- Hybrid All Along: Lloyd and Jay learn about the Realm of Oni and Dragons and that the First Spinjitzu Master was an Oni/Dragon hybrid. This means that Lloyd, Garmadon, and Wu are all part Oni and part Dragon.
- Instant Humiliation: Just Add YouTube!: The ninja, true companions that they are, film Cole singing via Zane and plan to keep copies of it.
- Lampshade Hanging: While doped up on the Tea of Truth, Cole's asked what Lloyd's powers even are, and even then he's not really sure.
- Saying Too Much: Despite not being drugged, the Son Zane and Cole interrogate accidentally gives away where the Sons gather anyhow.
- Truth Serum: The Tea of Truth, which forces people to tell the truth, including involuntary ones. Cole accidentally takes a sip that he'd been planning to give to a Son of Garmadon and blurts out far too much.
