Recap / OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes S 2 E 4 Be a Team

Go To

When the stress of a 100-day sale causes the gang to start fighting, Mr. Gar brings in some team building experts to help K.O., Enid and Rad.

Tropes:

  • Break the Motivational Speaker: Nick and Joff's frustration with their failed attempts to teach teamwork to K.O. and his friends causes the two of them to start arguing as well. Subverted, in that this was one of their exercises.
  • Demon Head: Whenever Mr. Gar yells at the others from another room, his head becomes as big as the door.
  • Floating Advice Reminder: Parodied; when K.O. has his "Eureka!" Moment, Mr. Gar's disembodied head appears and starts repeating his rambling attempt to describe yin and yang. Then the head starts floating away, and Mr. Gar protests he wasn't done.
  • Gagging on Your Words: Nick asks the team to tell each other "I love you", but Enid and Rad can't because it's just too weird.
  • Here We Go Again!: The episode begins with the Bodega having finished a 100-day sale. At the end, Mr. Gar tells the crew to get ready for a 200-day sale.
  • Overly Polite Pals: Nick and Joff. The episode begins and ends with them asking the other to go first before deciding to go together.
  • Sudden Video-Game Moment: After Nick finishes describing the tank exercise, a graphic appears that reads "Teamwork Get".
  • Tank Goodness: Nick has a giant tank, which he asks the Bodega crew to operate together. It fails horribly.
  • Trust-Building Blunder: The Bodega crew mess up at each of Nick and Joff's team-building exercises.
    • Nick's first attempt is to have the crew hold hands and say "I love you", but Rad and Enid's Unresolved Sexual Tension puts the kibosh on that.
    • Joff attempts meditation. It works at first, but then Rad belches, which causes Enid to argue with him, and they end up fighting again.
    • Nick's exercise to operate a giant tank together fails because each of them went into stations that were wrong for their skill sets: Enid loads ammo, Rad gives technical support, and K.O. commands in the cockpit.
