to face the Monster Association. S-Class Superalloy Darkshine steps in and crushes him in one hit. Meanwhile, the Monster Association discusses their plans. Awakened Cockroach's failure against Genos did not go unnoticed, and Orochi eats him for it. He then moves to eat Do-S as well, but Gyoro Gyoro convinces him otherwise. Garou wakes up after having been knocked out by Saitama's kick. He sees Death Gatling and considers hunting him, but decides to get some rest first. Gyoro Gyoro finally discovers Gouketsu's decapitated body, realizing the war with the heroes may be tougher than he thought.
  • 80th Punch, Surrounded: The Monster Association leaks to the media that they have a hostage: Waganma. The public panics at the Monster Association's existence. Metal Knight informs Child Emperor that Orochi was able to defeat his robot before he could even think, so he refuses to help the Hero Association in any rescue plans. Monsters begin heading to Z-City, inspired by the Monster Association and looking to join, but Saitama kills them all while taking out the garbage. Tareo, the boy with the Hero Guide, is with his friends by a shack they use as a hideout. Since someone else is inside, the kids force Tareo to check it out for them and much to his surprise, he finds Garou recovering from a fever. Outside, Death Gatling and a team of A and B-Class heroes suddenly arrive and tell the kids to evacuate. Garou notices this and tells Tareo to stay inside while he goes out to meet the heroes.
  • 81st Punch, Willpower: Garou asks Tareo for the hero catalog to identify each one of the heroes outside his shack. After doing so, Garou briefly taunts them before the fight begins. Every hero instantly goes on the attack, but Garou manages to dodge two waves of attacks. Chain Toad and Stinger charge again and cut Garou's arm as he notices Glasses not fighting. The heroes proceed to continuously barrage Garou before he has any time to recover. Two of the arrows from Shooter hit Garou in the back, after which Garou goes after Glasses, who is playing support. Glasses manages to dodge Garou's initial attack and lands a hit on Garou as Death Gatling gives Garou one last chance to surrender.
  • 82nd Punch, To The Limit: Inspired by a childhood flashback, Garou knocks out Chain'n'Toad by redirecting Smile Man's kendama ball, claiming the unconscious hero's chain sickle and severing Smile Man's kendama string. He deflects one shot from Gun-Gun and hides behind the ball, bouncing it at him and knocking him out. The ball ricochets at Wild Horn, who destroys it just as Garou leaps at him through the debris, chains up his legs, and uses him to block Shooter's arrow rain. Glasses throws four rocks at Garou, but he snatches them out of the air and throws them at Shooter, knocking him down. After feinting at Stinger while holding Wild Horn, Garou downs Smile Man with a punch to his face. When Death Gatling tries to fire at him, Garou runs beside Glasses to force him to hold his fire. After he catches up, Garou pummels Glasses with some attacks he barely blocks and knocks him down when Glasses tries to attack with a punch to his jaw. Stinger then rushes Garou, but he knocks aside his bamboo shoot and pummels him with a flurry of punches before coming back to slam Glasses into a tree. Seeing his opening, Death Gatling fires his Death Shower. Garou miraculously manages to block the bullets with his bare hands, saving Tareo who is still in the shed behind him. Out of bullets, Death Gatling rushes Garou with a knife, but he smashes his cybernetic arm off and takes him out as Tareo flees. When Garou turns to leave as well, he is intercepted by Genos, who had received a call for backup.
  • 83rd Punch, The Cruel Staircase: Genos overpowers Garou with his body's new upgrades, forcing Garou to move on all-fours like Watchdog Man to stand a chance. Meanwhile, Saitama continues to lose game after game to King, frustrating him greatly. King receives the call for backup, so Saitama decides to go help in case Genos is there. Genos and Garou's battle is then interrupted by an influx of the Monster Association, who still want Garou to join them. After disposing of the monsters, Genos is about to finish Garou off when he is interrupted a second time by the arrival of Bang and Bomb.
  • 84th Punch, Escalation: Bang brutally punishes his former student. Realizing he can't win, Garou tries to escape but is stopped by Bomb. Bang and Bomb then combine their martial arts against Garou. In a state of great pain, Garou recalls his miserable past as a misunderstood child being ganged upon. In his anger, he commences a counterattack by pounding the ground and uprooting an enormous tree as a club. Phoenix Man suddenly appears, blowing the heroes back with his wings and grabbing Garou. Genos starts targeting with his cannons, so Phoenix Man calls out for backup, and Elder Centipede darts out of the ground to block the attack. Despite their combined strength, Bang, Bomb, and Genos are unable to damage Elder Centipede beyond making it molt once despite the martial brothers using their ultimate technique. Genos pushes himself extremely hard against the monster but is left crippled while only managing to slightly shift its scales after losing a leg and almost getting digested. Bang moves to sacrifice himself to buy Bomb time to escape with the defeated heroes. Fortunately, King catches Elder Centipede's attention with a megaphone, claiming that he brought Blast with him. Furious, Elder Centipede charges towards him and meets its demise when Saitama throws a Serious Punch that disintegrates its entire body from head to tail. Genos, Bang, and Bomb are all inspired by Saitama's strength. Meanwhile, Phoenix Man carries Garou back to the Monster Association, telling him of their leader, Orochi, before Garou passes out in his talons.

Gyoro Gyoro states that Garou needs to be physically and mentally pushed to the limit; he explains that Orochi was once an ordinary human too and that he was responsible for his development into a monster. Above ground, Zombieman has followed Armored Gorilla to a takoyaki shop, suspecting a front for the House of Evolution. He reveals to Armored Gorilla that he was made in the House of Evolution as well, but the gorilla informs him that the House of Evolution is no more. Dr. Genus speaks to Zombieman about Saitama, describing him as one who has removed his "limiter." He explains that every being has a limiter on how much they can develop, but Saitama broke his limiter via sheer will and determination, without any enhancements. This is why Dr. Genus gave up on his scientific ambitions. Garou still struggles against Bug God and Royal Ripper, believing he will be able to turn the tables soon, but is surprised by the interruption of Sludge Jellyfish with Tareo in hand. Meanwhile, Royal Ripper and Bug God report to Gyoro Gyoro, who tells them the Hero Association may attack soon since they found one of Child Emperor's scout drones in the base. Members of the Monster Association are seen preparing. Tareo is put into the same cell as Waganma, who is confident that his wealth means the heroes will save him. Garou wakes up and heads to the Monster Association for revenge. Child Emperor and Sekingar go through their roster; Child Emperor doesn't yet trust Genos due to his fairly new status and believes Bang will be held back by mercy for Garou, so he excludes them. At Saitama's apartment, the group is about to eat the hot pot. They rush in with their chopsticks, throwing the food into the air and causing a scuffle that knocks out King. Saitama is annoyed by how quickly the meat was eaten. The group then leaves.

Disappointed, Gyoro Gyoro calls for Orochi, whose massive hand shoots up out of the floor and grabs Garou. As Garou fights him, Orochi begins to unveil his true appearance, unraveling his body into endless horns, jaws, and dragons. The Hero Hunter laughs that while Orochi is strong, he is just a mindless monster. Garou takes a fighting stance, but he is shocked to see Orochi take the same stance, revealing that he is a fighting genius and was able to learn Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist just by observing him. The Hero Hunter attacks one more time but is soundly defeated. Meanwhile, Saitama notices smoke rising from a manhole.

Sitch and Sekingar discuss the mission when Bang arrives, making for an awkward greeting. Bomb tells Bang the Hero Association doesn't trust him. However, King arrives and asks for their help to handle his part of the mission anyways, which he was expected to do solo. Fubuki walks to Saitama's apartment, where she runs into a newly-upgraded Genos. They enter Saitama's apartment only to find him missing. Soon King, Bang, and Bomb arrive too. They decide to have Genos wait for Saitama while the rest head towards the raid. Deep below the surface, Saitama wanders the tunnels down the manhole.
  • 94th Punch, : The Hero Association's rescue team finally arrives in Z-City's ghost town for the raid. On the way to the base's entrance, an army of monsters surround them. The psychic Evil Eye faces Tatsumaki high in the sky, while the rest of the brawl takes place in the streets. Rhino Wrestler appears, cocky after leveling up from a Tiger to a Demon-level threat, and begins rating the heroes' attacks with numbers. Atomic Samurai grows impatient and quickly kills him. The S-Class heroes take over and swiftly clean up the monsters, amazing the lower-ranked heroes. Child Emperor finds one of Gyoro Gyoro's drones and disposes of it. Gyoro Gyoro meets with Orochi and the other Dragon-level cadres of the Monster Association, claiming he's figured out their strategy.

Inside, they split up to follow assigned routes. Gyoro Gyoro rebukes several monsters who ran away from the heroes and feeds them to Orochi, warning the rest to attack their assigned heroes. Flashy Flash encounters Gale Wind and Hellfire Flame, who recognize him as a fellow ninja. They enter their monster forms and attack, resulting in a blistering-speed battle.

  • 97th Punch, : Elsewhere in the base, Child Emperor finds the remains of Metal Knight's robot and is concerned that the Monster Association stole his technology. He accesses the robot's data, discovering that Metal Knight had a detailed map of the base already and stubbornly hadn't shared it. Phoenix Man appears to stop Child Emperor but he easily kills the bird with his gadgets, leaving the shredded body on the floor. He then follows Metal Knight's map to Waganma's location and frees him from his cell. Sludge Jellyfish attacks, but Child Emperor douses him with fuel and sets it on fire to defeat him. They continue but run into Machine God G5.
  • 98th Punch, : Child Emperor finds he can't easily defeat G5, so he has his robots hold it off while he escapes with Waganma. The two come across Phoenix Man's body again; Waganma recognizes him as a costume from a children's show in which a bird character would often die and come back to life. As if on cue, Phoenix Man resurrects, arising in a powerful humanoid form. Child Emperor gives Waganma a protective barrier and attacks Phoenix Man, but the resurrected monster overpowers him. This forces Child Emperor to summon his ultimate weapon: a huge combat mech called Brave Giant.
  • 99th Punch, : Phoenix Man is impressed by Child Emperor's "costume", and reaches out to him through a mental plane shared by those in costumes. He tries to convince Child Emperor to join him and create a world for those who need costumes to be strong, but the young hero refuses. The two fight until Phoenix Man threatens to melt Brave Giant with his flames. Detecting a large body of water below, Child Emperor breaks the floor to plunge the monster, Waganma, and himself into the pool.
  • 100th Punch, : Saitama saunters through the base, lamenting that his costume is getting dirty from all the monster gore. He is suddenly drenched in a deluge of water caused by Brave Giant landing in the pool nearby, pulling him towards Child Emperor at a large dam. The group falls to the bottom of a pit, and Phoenix Man reaches out to Child Emperor through the mental plane again. He recounts his backstory, urging Child Emperor to unite with his Brave Giant and become a monster like him. However, Saitama somehow enters the mental plane as well and intimidates Phoenix Man into leaving Child Emperor alone. Child Emperor then gets a call from Zombieman over his communicator, who commends him for his hard work. However, Phoenix Man suddenly strikes again, using his powers to resurrect a crowd of Subterranean corpses nearby and commanding them to attack. With Brave Giant pinned and Saitama defending Waganma from the zombies, Phoenix Man slides a Monster Cell into the cockpit, which moves to force itself down Child Emperor's throat. Realizing that his "costume" is not his only hope, Child Emperor makes Brave Giant self-destruct, destroying the Monster Cell and the Subterraneans and launching himself over Phoenix Man's head. Phoenix Man is amused that Child Emperor just destroyed his ultimate weapon but laughs uncontrollably as Child Emperor reveals he slipped a tickling robot into his costume. Phoenix Man laughs until he comes close to death, resurrecting and transforming into a tiny baby bird. Saitama congratulates Child Emperor on his victory, not only physically but mentally. Suddenly, the two realize that Gale Wind and Hellfire Flame were also resurrected by Phoenix Man's ability. The ninjas move to attack Saitama, but he casually strikes them down and they flee. Next, one of Child Emperor's dog drones returns, and the heroes and Waganma get on its back as it rushes towards the surface. On their way, Saitama notices giant dragons giving pursuit and punches them into smithereens, noting to himself that something larger must be lurking below.
  • 101st Punch, : Zombieman continues his strike route, killing monsters and regenerating as he goes. He meets a crowd of monsters that direct him into a room where a vampire named Pureblood wants to battle. • 103rd Punch, : Sweet Mask attacks Do-S and the Narinki Squad. However, Iaian reconsiders, and the three return to help Sweet Mask just before he can strike the brainwashed mercenaries. Bushidrill asks Sweet Mask if he was planning to kill the Narinki Squad, and he avoids the question. Do-S manages to get a sneak attack on Sweet Mask, cracking his face but is swiftly defeated. Sweet Mask then asks the three disciples to keep an eye on the Narinki Squad for him.

The two then prepare to fight.
  • 106th Punch, : The support team on the surface is struggling against the explosive monster Building Booper. Child Emperor, Saitama, and Waganma find themselves at a manhole below the chaos, so Saitama quickly stops the monster so they can exit. They hand Waganma off to the support team, while Saitama heads back underground to investigate that dragon monster. Child Emperor uses his communicator to notify the other heroes that he has successfully brought Waganma to the surface - Zombieman praises Child Emperor for a job well done, followed by Sweet Mask and Pig God. The last is Atomic Samurai, who tells them that he found another child in the base: Tareo. Child Emperor furiously glares at Waganma and heads back into the base to find the other hostage. Meanwhile, Atomic Samurai finds himself in a tough spot against Black Sperm's multiplicative abilities and causes the hall to collapse in a last-ditch effort. Elsewhere, Zombieman notices the impact but is suddenly ambushed by Homeless Emperor. He hits Zombieman with blasts faster than he can regenerate, so Zombieman stalls for time by asking about his backstory. Homeless Emperor explains that after being unfairly fired from a job and despising humanity, he met a being called "God" who bestowed great powers upon him so he could punish the humans.

It attacks with carnivorous fish and water jets, and the captain of the Narinki Squad - Tongara - sacrifices himself as they flee. Meanwhile, Saitama has re-entered the base, stumbling upon Overgrown Rover. The canine attacks, so Saitama punches him and tells him to sit. The blow shakes the entire headquarters, troubling both monsters and the heroes and spurring Genos to leave the apartment early. Nyan comes across Saitama and attacks from behind, but when it does no damage, he slinks away. Elsewhere, Gyoro Gyoro is met with Tatsumaki, a fellow psychic.
  • 111th Punch, : Gyoro Gyoro tries to assert his dominance but is easily dealt with by Tatsumaki. His body lays broken and torn on the ground, but the little esper realizes that he is just a meat puppet and not an actual organism with its thoughts. Dragons come shooting out of the darkness, and Orochi hoists himself up to meet Saitama, intrigued by the impact from his punch.

Rover regains consciousness nearby and Orochi commands him to kill Saitama, but the pooch instead flees in fear, surprising Orochi. Excited by such a powerful opponent, Orochi brings him to an underground altar, revealing that he has discovered an ancient prophecy and believes Saitama is the perfect sacrifice for his awakening. Saitama instead tries bathing in the lava, so Orochi moves to strike him with a burst of heat - Saitama deflects it with a Serious Squirt Gun before defeating him in one punch. As the impact from the blow threatens to crumble the lair, Saitama flees while Orochi desperately pulls himself to the altar.
  • 113th Punch, : Do-S is revealed to have survived Sweet Mask's crushing grip, and goes to gather her remaining love slaves. Fubuki, Bang, and Bomb are shown to have entered the Monster Association as well. King wanders alone, having split up from the others. He is startled when someone calls his name, turning to find Waganma. The boy asks to hug King, but the King Engine starts beating and he tells him to find another hero. At this point, Waganma is revealed to be a shapeshifting monster, who, interpreting King's words as its cover having been breached, promptly dies of fright. Meanwhile, Fubuki and the martial artists run into Do-S and her collection of loved slaves.

Not recognizing him as the infamous Hero Hunter, Puri-Puri Prisoner thinks he's another human hostage and moves to release him. However, just as he recognizes Garou's face, he breaks the chains and savagely attacks. Saitama continues to wander through the Monster Association as he searches for their leader (unaware it was Orochi since he cut his speech off). Around the next corner, Flashy Flash deduces that Saitama must be a monster, so he dashes around the corner and slashes. However, Saitama easily dodges. Flashy Flash is shocked to recognize Saitama as the B-Class hero who accompanied Genos to the emergency S-Class meeting. Enraged that he dodged, Flash performs his Flashy Slash, but Saitama simply catches the sword in one hand. Unamused, Saitama accuses him of being a monster, so he quickly clarifies that he's a hero too. Flash warns him of the existence of the Monster King Orochi, exciting Saitama as he doesn't realize he already fought him. Annoyed by Saitama's persistence, Flash runs off at high speeds to abandon him but is shocked when he can easily keep up.
  • 116th Punch, : As they run, Saitama notices he is seeing the same monster corpse again and again. He asks Flashy Flash if they're lost, only to be ignored. Back in Z-City, the surface team continues to fight off monsters and protect Waganma as they wait for the S-Class heroes to find the other hostage. • 118th Punch, : After almost poisoning and melting Nyan with toxic gas and acid, Drive Knight engages him in his "Knight," "Flying Chariot," and "Bishop" forms before Nyan counterattacks by slipping inside him to assault his circuitry and forces him to revert to his base form. Drive Knight transforms into his "Gold" form as Nyan attempts the same strategy again and severely burns him while he's inside him, leaving Nyan wide open for him to impale in his "Silver" form. He collects the charred Nyan, still alive.
  • 119th Punch, : Sekingar marvels at Drive Knight's performance and asks him where he was. Drive Knight explains he was spying on the Monster Association and had analyzed Nyan before attacking. He also tells Sekingar that he believes Metal Knight is a traitor to the Hero Association, though Sekingar is skeptical. Suddenly, Sekingar's hand is blown off by a laser from Machine God G5, whose core survived and made it to the surface. Drive Knight tells him to call Blast for help since he used all his power, but Sekingar explains only certain people can contact Blast. Fortunately, Genos arrives out of nowhere and quickly destroys G5. Drive Knight says he's going to use Nyan's body for research, and Nyan lets slip that he met Saitama, piquing Genos' interest.
  • 120th Punch, : Genos grabs Sekingar and the unconscious surface team to take them out of Z-City, grabbing Food Battler Futoshi and Waganma on his way. At a Hero Association convoy, Genos leaves Waganma and the surface team in the care of the military. • 122nd Punch, : Evil Natural Water counters Child Emperor's icy attack by absorbing the fuel from Sludge Jellyfish's body to increase its freezing point. Crippled in his legs, Child Emperor watches in horror as the water monster looms above him. As Genos runs back to the battlefield, he reads data given to him by Sekingar detailing the cadres of the Monster Association. Elsewhere, Flashy Flash and Saitama run in circles, neither having any sense of direction. Saitama suggests finding a monster to guide them to the Monster King, so they break into a bathroom and find a one-eyed monster on a toilet, who is shocked to see an S-Class hero. A narrator explains that the S-Class was created to group heroes that were consistently capable of defeating Demon-level monsters. They are renowned for their strength - however, they seem to have finally met their match.
  • 123rd Punch, : Most of the S-Class is shown to be overpowered by the Monster Association's cadres... except for one. Tatsumaki deduces that Gyoro Gyoro's true body is deep underground - a woman named Psykos, who has been secretly pulling the strings of the entire Monster Association. She restrains her with her psychokinesis. Meanwhile, Fubuki, Bang, and Bomb have unfortunately run into Overgrown Rover.
  • 124th Punch, : Fubuki, Bang, and Bomb's attacks aren't affecting Overgrown Rover, so they continue to hide. Eventually, Fubuki gives the brothers a psychic boost, and they strike Overgrown Rover simultaneously with their combined technique.
  • 125th Punch, : However, the combined attack still wasn't enough, and Overgrown Rover gets back up again. Bang jokes about telling Rover to sit, and surprisingly, Rover does so. Elsewhere, Saitama, Flashy Flash, and their new monster guide go on a wild minecart ride to find Orochi.

She drinks a potion to increase her psychic abilities and prepares to face her. Elsewhere, after Garou gets hit in the head by Darkshine, he wakes up from his monstrous trance and comes back to reality. He confidently attacks Darkshine again but is badly beaten, even having his ribcage broken. Darkshine tells Garou to give up his "monster play," making Garou bitterly retort that Darkshine is just doing a "hero play" too. Garou's words secretly ring true with Darkshine, as he never intended to risk his life as a hero.
  • 127th Punch, : Psykos gets pulled up through the base, and she pulls Tatsumaki down to meet her in the middle. The two espers begin to face off in a large cavern. King finds himself with Tareo - fearing he may be another monster, King shouts that he will never trick him. Coincidentally, an invisible monster was sneaking up on them reveals himself in defeat. King and Tareo then enter an elevator while the invisible monster flees, only for one strange biomass to consume him on the floor ahead: Orochi's half-beating heart, still clinging onto life. Orochi's body, splattered all over the base by Saitama's punch, begins absorbing any monsters he can in an attempt to regain his life. Orochi notices Psykos and Tatsumaki's battle and rushes over. Psykos is at the mercy of Tatsumaki, who asks about any remaining human hostages. Tatsumaki gets a call for help from Sweet Mask, but she declines. Suddenly, Orochi's biomass fires heat beams at her from all angles, catching Tatsumaki off-guard and allowing Psykos to escape.
  • 128th Punch, : Orochi's grotesque biomass absorbs Psykos, and the two fuse into a giant hybrid creature that overpowers Tatsumaki's psychic abilities. While Saitama, Flashy Flash, and their monster guide run from Orochi's encroaching biomass, King and Tareo flee towards the surface using an elevator. King says over the communicator that he has recovered the second hostage, giving Tatsumaki the cue to no longer hold back.
  • 129th Punch, : Darkshine continues to fight a losing battle against Garou. He recalls his past, being a weak and unpopular child but finding confidence in bodybuilding. He is continually outplayed by Garou's moves and finally succumbs to despair - Garou sees the scared child within Darkshine and spares him. Suddenly, a psychic shield appears around Darkshine, revealing that Tatsumaki is beginning to make her move. Darkshine tries to save Garou from the collapsing fortress but is carried away by Tatsumaki's barrier.
  • 130th Punch, : As the headquarters shakes, Fubuki creates a barrier around herself, Bang, and Bomb, while Tatsumaki's barriers continue to appear around the S-Class heroes to save them from the cadres. She doesn't know where Flashy Flash and Zombieman are, so Saitama is forced to defend Flash and Zombieman is left to be crushed. Iaian breaks out of his barrier to save the unprotected Narinki Squad, and Gums shatters Pig God's barrier, forcing the two to reengage. Tatsumaki then uses her psychokinesis to rip the entire underground base upwards, inverting it into a massive tower-like structure above ground. Meanwhile, Saitama, Flashy Flash, and the monster are trapped in a cave within the base's rubble. The monster tells them her name is Manako, and she finds Flash buried under a large pile of rocks. Saitama and Manako begin to carefully free him rock by rock.
  • 132nd Punch, : Tatsumaki is about to attack Psykorochi, but Psykos fires a massive beam that shaves off a whole layer of the planet's crust in front of her. Psykos then explains that while she and Orochi were merging, they had a vision of a godlike being who gave them even greater power. Tatsumaki is unimpressed.
  • 133rd Punch, : Tatsumaki goes all-out, simultaneously fighting and saving civilians from Psykorochi's attacks. She destroys Psykos' projection on the top but is caught off-guard by the monster's base attacking her. Suddenly, Genos joins the battle, using his boosted state to keep Psykorochi busy. Using the opening, Tatsumaki quickly gains the upper hand on Psykorochi. Below them, Saitama and Manako find new ways to stave off their hunger while digging out Flashy Flash.
  • 134th Punch, : Genos and Tatsumaki work together to overwhelm Psykorochi, with Tatsumaki finally twisting their entire body and wringing it out like cloth. However, she falters, having pushed herself too hard. Psykorochi uses the moment to transform into a jet-like shape and fly away, but Tatsumaki steels herself and creates a massive barrier to keep them in the area. Drive Knight appears, having recharged, and gives pursuit in his flying transformation. On the ground, Pig God regurgitates the contents of his stomach, revealing that he swallowed Atomic Samurai's disciples and the Narinki Squad to save them. Meanwhile, Garou is seen clawing his way out of the rubble deep underground, feeling his body changing. Darkshine finally resolves to keep fighting after Sweet Mask brutally berates him for his cowardice as Tanktop Master arrives on the scene, and Child Emperor is happy to see everyone cooperating.
  • 137th Punch, : Bang, Bomb, and Fubuki are next to regroup with the S-Class heroes, turning their attention to the ongoing battle with Psykorochi above. Tatsumaki has been weakened by over-exerting herself with the barrier, but Genos and Drive Knight continue to protect her while chasing their target. Tatsumaki has a flashback to being saved by Blast in her childhood, which spurs her to a second wind.
  • 138th Punch, : The S-Class heroes finally work together to take on Psykorochi, damaging Orochi enough to force Psykos to abandon him. Meanwhile, Tatsumaki lifts the uprooted Monster Association base and turns it into a spear-like shape, threatening to crush Orochi with it. Below, Saitama and Manako have finally freed Flashy Flash from the rubble, but at the cost of his prized sword. They also discover a curious cube-shaped object. Manako moves to sneak away, but peers through a hole in the rubble only to find a gigantic humanoid crouched in the Earth.
  • 139th Punch, : Saitama, Manako, and Flashy Flash hear a voice offering them great power after Manako fails to light up the hole with four different lighting methods, but it is interrupted by the appearance of a mysterious hero: Blast! He grabs the cube object, explaining that it is used to communicate with a powerful being and that he's been collecting them. Blast then quickly bids Saitama's trio farewell and teleports them towards the surface. Child Emperor asks Zombieman to lead the rest of the mission, but Zombieman expresses his trust in Child Emperor regardless of his mistakes. He joins Metal Bat in catapulting themselves towards the battle.

Back at the ruins of the Monster Association base, the S-Class heroes are relieved to have completed the mission. However, Atomic Samurai appears, warning the group that Zombieman has been attacked. The executives of the Monster Association then begin to reveal themselves; Sweet Mask attempts to attack Homeless Emperor but is grabbed by Black Sperm and literally torn in half by Fuhrer Ugly. The monsters notice Child Emperor trying to drag Zombieman away, and Fuhrer Ugly moves to strike but is caught up in one of Homeless Emperor's blasts in the process. Atomic Samurai and Iaian are attacked by Evil Natural Water, while Pig God tries to free Tanktop Master from Gums. The stress nearly knocks her out, but it saves Genos, impressing Bang.

Genos and Bang follow Tatsumaki back to the fight. Elsewhere, the Council of Swordmasters - including Spring Mustachio - arrive on the battlefield. Tanktop Master and Pig God struggle against Gums and Fuhrer Ugly, the latter of whom sadistically dismembers a Narinki Squad member. Tatsumaki stops him, allowing Pig God to swallow the Narinki Squad again and Tanktop Master to hurl him far away. However, Fuhrer Ugly breaks through Tatsumaki's hold before thrashing Tanktop Master, crippling him badly. Gums then swallows Tanktop Master's broken body while Fuhrer Ugly approaches the injured Tatsumaki.

Fuhrer Ugly pursues Bang but his attacks are redirected into Gums, causing the monster to angrily turn on him and swallow him. Black Sperm asks Homeless Emperor for help, but he declines, content to wait out Black Sperm's battle and finish him off when he's weak. Genos brings Tanktop Master to Fubuki so she can heal him; due to her weakened state, she has to use some of Bomb's power to do so. Suddenly, Garou bursts from the rubble nearby, causing Bomb to call out for Bang. Atomic Samurai allows Bang to go face Garou while he, Darkshine, and the swordmasters continue to combat Black Sperm.

As a result, Nichirin and Amahare are both dissolved. In his final moments, Nichirin reaches into a portal and bestows the legendary Sun Blade upon Atomic Samurai. Meanwhile, Fuhrer Ugly and Black Sperm begin to bicker, prompting a fight. Black Sperm fuses many cells into the swole and shiny Golden Sperm. He easily brutalizes Vomited Fuhrer Ugly with his bare hands, the anti-corrosive properties of gold warding off his acid attacks.
  • 149th Punch, : Homeless Emperor finally joins the fight, blasting Fuhrer Ugly with light and forcing him to flee. Golden Sperm goes for the burned Darkshine and beats him further; the rest of the Black Sperm cells continue to torment Genos and Tatsumaki. While Fuhrer Ugly crawls away to consume Bang and replenish his body, he is followed by a thousand Black Sperm cells. However, they then run into Metal Bat, who kills the cells. Child Emperor is revealed to have survived Homeless Emperor's energy blast when Underdog Man took the blast for him and rubble buried them underground. King also appears, facing down the squad of Black Sperm cells in a hero pose with the King Engine roaring.
  • 150th Punch, : Bang and Garou's fight rages on. Garou begins using the forbidden Explosion Release Fist style, something he stole from the dojo during his rampage years ago. Bomb remembers the style as one of Bang's old techniques back when he was a reckless punk. Black Sperm, fearful of King but also ready to fight to the death, combines all 11,449,100,712,554 of his cells into one superpowerful being: Platinum Sperm.
  • 153rd Punch, : Bang lands a critical blow on Garou, but takes damage in turn; Fuhrer Ugly appears, ready to consume the injured Bang. Meanwhile, Zombieman tries to interrogate Homeless Emperor about his powers, only for the hobo to have his life force sucked away by a being he calls God.
  • 154th Punch, : Platinum Sperm beats the weakened heroes and challenges King to use his Ultimate Hellfire Burst Wave Motion Cannon. Garou, his armor cracking, goes on a hyperspeed rampage against the remaining monsters: he kills Fuhrer Ugly, splatters Evil Natural Water again, and knocks Platinum Sperm into the air - the heroes believe it was King's attack. Saitama, Flashy Flash, and Manako finally appear nearby.
  • 155th Punch, : Saitama dashes past Garou to check on Genos and King. Garou snaps out of his rage and is challenged by Flashy Flash, only for Platinum Sperm to reappear for a three-way brawl at supersonic speeds. While Saitama offers his friends encouragement, Garou develops his own martial art called Monster Calamity God Slayer Fist in the middle of combat. Just offshore, an aircraft carrier is overturned by a giant Evil Ocean Water that has assimilated the entire sea.
  • 156th Punch, : Flashy Flash is the first to be ejected from the hyperspeed brawl, and it is finished when Garou finally tears Platinum Sperm to shreds. Meanwhile, an apparition from "God" tempts Tatsumaki, but the real Blast appears. Blast entrusts Tatsumaki to King before disappearing. Suddenly, a giant centipede even larger than Elder Centipede called Sage Centipede appears, wanting to claim retribution on the humans alongside Evil Ocean Water. However, Garou springs into action and begins pummelling it.
  • 157th Punch, : Sekingar, Tareo, and the injured heroes are extracted via helicopter, but Sage Centipede notices. He and Evil Ocean Water coordinate an attack, but Saitama rushes in and hits Evil Ocean Water with a Serious Punch that splits it down the middle, surfing the aircraft carrier to safety. Garou goes to attack Sage Centipede again only to find Metal Bat doing the same, and the two bicker while they fight him. Suiryu and Suiko see an image of Garou's terrifying face on the news, but Suiryu doubts its killing intent.
  • 158th Punch, : Garou and Metal Bat unintentionally team up to save the helicopter from Sage Centipede. Metal Bat gets pounded into the ground, but Garou targets the centipede's regenerative core and throws it insanely high, forcing him to pursue it to the sky.
  • 159th Punch, : Sweet Mask, somehow alive, finds a seemingly random civilian in the rubble. He tells him to evacuate, but the civilian declines, and begins working on eating Gums' corpse (revealing it is a thinned Pig God). Meanwhile, Garou chases Sage Centipede into the sky, lining up for a karate chop that splits him entirely from end to end like breaking ceramic tiles. This proves to Garou that he has truly mastered his new martial art.
  • 160th Punch, : Saitama surfs the aircraft carrier ahead of the tsunami, turning it to protect the other heroes from the wave. Pig God appears and swallows all of them to protect them. Once the waves have subsided, Saitama touches down in the soaked aftermath to face Garou.
  • 161st Punch, : Garou proclaims he is the ultimate evil, but Saitama brushes him off and starts to leave. Garou tries to teach him a lesson but gets beaten back, and both of them finally put two and two together to remember their previous encounters.
  • 162nd Punch, The support heroes try to evacuate by boat, including Tareo. Garou and Saitama's subsequent battle allowed the two to accidentally reunite, and Tareo, sneaking out of the evacuated boat and finally realizing Garou's latent heroism, true to discourage him from his goals of Absolute Evil. As Garou gets punched away, Saitama promises Tareo to not kill Garou, and stop him in his stead.
  • 163rd Punch, Saitama and Garou continue to fight, with the former pointing out Garou's internal better nature. All throughout, Garou's series of coincidental heroics reinforce Saitama's claim as correct.
  • 164th Punch, The support heroes frantically search for Tareo, only to encounter Pig God floating. Garou, incesed by Saitama's taunts and jeers, gets subsequent powerups but ends up getting stumped on how to beat him as Saitama still continuously outpowers him. However, unbeknownst to the two, the collateral damage from Garou's attacks distorts earth's poles and gravity, which caused a hole in God's seal. Garou then realizes the Saitama is the Abominable Fist of God that Sage Centipede and ENW planned to eradicate. As Saitama punches him away, Garou falls into despair, allowing God taking advantage of Garou's state and infuse him with power, turning him to Awakened Garou: Cosmic Fear Mode.
  • 165th Punch, With his new power, Garou hits Saitama with a punch so strong it causes multiple nuclear explosions. Saitama is mostly unhurt but complains about the damage to his outfit. Garou reveals he can copy Saitama’s moves and uses Consecutive Normal Punches. Saitama responds in kind and the two hit each other in a cross-counter. Garou hits Saitama with a gamma-ray burst and lands in front of the heroes and civilians. After briefly reminiscing over the interaction where God granted him this new power, Garou advances on the crowd.
  • 166th Punch, Deducing that Garou is being controlled, Bang prepares to face him, despite being in rough condition. Before they can clash, Blast appears and informs Garou that the radiation he emits plus the sheer scale of his powers make him a threat to all life on Earth. Garou isn’t bothered by this, seeing it as a step closer to his goal of being the ultimate evil. Genos rockets himself into Garou but fails to hurt him at all. Blast engages with Garou, pummeling him and sealing him in another dimension, only for Garou to instantly escape and launch another nuclear-powered attack. After Blast redirects the attacks, Garou impales Genos, hoping it will prompt Saitama to fight all out. As he predicted, Saitama is furious and throws a Serious Punch, which Garou copies.
  • 167th Punch, Fearing the destructive power Garou and Saitama, Blast transports them to one of Jupiter’s moons. Saitama declares he only needs one hand to beat Garou and easily deflects Garou’s first attack. Garou unleashes a barrage of techniques which do little more than destroy Saitama’s clothes. Unfazed, Saitama hits Garou so hard that he bounces off the debris from their battle. Still baffled by Saitama’s strength, Garou determines that the only way to win is to continue copying him.
  • 168th Punch, Saitama and Garou continue trading blows, only for Garou to note that he’s still falling behind. As if to prove this, Saitama gets cold and unleashes a Serious Sneeze that massively damages Jupiter. Stunned, Garou tries throwing Saitama into the sun. His celebration is cut short when Saitama farts himself through the portal Garou made. Saitama punches Garou down to Earth and and points out that Tareo is dead, much to Garou’s dismay. Garou laments that he couldn’t become the ultimate evil and asks to teach Saitama his ultimate technique. This allows Saitama to travel back in time and defeat Garou before his radiation kills everyone before fusing with the version of himself in the present with no memories of what he’s been doing.
  • 169th Punch, Genos connects to power core that Saitama’s future self had, causing him to remember the alternate future, which he overexplains to Saitama. Amai Mask moves to kill Garou, only for Tareo to stop him. Tareo calls the mob of heroes out for wanting to execute Garou, with King taking his side. Unmoved by the sympathy, Garou flees with Metal Knight showing up right after to deal with all the radiation. With all said and done, Saitama plans to get Genos repaired and find whatever’s left of his apartment.
  • 170th Punch, Bang and Garou set out to atone for Garou’s misdeeds.

    Redrawn Chapters
Yusuke Murata sometimes redraws manga chapters between their initial online releases and their official physical volume printing to tweak the art/Retcon the story. Here are summaries of the original chapters to comment on What Could Have Been, as these chapters are no longer canon.

Online chapters have border text on the cover with the chapter number and title in a small box, the franchise trademark, and a handpicked quote. There may be other intricacies depending on the chapter, and online releases up to Chapter 34 had black borders. Volume chapters only have the unbordered plain panel with the chapter number and title splashed across in standard text. One-Punch Man has some predominantly red coloring in some chapter covers online, which always becomes wholly black-and-white in the volumes.

  • Chapter 11: The two panels of Saitama right after the cover were colored online, the second of which contained the title and text instead of the first page. The volume partially reverted this change in that the pages were now black-and-white again a title splash.
  • Chapter 13: Charanko screamed instead of King during the attack of the Paradisers online.
  • Chapter 21: There was originally a panel of the entire Earth describing the meteor after Genos walked out on Bang. Also, the online version had a colored page of Saitama reading right after Metal Knight arrived, and everything after that panel had color online. Everything is black-and-white in the volume, which lacks the Earth and reading Saitama panels.
  • Chapters 24-25: Deep Sea King pummeling Puri-Puri Prisoner originally only had one double-spread devoted to it instead of two. These chapters were one "Deep Sea King" chapter online but got split in the redraw.
  • Chapter 31: The finishing double-spread originally had color, which the volume removed.
  • Chapter 32: This chapter was two chapters online and merged in the volume. "Counter" was the second chapter's title and had a cover with Genos and Saitama looking at a Melzargard cake with an unidentified fruit topping.
  • Chapter 33: The cover designs were on the second page online.
  • Chapters 34-35: Online, Boros kicked Saitama in the back while he was in the air instead of punching the back of his head. The latter chapter was part of the former under the former's name online and split in the redraw.
  • Chapter 36: Boros didn't do the moon kick online during his Meteoric Burst attack. Instead, he knocked off a wing of the ship and threw it at Saitama, nearly bisecting the entire spacecraft.
  • Chapter 38: The double-spread of King facing Tongue Stretcher got redrawn in the volume with a higher resolution. When G4 inspects King, the information section originally erroneously marked him as A-Class instead of S-Class.
  • Chapter 39: Flashback scene with transition from past to current Saitama was at first on one page, split in 2 panels, instead of two full pages.
  • Chapter 53: Sour Face did not explain Bang and Garou's history at Super Fight and introduced himself as Saitama hid his face behind the paper. Saitama tried to act as Charanko but accidentally provoked him, making the guy grab his head; he dodged attacks until Sour Face kicked off his wig. This chapter was two chapters online, with the second one called "Waiting Room 2" before the redraw merged them, with the merged chapter's cover being Fubuki bathing in a natural spring with Saitama, Genos, and Tatsumaki in the background.
  • Chapters 55-57: Chapter 55 included Chapter 56 when first released online. The first half of Chapter 57 was the original Chapter 56, while the second half was titled "Meddling Continued" online. Metal Bat used to have his weapon over his shoulder instead of swinging it on 56's cover. Chapter 57 didn't have a dedicated front page online and used fighting panels.
  • Chapter 58: A cut section after Garou first reached Metal Bat after exchanging remarks had the hero tackle him at the ricocheting sewer cover, which Garou catches before attacking. This chapter had the title "Creeping Darkness" online.
  • Chapter 61: Do-S mind-controlled Studless instead of Saturn Man, as he was fighting her instead of Eyesight. As such, Saturn Man was absent.
  • Chapter 62: The front page was originally a colored and animated GIF file, with the cover designs on the second page. The volume version turns the front page black and white and moves the cover designs there.
  • Chapter 63: There was originally a full-page panel with Genos standing and balling his left hand into a fist. This panel was between him striking a monster with his electric punch and it dying in steam.
  • Chapter 65: The original cover shows a crowd with Saitama, Genos, Puri-Puri Prisoner, Watchdog Man, Garou, and Tatsumaki. Shigeo Kageyama, Dimple, and Tome Kurata, three main characters from ONE's webcomic Mob Psycho 100, frolicked in the background. The volume version doesn't have a dedicated cover and uses fighting panels.
  • Chapter 70: The original cover framed Suiryu and Saitama horizontally instead of vertically. In the removed cover thought bubble, Saitama noted how Suiryu was taller than him and thus had his eyes lined up with his wig. A full-page panel with Tatsumaki saying "Happy New Year" on a card lay online right after Suiryu said, "Let's go!" Saitama and Genos lay in the card's background, and a splash outside the card said, "2017 WILL BE ONE PUNCHED AS WELL." This chapter got released around the transition between 2016 and 2017.
  • Chapter 74: There was originally a full-page panel showing Suiryu curled up on a card with "ONE PUNCH MAN" on it after Gouketsu left Super Fight. Outside, the quote said, "BEFORE THAT GAZE LIES…"
  • Chapters 76-77: These chapters originally had each other's titles online but got swapped in the volume. Uniquely, this recap page always uses fanmade titles and not Viz Media ones except for these chapters.
  • Chapters 84-85: These chapters were one chapter online, and the volume split them apart.
  • Chapters 99-100: Murata has redrawn these chapters twice.
    • Originally, it was a simple fight between Phoenix Man and Child Emperor's Brave Giant without anything special, but Murata wasn't satisfied with the flow so he redid it.
    • The second version saw Child Emperor killing Phoenix Man once, causing him to resurrect in the powerful "Brilliant Eagle Mode". This gave Phoenix Man the upper hand, forcing Child Emperor to use a Kamehame Hadoken that depleted the rest of Brave Giant's power and seemed to finish off Phoenix Man until he returned again. Child Emperor originally slipped Tickle-Tickle Bug #1 instead of #3 into Phoenix Man's costume, which caused him to rip it off, letting Child Emperor impale him with his backpack gear. Additionally, the revived Gale Wind and Hellfire Flame ran off and faced Saitama in a hallway, since he wasn't at the scene of the fight.
    • The third version with Saitama, Phoenix Space, Phoenix Penguin Mode, and Monster Chick Man is the one we're currently sitting with.
  • Chapter 101: Zombieman originally didn't fight any monster-made Metal Knight drones. This chapter was originally titled "Zombieman" online.
  • Chapter 102: The fight between Atomic Samurai's disciples and the brainwashed Narinki Squad was originally shorter.
  • Chapter 103: Iaian didn't change his mind originally, so Sweet Mask actually ended up killing the Narinki Squad and Do-S with relatively little trouble, not getting his face cracked or anything. This means that they also weren't present in any future chapters after this.
  • Chapter 104: Atomic Samurai's disciples fought Devil Long Hair alone since the Narinki Squad died.
  • Chapter 110: Atomic Samurai's fight with G5 was originally later, and it lasted quite a bit longer. He even complimented the robot on its skills.
  • Chapter 111: Originally, Saitama didn't accompany Child Emperor to the surface, there was no Building Booper gag, and Child Emperor was even angrier with Wagnma upon learning he lied about Tareo.
  • Chapter 112: Orochi and Saitama's fight was much more by the numbers, with Orochi condensing into a humanoid form and attempting to beat him with martial arts. Saitama then punched him multiple times, eventually launching himself through his skull, and Orochi fell into the pit. Originally, Orochi's face was not a mask and was his actual face.
  • Chapter 113: Do-S did not appear in this chapter, having been truly killed by Sweet Mask. Additionally, Gyoro Gyoro's drone saw Saitama instead of King and remarked that a "bald hero" was the one who defeated Orochi, which Tatsumaki assumed to be Darkshine.
  • Chapter 114: The dead mercenaries didn't accompany the swordsmen to find Evil Natural Water. Master Joe was a generic cat-like monster instead, and Evil Natural Water was stored in an aquarium instead of a giant vault.
  • Chapter 115: Sweet Mask's first encounter with Fuhrer Ugly occurred in a normal hallway rather than a hall of mirrors.

Saitama: Enough, you idiot! Shorten this stupid story to 20 words or less!
